Gift Card Specials for Holiday Season?
AndreaInNC replied to txsupermom's topic in Offline Hot Deals
PeiWei .. buy $50 in gift cards, get a $10 gift card to use on your next visit. -
I got one of the better TVs too.
-
It was super easy. BUT .. it might not come in time for Christmas. I got the 32" TV and it arrived to my local Walmart after Christmas.
-
I think BB has the right idea of closing and then Reopening.

I'm sure this won't make you happy either about the wireless beats .. the battery doesn't last that long if you turn on the wireless function. She discovered that she rarely even uses the wireless feature - but she HAD to have them .. sigh .. kids ..
-
That's a good deal for the wireless ones.
-
I like they the opening time. They will be open the same time as Target and Best Buy so it's easier to do PMing on the DVDs. Couldn't do that last year.
-
Do you have a Super Walmart by you? Our is open 24 hours and last year they started handing out the tickets for the 1 hour gte items when the line reached how many they had in the store. So I got the coupon before the sale even started. edited .. now I see the TV you are talking about .. I'm thinking I'll pay the extra bucks and get one of the TVs with the 1 hour gte.

I will never buy electronics from Target on BF. The stores I've been to keep them behind the counter in the electronics department and there is ONE line. So doesn't matter what you are buying - you have to stand in line with everyone else who wants something behind the counter and pay for your purchases then and there. It normally takes about 1.5 hours no matter what time you get there .. it is crazy and for that reason, I'll shop somewhere else.

DD23 got the wireless Beats two Christmas ago. Those broke, so we got the money to replace them. She actually found a pair of wireless Beats on Craigslist and had enough money to buy Monster headphones as well. She uses the Monster ones now more than the Beats. The Beats are for a certain type of music - like the PP said .. heavy bass .. They also work as noise cancelling headphones as well. I was skeptical as well because they are so expensive. But then I went into Best Buy and tried them all out. I became a believer ... But you are paying for the name, and now that they have been bought by Apple, they will be hard to find on sale in the future IMHO.

the wireless ones never go on sale more than 15% off - that I have ever seen - I've never seen the wireless ones go for less than $200 new. If you have a teen .. might want to think twice about the wireless models because the band that folds them can crack easily. I think they are a bit heavier than the regular Beats because of what makes them wireless. If you do buy them, I'd suggest taking the extra warranty or using a card that extends the mfg warranty. it's a known issue with this brand of Beats and no one can repair them. And when you are spending over $200 might want to protect your investment. I'm speaking from experience. DDs broke 16 months after I bought them. thank goodness for the purchase protection with my Discover card. They replaced them for free.

technically with Walmart and PMing you don't even have to show them the ad.

I won't shop at kohls because their checkout line is terrible. At least an hour in line jus to pay. I got other places to go!!

Are you for or against Thursday/Thanksgiving store openings?
AndreaInNC replied to rwking75's topic in 2014
I shop at a super Walmart that is open anyway. -
It's a huge PITA unless you can get the butcher to debone the birds for you. Harris Teeter sells one .. it's pricey but it's not bad.
-
I love going into the store as that is the one time they let you stack coupons.

Gift Card Specials for Holiday Season?

Red Robin has a promo right now. Buy a $25 gift card and get a free movie ticket for the newest Hobbit movie (up to $10 value). -
My kids hated stuffing/dressing until I made this one. I normally find roasted chesnuts in a bag in the produce section this time of year. http://www.simplefoodie.com/recipes/bread_stuffing__sausage_dried_apricots__chestnuts.htm And we've been frying turkey for over 15 years now .. only way to go ..

AndreaInNC replied to Brad's topic in 2014
My Sears is slated to close in January. They started markdowns on 10/31. I wonder if they'll even do Black Friday/thanksgiving. -
Heck yeah!!! This year I'm replacing my 32" TV

I wish the local radio stations would play Christmas music throughout the Christmas season and not stop on 12/25. The 12 days of Christmas doesn't start until December 25th!
