The one in Morrisville, NC isn't on all of the lists, but was reportedly was closed yesterday for the day. It will reopen today only to close for good at the end of the month.

I'm too lazy to drive by the one I sometimes go to - but it has been removed from their website as one of their clubs.

You have to admit - this really isn't a thing anymore. Target rarely marks things down so low anymore - they just donate them to charity and take the tax deduction. I used to shop at Target like once a week - but I think I've been in Target only a handful of times in the past year.

Oh and I finally agreed to letting DD26 get a dog. That alone made her Christmas, we picked him up on 12/23 from the shelter.

I only participated in the card exchange - but I so enjoyed getting all the cards! thanks to everyone - it made my lonely & boring Christmas a little brighter.

My new favorite company is Penzey's spices. Love what they stand for - found them after the Woman's March back in January. DD23 has moved out and is a chef in Miami. Sent her one of their deluxe spice boxes. She LOVED it and even used the spices the very day she opened the gift!

Bought my real tree from our state farmers market on Saturday. It made inside the house Sunday. It is still nekkid. I have to get up into the attic to start bringing the tubs of decorations down. Hope to finish it this week.

I'll be doing some baking and sending to the youngest who won't be able to make it home for Christmas. having to find some vegan cookie recipes for her girlfriend so she doesn't feel left out.

I'll chime in to say that I love UP! Don't know if I'll watch it past the holidays - but they have some good Christmas movies.

I hope to get my cards in the mail this week. I have received a ton of cards this year. I've missed getting them in the mail - I haven't participated in a few years! Can't wait to display them all!

I bought all my appliances at Best Buy. Most of them i was able to pick up as "open boxes" or floor models. I only bought the microwave as new. Opened up a Best Buy card to get the extra rewards, got a gift card for purchasing an entire set. They also threw in free 5 year extended warranties on the fridge and oven. I scored!! The fridge alone retailed for about 2500 and I got it for 1100. I bought mine around Labor Day - didn't wait for BF! Have you checked your local Habitat Resale stores? Mine routinely has appliances - they work - people just upgrade.

when my kids were in elementary school we adopted a foster child for Christmas. Took the wrapped gifts to the foster family. they do not get hardly any money to buy gifts for their foster kids.

I'm also sad I missed it. I passed on it for the past few years - but wish I had at least done the card swap. Hopefully someone will handle it next year.

There are some really good items up now. $5 Amazon gift card for 10 codes. On the old site a $10 Amazon card was almost 700 points!! There is a reward up for a free large popcorn at AMC theaters for 10 codes. Best thing about this one is that the coupon doesn't expire until 9/18 and it can be used multiple times until that date! I normally start decorating the week after Thanksgiving. I get a real tree - so normally put it up the 1st weekend in December. The bigger question is .. when do you take it all down? I always wait until after the Feast of the Epiphany in January.

I've sat out for the past few years. I'm ready to maybe join in the fun this year. I hope someone takes it on I know it is a huge undertaking!
