I suppose that will work.

I live down the street from a strip mall that includes Target and Staples. Across the street is Wal-Mart and Office Max (Yes, go figure... Who ever developed that is a... well, nevermind.) So all four of these stores are within a .5 mile radius of each other and within walking distance from my house.
Anyone else from Palatine, IL? Woot.

The door-busters from CompUSA will not be available online.
-
Clearly you need to refuel with some Thanksgiving leftovers!
I go to an electronics door-buster sale, like Best Buy or Circuit City, then I go directly to Target. The lines in Best Buy are usually ridiculous so it takes a good chunk of the morning. I go home and have lunch/early dinner then hit up the mall. (Woodfield in Schaumburg, IL).
-
I know that my local Best Buy has beefed up security and does not allow a run at the door. I think they allow about fifty in first, then close the door, another fifty, etc.

I don't know if I could fall asleep. Just b/c im in a strange place, probably will have had a couple sodas and some coffee.
Yes, a hot cup of coffee is a must. Preferably from Dunkin' Donuts :).

I would agree.

I hope Lost is one of the box sets :)

From the ad:
eMachines Celeron M Desktop w/ 17" Monitor - $149.99
That computer definately wouldn't exist. Only a very few number of special motherboards have adapters to allow an Intel mobile processor to be used in a desktop chipset. I highly doubt emachines would use one. Also, this price seems very low for including a 17" monitor.
WOW! I didn't even notice that... I have never seen a pre-built desktop rig with a Celeron M processor.

Any word of when the print ad will be out? I'm sorry if I'm being annoying, just wondering.
-
Before anyone atempts such a thing, please check with your local Wal-Mart to make sure they will allow it.
-
The Wal-Mart notebooks will be next to impossible to obtain. You're local Wal-Mart will only have a dozen or so, no more, I guarantee it.
-
I usually bring a friend or two. We converse with others in-line, not unlike we do here. I usually go to BB, Target, etc so we discuss electronics.
-
Practically? There is! My sis used to live in Chicago and had like 5 w/ in blocks(walking distance.)
True, true.

I'm thinkin bout snatching the 26" olevia lcd tv, but dont want to wait in line, any former/current employees (or just gurus) of compusa that could give advice?
Also, the 40HR tivo unit is just $19.99 after 100 rebate and 1 yr sign up, is that a good deal in your opinion..whats the monthly service fee?
Thanks for all the advice!
1ST POST!!!!
That Tivo deal is only 20 dollars less than tivo.com. I mean I know that's actually a 50% savings but now you may not need to stand in line for several hours in the cold to obtain one.
Anyway, I think that tv tuners are of better value anyway!! :)
I have a Leadtek Winfast PVR Expert. It cost $45 dollars. It installs inside the computer. I can record any show to my hard drive in amazing quality and even transfer the recordings to CD or DVD. There are NO MONTHLY FEES. Just $45 once. There are cheaper ones as well, even HD ones.

I guess Wal-Mart will have one heck of a holiday season! No CompUSA for me.
-
I hate rebates. I say as cosumers we boycott them to force retailers to offer deals up-front.
-
Yes, you need to sign up for a year of AOL. In turn you will recieved a $250 CompUSA GC. The prices shown are Regular price MINUS $250 MINUS MORE REBATES. Not a good deal at all.
-
Can these deals be bought online? I don't have a compusa near me.
The deals on the first page are definately in-store only.
-
As I type these up, I'm also really unimpressed. For so many I'm thinking "you can get that cheaper online right now". I'm sure there will be a few deals, but those stupid rebates really kill any of the good deals. Might as well advertise things like;
42" Plasma HDTV - $9.99*
*$2999.99 - $2990.00 that you borrowed from your dad = $9.99 final price
-
Exactly.
-
Yep, that's a big let down. And it's kind of shady for them to put the after-rebate prices so big in the ad. I'll be including the "real" prices when I add them to the database
Good idea. Shady indeed.
-
Actually, is anyone else as dissapointed in the sale as I am? I don't want to sign up for a year of AOL! Argh.
-
Thank you!!!!!!!!
Target, where are you?
