  1. These 2 sites were mentioned on the Clark Howard show http://www.emailforeclosures.com/ http://www.homesales.gov/homesales/mainAction.do Clark's rule of thumb: Buy 20% below fair market value for homes and 30% below fair market value for condos. Just be wary of buying investment property in areas like Michigan and parts of Ohio where economic growth is not happening because of declining population, decreasing job availability, high taxes or strong unions.
  2. If you choose the cheapest form, aka FREE shipping option...they will ship the cheapest way they can.

  4. Media mail is the slowest form of shipping, also the CHEAPest. Expect it to take the full 2 weeks. Although I have never bought an MP3 player from buy.com, anything I have bought there with free shipping arrived within 1 week. NO need to upgrade and actually PAY for shipping
  5. The automatic ringer will break tomorrow, and you'll have to roll it by hand! http://www.riverrestresort.com/images/antiquewasher.jpg
  6. Forget that! Save a ton and go to http://www.monoprice.com/home/index.asp
  7. Plus about $20 shipping. I just bought the c7280 @ Staples online...$179.98 + tax shipped! It is $299.98 with a $120 coupon @ their site! http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?storeId=10001&jspStoreDir=Staples&productId=190482&cmSearchKeyword=c7280&fromUrl=home&cmArea=SEARCH&catalogId=10051&langId=-1
  8. None of those models scored well according to Consumer reports. Here's their Quick picks For fine performance and efficiency: • LG WM0642H[W] , $900 • Frigidaire Gallery GLTF2940F , $650, CR Best Buy Best if your budget is tight: • GE WJRE5500G[WW] , $480, CR Best Buy • Estate ETW4400T[Q] , $400
  9. That is where we bought ours...they even delivered it for FREE, the store was about 25 miles from my house...across the state line! They are great!
  10. Can you say, Natural Gas? I never run out :) WEBER rules, none better for the $$$.
  11. I heard something interesting that may help when you get a human...but can NOT understand what they are saying. When you call and get a prompt that asks press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish...choose 2 You will almost always be transfered to a call center in Mexico, where most customer service reps are bilingual. If you get a Spanish speaking rep that doesn't speak English, just say "No, No, I need English." They will usually transfer you to someone in the US. It's worth a try anyway :)
  12. Being in a somewhat northern climate... I would stay clear of the fiberglass pools (think huge bathtub). Those are for the south only! We have a steel sided, concrete bottom that has a vinyl liner. We love it, and can NOT wait for summer to get here...like elena 398 said, best thing we did for the family. Idon't know how much just having concrete experience will help in the whole pool install, but Good Luck if you decide to tackle it.
  13. Do a google search for VOIP or voice over internet protocol, you will find many options that will beat the local phone/cable companies bundle offers. Of course, YMMV. I have a company called VOIP.com for my phone service, it was $199 for 1 year of service...no taxes, extras, nothing. Completely unlimited local and long distance. You do need a high speed internet connection though.
  14. This is very possible. I have been looking @ this exact printer for a few months now, and the price HAS gone up and down many times...sometimes even 3 times each day!
  15. Isn't there an option to change the date you want it shipped? I know there is on domestic mail. If a letter carrier wants to be picky, they can refuse to take it as the date is "stale" but very few even look. The date does matter. The USPS is measured for service by that date, so the mailer IS responsible for mailing on the date on the label. BTW, great info, I have never shipped other than domestic for fear of customs.
  16. Copied from Clark Howard's site... Buy a manufacturer's extended warranty or one from your own auto insurer. Don't buy a third-party contract. <--that would include a dealer.
  17. I would ask for a manager and explain it to him briefly...the worst they can say is no.
  18. At what point does one decide that shipping is too much? And isn't that just an opinion???? Remember, it is called shipping & handling. It's obvious some people think that it is wrong to charge anything more than actual shipping, some think it is wrong to markup shipping more than $x.xx, some think it's the final price that matters. <---ME! In case anyone is wondering...Ripn does not stand for Rippin people off on eBay I usually try to set S&H as close to actual if not exact when I sell.
  19. I guess you missed my point...IF the end price is the same...what does it really matter. Yes, it may be unethical or against ebay rules technically...but the end result is the same in my example (which was a bit of an exaggeration) If someone is duped by an auction and get burned on shipping...shame on THEM for not reading.
  20. If seller A sells 1 widget for $2 and has an $18 S&H fee, but seller B sells same widget for $18 and has a $2 S&H fee... Who cares who charged what for Shipping? It's gotta be the final price that matters...if you feel shipping is too high, don't buy. but if you think it's a good overall deal, does it matter? as Forest Gump would say...Shipping is as Shipping does...or was it Life is like a box of Widgets? As to the OP, seems to me that first auction ($119.98) was the better deal...even if you can win the 2nd @ the 99¢ , you will pay an extra penny :)
  21. I will stick with T-Mobile then. I always pay less than $100 for 1000 minutes..good for 1 year :)
  22. I may be assuming all companies are the same, but if they have a scan showing it as delivered...it was delivered. At least that is how the PO works...even if it was delivered somewhere else...a scan is proof of delivery, you can't make a claim. Unless there was a signature required, then you could have a case.
  23. try here...always free shipping and no tax (except in IL) http://www.deepdiscount.com/CDs_stcVVcatId462366VVviewcat.htm
