  1. I've ordered 4x from them in the last few weeks and had no problem at all. Each package arrived much quicker then I would have thought. Sorry for those of you having problems.
  2. My 5 year old son woke me up his morning telling me six more days until Christmas and 5 more days until we can open a present (we're opening one gift on Christmas eve. It was cute. I'm done shopping and done wrapping. I have a couple of things still being mailed, but I will wrap them up quickly. I've done sooooo much baking this year. We had my all of my out of state inlaws for a weekend of eating and celebrating. My dd had her Keepers of the Faith Christmas party/potluck and last night we had about 50 friends over (I think 32 were kids) Crazy crazy fun!! I slept late today and then cleaned house and then felt deep relief that I'm done with parties. Well until New Years Eve, but we'll see about that. I'm thinking of just ordering pizza on Christmas now :)
  3. My in-laws came last weekend for our Christmas gathering. I made the pretzel turtles, peanut butter balls, pumpkin rolls, and sweet potato casserole (also a ton of other food, but these are the recipes I got here). Everyone loved all of it--even the sweet potato casserole was gobbled down by family members who claimed they didn't like sweet potatos. :) Thanks I also made green been bacon wraps that went over very well--so well there was none left. 1 lb bacon cut in half 2 cans whole green beans 1 cup brown sugar 1 stick of butter take a piece of bacon and wrap about 4-5 green beans in it. Place all of them on a baking pan. Melt the butter and brown sugar together then pour over the top. Bake at 350 until the bacon is done how you like (we like a crispy bacon so we cook it longer) not exactly health conscience but hey it's once a year :)
  4. not sure if this helps--but we used a pack and play (disney)--I think it was around $70. It had an insert that fit on top of the playpen and then you put the mattress on top. I really liked it--no late night bending over and it gave a little extra room if you have a baby that tosses and turns a lot. I think it could be used for up to three months/15 lbs. Then you would just use the playpen part.
  5. I'm wrapping my dh's itunes gift card with a box of dark chocolate cherries (his fav!) Amy
  6. If you order from buy.com make sure you do a search for coupons--i got $15 off my xbox 360--plus if you decline the magazine offer you can turn in for another $10 rebate Good luck
  7. I'm look for a current code as well if anyone has one tia
  8. we've always used 12oz chili sauce and 10 oz grape jelly--love these
  9. JcPennys I bought 2 pairs of Arizona jeans for dh--13.99 each Target--2 pokemon sets--$10 each, Playdough, petshop pack $7--the store didn't get any of the Hannah Montana 3 packs Meijer--$5 barbie, 19.99 air mattress Big Lots--5 Electric blankets ($130 total, but got $20 gift card/coupons) Kmart--axe gift set ^6.99 Walmart--price matched Meijer's Pet shop playground for $12.50, 2 more $5 barbies, not really a whole lot at any store--spent the most at Big Lots, but we've been looking for a good deal on electric blankets.
  10. There were none at our Target store today--not a customer got one today!!! That was really the only thing I wanted and they didn't even have them for the sale. This is the first time I've went to Target on BF and I doubt I'll be going next year. The line was huge to get in the store--definitely not worth it if they dont' have the product. They had plenty of the other toy items that were on sale but none of the Hannah Montana dolls--oh well
  11. Dear Santa, I have to admit I'm not a computer geek or very techno (as you well know). I'm really a stay at home, homeschooling mom to four wonderful children. I still have aspirations of writing the next great novel. I've always loved writing, but any more I have to write on the fly. I carry around college rule notebooks to jot my ideas, inspirations and Christmas lists inside. Then I have to try to remember to put it on the computer or worse yet I often completely forget my great ideas. What a mess!! If you could please, please get me the Logitech io2 Digital Pen Digital Writing System from geeks.com I would be sooooo happy!! With everything that my family has going on anything that can help me stay organized would be a great asset. I've been good this year!! I'm even hosting a Christmas party for twenty of my inlaws who will also be staying at my house the entire weekend! I usually don't ask for anything for Christmas I'm too busy trying to find the best deals so that my family can have a great Christmas. But this year I've decided it can't hurt to ask--the worst that can happen is that I'll just recieve coal, but with the cost of heating that may be a blessing! Thanks for all that you do and have a wonderful holiday season!! Amy

    some wal-mart rumors

I've been wondering the same thing--the walmart website leads me to believe now that there won't be anymore sales until BF--I thought the sales were to be weekly also.
  13. Kmarts thanksgiving ad looked better then last year. Target had several things that I may try and get. I'm still waiting for Best buy and Walmart
  14. Dh's work always gives him a free turkey for the holidays--They never say the weight on them he just tries to pick out one of the bigger ones. Usually it is dh, me and four kids--lots of leftovers for sandwiches and potpie

    Done WRAPPING!

I've wrapped everything I purchased so far. With four kids and dh plus family to buy for if I waited until I was completely done I would go insane trying to wrap it all. It's just easier if I wrap as I go. However I then have to keep very detailed lists of what I've bought!
  16. My little guy is a tough cookie. I had taken him before to the store and tried to have him look at toys. I didn't really get a good feel for what he wanted. So after I posted I did it again this weekend. First he spent most of the time asking if we could go look at Video games .... he played with some various Cars (the movie) items and play cars and trucks. I asked him if he liked them he said they were okay. I asked him about biocicles and he thought they looked neat.. so maybe :) He likes the crash and shake track in the toyrus big book. He likes Pokemon the show so maybe something along those lines. I will have to look more at Webkinz as well--that might be something he would like as well. He has magnetix already and if I pull them out he enjoys playing with them otherwise he kind of forgets about them. I've tried to pay attention to what he's played with at home this week. He has two sisters so he has played petshop with them w/ dinosaurs thrown into the mix. He used a small box, ruler, tape and paper to build a ship with a sail that he could fit in . He used two empty soda bottles to build a jet pack so he could fly. He used leftover material to build a tent. And he has begged his dad to bring him home big boxes (dad is bringing huge boxes home today). So I've figured out that I can save my money I can just give him my "trash" and he will recycle it into play things and just play with his sisters toys. :) JK You guys have been a great help--I'm going to keep showing him toys and keep thinking outside of the box (no pun intended) like so many have suggested. Seems like my girls are soooo much easier to buy for. Oh well half the fun of Christmas shopping is the challenge! Thanks again Amy
  17. this will be the first year I've been around Big Lots on BF so I can't wait. they have a lot of great deals year round so I'm eager to see what BF brings. Amy
  18. Thanks that gives me some good ideas to look into. He is so tough to buy for and I don't like buying toys that never get played with
  19. I cannot figure out what to get my five year old boy for Christmas. He really likes video games so I'm getting him a new ds game, and xbox 360 game. But I cannot figure out toys for him. He's not into trains, action figures are just okay.....he likes cars, but the last hotwheel set I got him just didn't hold up. Any ideas? Are there any sturdy hotwheels sets? tia Amy
  20. I had told my dh a couple of weeks ago that I really, really wanted my foyer painted as a Christmas gift (very tall, two story and a big pain to paint) I knew he didn't want to paint it so I told him to use any money that he would use on a gift for me toward hiring someone to paint it. any way I went out of state with our three younger children last weekend. My dh and step son painted the foyer for me while I was gone!! It looks incredible. They worked so hard over the weekend and I'm thrilled. I don't care if I get anything else! Amy
  21. my four year old loves stepping on it --even when it is in the bowl--clearly by the time she is done we are not eating it :) Amy
