For ds6 he loves his drum set, Nintendo ds, and portable dvd player. Also his brother got him a Barney personalized dvd, the one with "him" in it. He keeps watching it over and over. It's funny because Barney will say his name and he will say "what?" to him :) The big miss with him was the TAG Reader, but we're going to work on that one For ds18, definetly GH World Tour Band Set. He liked his GPS too, but we had to send it back cause it wasn't working right. Still waiting on the replacement. tokanm- wish I would have seen those drum sticks cause the set that came with ds18's World Tour are cheapos.

I bought ds6's from Leapfrog.com and it only holds 5 books too. Do not see another version of it. But he doesn't seem too interested in it anyway:(

Amazon just stinks! I ordered my ds18 a TomTom GPS for Christmas. It has the text to speech. Well, the text to speech does not work so I called them. The csr wanted to argue with me that it does NOT have text to speech even though the box states it on it and the product info on Amazon's product page says it does too. So he says I can return it and once they receive it they will credit me the money and I can reorder a new one if I want. I said I'd like another one but really don't want to wait all that time. Was told they could send me another one but would charge me for it. I said no way cause we don't use credit cards and had used my debit card for the purchase and don't have that mush extra $$ in it the day after Christmas. So I hung up and called back to speak with a different csr who told me that they would send out a replacement asap at no charge since it is still in stock. GREAT!! :) Or so I thought! I just received an email from Amazon stating it will not ship until January 2 because it is not in stock. But if you go to the product description it says IN STOCK sold by Amazon. I will definetly think twice about ever ordering from Amazon again!!

I FINALLY got the audio for the books to download! But am extremely upset with Leapfrog at their ability to handle the traffic they knew they would get. When your child gets a gift for Christmas you expect them to be able to use it!! Try explaining to a child that they have to wait to play with it because Leapfrog sold a bunch of toys and can't handle the web traffic to make them usable!! I agree, if I had known you needed to download the audio, I would have done it BEFORE Christmas!! What do people without internet access do??? I'm sure there are people without it who bought TAG since I never knew you needed to download them.

I keep trying to log in to my account to download the audio for the books and it won't let me in! Nice when you buy your kids something they can't use

I'm sitting here feeling like I am forgetting something but for the life of me I don't know what it could be This is the 1st year I've had to do all the Santa stuff myself cause dh has to work 3rd shift:( (we're just thankful for the job :)) so I don't have anyone to double check stuff for me. I think I got it all, but I'm going to sit here and watch A Christmas Story (again;) ) for a while and think on it. Merry Christmas everyone!!

I'm with you! My MIL is a B*&$@ from He!! She lies and steals more than most convicted criminals ever have! She doesn't ever see our kids and hasn't bought them Christmas or Birthday gifts in YEARS (or any other gift for that matter) DH doesn't have anything to do with her either. Well, our local Walmart is just rude, period. I can go to any other Walmart and the people who work at them are friendly and courteous, but our local Walmart, you'd be hard pressed to find a friendly person in the place, especially at the Service desk. They will argue with you about anything. I recently had to return a gift one of my kids received from an out of town relative, didn't have the receipt and they couldn't find it. My Walmart argued up and down with me that I had to have it so I took it to a different Walmart and the woman jusr smiled and said I know how that goes but I'll have to put it on a gift card. I said no problem and was done in less than 2 minutes:)

One year I gave my mom and dad each a box of Little Debbie cakes with money inside them. I carefully slit the seal open and put the money in and then super glued it closed. They looked at me like I was nuts because you couldn't tell they had ever been opened :) I eventually had to tell them to open the box and look inside.

Glad I was alble to remind everyone to get batteries I was talking to my mom before we left for Sam's Club this morning and told her what we were after and she asked us to pick her some up too because she forgot them:) She would have had some very unhappy grandchildren on her hands tomorrow:eek: So we got them for her

Well, I didn't forget, but I need to go to Sam's Club today to get their big packs of batteries. It is in a town 45 minutes away and we tried to go yesterday when we took ds6 to his dr. appt. but when we got out of the dr's office it was freezing rain, bad. Took us and hour and a half to get home from a town normally 45 minutes away Lots of accidents along the way Thankfully dh was driving cause I don't do well in ice and snow

What total are you getting? Cause I am still getting $30.40. You do have to put in the FamVid code and then click recalculate. One year MIL gave me a set of ornaments that they had given out free at Kohls on BF. The next year she gave dh $100 each of our boys $75 and me $20. All the while spending LOTS more on her daughter and her kids. My kids never understood why their cousins got more. Now she doesn't give anyone in our family anything cause we no longer talk to her.

UPDATE: So the order arrived today via Fedex (they left it at our door because we weren't home). The box was DESTROYED!! Ripped completely open, and not at the tape, the actual cardboard box was ripped So I opened it to see if the product was damaged. It was a knife set, and the knife block looks ok but the box the knives are in is torn up too (not as bad, just a little.) but the knives appear to be ok. The problem is, the outside box is the ORIGINAL box that the set comes in and is torn up to the point it is unusable. Not going to be a very nice looking gift. So I called JCP customer service. They told me that they could send me out a new set overnighted. GREAT! Then she proceeds to tell me that they would charge my credit card for the new set and would only credit it back once I return the 1st set to the store. WHAT?!?! I used my check card for the purchase and don't have an extra $161 in my checking account for them to take and then wait for them to credit me back(we don't use credit cards)!! It IS Christmas time and I've paid for the item once to be presentable. I calmly explained this to the csr who told me that's all she could do unless I wanted to keep the set and they would credit me $32.10 so I could get a nice box to put the set in. So I asked my dad and he was ok with that as long as the knives and block were ok. Not the best solution (I would prefer a presentable box for such an expensive knife set) but a solution none the less.

We have always went to my grandmother's on Xmas Eve and when we would come home and get the kids in bed we'd spend the rest of the night wrapping presents. She passed away last year and it was the first time in all my life I didn't have anything to do on Christmas Eve so we tried to start a new tradition with my family coming to our house, but it just seemed odd. This year dh has a new job and has to work 3rd shift Xmas Eve. So we decided we'd just have a quite night at home with the kids. The downside is I'll be up wrapping presents by myself this year But we're just thankful for the job he has :)

EVE: If you need another ELF, let me know. I could get a gift in the mail Monday. (I know it probably wouldn't make it there by Christmas, but at least they would have an after Christmas surprise waiting for them:)) It's just sad that so many people haven't received their gifts
