  1. Went to Target last night to check on their Halloween stuff--candy was 70% off, all other Halloween items were 90% off. I got a bunch of make up for 30-70 cents each, a scream mask for $1.50, a fake cleaver for 20 cents, bunch of great Maleficent costume accessories--her gloves, head piece and staff and a cool black winged cape (wasn't Maleficent, but it works) for just a few dollars total. My kids are already planning a movie to make using all the dress-up stuff I found
  2. Season tickets or passes to something? We are getting our kids season passes to a local amusement park and water park. This could work for sporting events, museums etc. Movie theater gift cards/certificates. For my husband I've considered putting together a "year of dates package" but this might be flexible enough to use for others. Each month has a mini date--maybe in the summer a beach day which includes gift cards to use at Dairy Queen or local icecream shop, deli or sandwich shop gift cards for a quick lunch. Comedy club tickets for a night out or theater tickets for a favorite musical another month (dinner out too), Gift certificates to a local pottery painting studio, Night at a Winebar. Anything the options are really unlimited and each date can cost as little or as much as you want. Each month's date could have it's own envelope stuffed with the gift cards/tickets and plans--so each month could be a surprise. My mom is on a limited income and I've decided this year I will pay her Dish bill up for a certain amount of months. My inlaws always get a gift card to their favorite restaurant--we try to find different ways to present it each year though. We've put it in an empty soda bottle with other odds and ends, we've put it in a clear plastic ornament and a candy dish filled with candy and the gift cards. Make a calendar online using family pictures and put all birthdays, anniversaries etc. on it.
  3. Great ideas! We actually found a pistol crossbow at our local Rural King for around $20--I think that's going in there too!
  4. We've been using it for over a month now and have cashed out twice for a total of about $18. We get it on an egift card and it's sent to my email within a few hours and I've had no problems using it immediately. It's really easy money--I've noticed the last few weeks the scanner hasn't been working so I have to enter the barcode by hand. I'm not sure if that's due to an Iphone update though.
  5. I also end up getting stuff for the house and family on BF-this year I can't think of anything we need, but of course that might change once the ads come out. My best BF gift for myself was Season 1 of the Walking Dead a few years ago. I bought it on a whim since it was the only one left and it hooked me.
  6. It really depends each year on what from my list is available on Black Friday. A lot of times I end up getting stuff before BF due to online sales and stuff. This year I doubt I will be getting too much--my kids are getting one good size gift each and then season passes for Cedar Point/Soak city for next year. I have one gift bought so far and will probably buy another this month. No hurry since my list is thankfully not extensive.
  7. We are all Walking Dead fans here, and my younger kids decided to put together a Zombie Survival themed box for their 23 year old brother for Christmas. We've come up Twinkies, beef jerky, granola bars, spray cheese and a huge can of pudding. Would love to hear some additional ideas if you have any especially any that give a nod toward the show. Thanks Amy
  8. A few days ago I picked up the 20 pc from Sam's club for $14ish--it is very nice!

    shipping

I placed an order on 12/2 (9 days ago) and just got notification that it shipped today. I had actually emailed them about it earlier and got a form email response saying due to the weather there was a delay. Funny thing is when I checked the shipment notification it is shipping from a warehouse here in the state that I live in and the weather hasn't been bad!!

  11. We skipped going out Thursday night and waited until Fri. morning. We got to JCP around 4:15 it was completely dead. We easily got what we needed. Went to Target-same thing, found what we needed and checked out without waiting. We then went to Meijer and it was a little more crowded, but easily managable. We each only had like 2-3 items and went to self checkout. We (along with everyone checking out) had to wait until the sale started at 6am to check out, but we were first in line at the self-checkout--only stood there about ten minutes. We got to Menards about 15 minutes after they opened. They were super busy and there were no carts. However again we got everything we wanted-the associates were GREAT about knowing where all the products were located. We checked out in the garden section-a bit of a line, but not to bad. After we unloaded we went back through the store to see if there was anything else we needed/wanted since our arms were free-still no carts. MY SIL found a couple of items and we spent a much longer time in line checking out. We ate at a local diner and had some coffee to warm up. My SIL decided she wanted a random sweater from Kohls even though we had already done all of our Kohls' shopping online. I figured since it was 9:30am that the lines wouldn't be too bad, but they were terrible inside. lol we decided her random sweater could wait. Went to Sam's club and picked up a few things, and again they weren't busy at all. This is the first time ever we didn't go to Walmart.

  13. I ordered just over $100 worth of stuff this morning and a few hours later I got an email cancelling my entire order. I'm very confused-I used my Kohls card and the charge is pending still, but the order is cancelled. I checked a couple of items and they are still in stock. Hopefully I hear back from them soon! I finally found a coat my teenager loves!
