When the founder of Walmart was alive he always closed all WM on thanksgiving to give employees time with their friends. But after he passed away his children decided to open up. They had huge article the first year they stayed open. But his family wanted to add more shopping days for the consumer.
More shopping days for the consumer but another day of agony for the Wal-Mart worker.

I beg to differ - Black Friday is all about getting the best deals! I don't care for standing in-line for 3 hours @ Best Buy or any other store for that matter... especially in Chicago... where it SNOWED today. :)

My two local Targets are unusually empty on Black Friday. Like someone else said, I walk into Target around 5-ish and can still get everything on my list, no lines. It's great.

The Dell Inspirons 1200 ain't worth much, imo. I had one and the DVD combo drive went out of it within 4 months and the hard drive crashed 2 months after that.
Just my opinion on them...
Manufacturers such as HP/Compaq, Dell, Acer, Gateway, etc will use the same hardware.

I also have worked retail and I agree that I was never allowed to accept tips... Here is a great idea though, what about gift certificates to fast food places? I know McDonald's sells them in denominations of $5. Great idea, though sperdue!

Cingular.com has the RAZR for 249.99 prepaid, so I don't know what's going on. Nevertheless, I want one if it's 88 dollars!!!!!

TiVo question - (I've had various answers): Must you have the monthly TiVo service to use a TiVo device? If not, what features do you lose - or what is possible WITHOUT monthly $ervi$e?
Yes, you must have TiVo service to program recordings. If you have a PC, I would recommend a PVR card instead.
