  1. Using SideStep...I see 2 diff AirTran flights via SFO as an alternative to SJC with a stopover in Atlanta. Delta (does fly to SJC) is next cheapest @ $379.19, AA (goes to SFO) is $402.20. 2. You will probably never see AM in a portable device...the antenna would be way too large..FM just uses the cord to the earphones as the antenna. None of my Rio's ever got good FM reception. A friend owns the 512 mb Sansa ( I don't know the model #) but he claims the FM works great...even indoors. Buy local :)
  3. Obviously, the OP is looking for tips on prepaid... I can't find any provider that will offer me anything under $20/ month per phone. I pay $7 per phone ...for me, it works :)
  4. My wife & I use Cingular...used to be AT&T. As long as you aren't a heavy user, prepaid is OK. We spend around $14/month for the 2 phones total. It's easier to do that when you have 2 phones. I use more minutes...and we can switch phones when I get low but don't want to add more minutes. If you buy a $25, $50 or $75 card, minutes last for 90 days. $100 card lasts for 180 days. You get a new expiration date after adding to the account IF you add before the 90 or 180 is up. The $25 card gives you minutes that = 25¢/minute
  5. We have our slide from our Step2 pool set next to the tramp..seems to work just fine, you might find a cheap one at a yard sale.
  6. Excellent deal...just searched Ebay..$20 there shipped for an XL Packers
  7. If you look at Ebay's General Announcements http://www2.ebay.com/aw/marketing.shtml you will notice that they announced the 10¢ sale 1 day before it happened. I would just keep checking back every day...unless someone else knows a better way
  8. To keep it simple, I just buy the Energizers @ SamsClub. I read alot of reviews for different brands of AA ans AAA rechargeables... Conclusion, you can save about $5 buying no-names vs. Energizer/Duracell etc. But you will notice a difference in hours of use... along with longevity. Advice, buy name brand :)
  9. My friend owns 2 of those Sansa 512 models. They are very nice and easy to use. $30 is a GREAT price as well..Grab 1 up ASAP!
  10. taiyo yuden are great blanks ...as long as you get "real" and not fake taiyo yudens... meritline.com is known to sell the real taiyo discs. Some Sony blanks are manufactured by Taiyo Yuden as well. A trick is to look on the package label for "Made In Japan" and do NOT buy if you see "Made In Taiwan" I was @ Walmart today...they sell Sony 8X DVD+R's in a 25 pack=Made in Taiwan. Sony DVD+R's in a 50 pack=Made in Japan. The labels looked the same except for the country. Ridata & Verbatim are great discs too. Just a tip...burn at 4X even if you have a faster burner. Speed kills quality when it comes to video. Look for under $0.40/disc as a good starting point. $0.25/disc would be a great find. :)
  11. Have you ever checked the burned DVD with the Nero CD/DVD Speed program? You will see many, many, many errors.<---Can you tell I don't like Memorsux dvd's? I was amazed when I ran a check on some of my dvd's. Memorex dvd's are well known to be inferior blanks. They may wind up being "truly blank" in a few months/years. Don't get me wrong, cheap is great! But if the end result is loss of data...have you really saved anything?
  12. Cheaper now @ Amazon Memorex 4.7GB 8x DVD+R (50-Pack Spindle) $14.99 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002ER3BS/sr=8-1/qid=1139617277/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-8815517-5838438?%5Fencoding=UTF8 Memorex 4.7GB 8x DVD-R (50-Pack Spindle) $14.99 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002ER3B8/sr=8-2/qid=1139617277/ref=pd_bbs_2/002-8815517-5838438?%5Fencoding=UTF8 IF you want Memorex blanks, read this whole thread first...Then decide for yourself if this is really a "bargain". http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/232406
  13. Walmart seems to have great prices on select grocery items, just like Sams Club. We have a supermarket called Woodmans near us, which is usually lower than most Walmart/Sams prices. If you pay attention to which items are lower cost...you can save (without driving all over wasting the GAS)
  14. As a side note, Amazon.com is great about having the membership not renew for $80 after 3 months. Just goto MY ACCOUNT, and pick "Manage your Amazon.com Prime membership" under "Subscriptions Management". Then just click on the button to not renew/upgrade after 3 months. As simple as that, they wont charge you to renew it and you dont have to worry about canceling it as the day approaches. No hassle. It will then say something like this: "Your trial membership will not upgrade to a full membership automatically on April 28, 2006" Be sure to do just that...OR this will happen... As the 3-month free trial period ends, if you want to join Amazon Prime, do nothing. At that point we will enroll you in a 12-month membership and charge a $79 annual fee to the credit card listed below. If you are not interested in joining Amazon Prime after the free trial, that's okay, too. We make it easy to cancel online any time before the trial ends, and we'll even send you a reminder e-mail along the way. We're hoping you'll like the membership and will want to continue.
  15. Seagates are one of the few (if not the only) that still carry a 5 year warranty. Just be careful of overheating when using it in your enclosure. I have friends who roasted drives due to heat when using those external enclosures. Read the warranty to see if it will be voided if you use an internal drive in an external enclosure.
  16. The way I read it, everyone is eligible. Just make NEW deposits during the period...and you will get the 4.75% on those deposits.
  17. From the ING site... For example, using the Orange Savings Account APY from December 31, 2005 (3.80%), all New Funds that are deposited on January 19, 2006, will yield 4.75% APY for 87 days until April 15, 2006, and would yield 3.80% APY after that date. So, the blended APY for the first year after account opening is 4.03%. The blended APY for new funds that are on deposit for fewer than 87 days will be lower, as it may vary depending on the number of days the promotional rate is earned. The non-promotional APY is variable and may change during the Sale Period. The best part is... ING DIRECT retains the right to withdraw this offer at any time.

    ebay codes?

I just tried to use the C11-GiftGuide code... This Redemption Code has expired and can no longer be used.
  19. I pay $99 for a 1 year supply of 2 week disposables from Americas Best Contacts & Eyeglasses every January...Hmmm, time to make an appt! They are comparable with the 1800 Contacts price last time I checked, plus no wait time as they are in stock :)
  20. Here's a very good player, but it's $50 ...I own 2 of them and have had NO problems ever :) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000204SWE/ http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000204SWE.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
