That is awfully strange... My friend had 90 BBB (obtained on eBay) and she was allowed to use them on the door-buster laptop.

If Seagate does not honor the rebate, report them here:
"If you've been wronged by a PC vendor, send a full description of your complaint to the Watchdog. Please include your full name, home town, and telephone number. Letters may be edited for space and clarity. Due to the large amount of email we receive, we cannot personally respond to each letter."

How absolutely sickening.

Just an incentive for working there... I don't see any wrong-doing.

Target is the best! I just walked into Target about an hour ago... I planned to do a lot of BF shopping but my niece was born on Monday and I changed all my plans... I had to go to Target today just to get some formula, diapers, and some premie onesies for my sister and I got a copy of the Simpsons Season Six and Simpson's Road Rage for GBA @ 3 in the afternoon! The shelves were STOCKED! I was very glad.

I sleep in the buff. It's too cold for that.
Ignoring your first comment, I too think it will be too cold... even fully clothed. We got an inch of snow today! Didn't stick though.

256MB is not even sufficient to run Windows effectively so that will need to be upgraded.
Also, let me just say that it is quite easy to install ram... like putting toast in a toaster... :). You just have to be careful.
I know that some people are completely uncomfortable installing things in a computer, but trust me, paying someone $60-70 dollars is waaay to much. Get a friend to do it for you.

I got my ad today.

Just think of it this way: $3.44 is LESS THAN RENTING!!!!!!
But I'm not helping, am I? :)

Whats the "L"?
The "L" is our rapid transit system... It short for ELEVATED... We have rapid transit subways as well as miles of track above ground. Woot.

And they don't have a Staples there either. So they can't lure me in.
But there is a Circuit City, Best Buy, CompUSA, and Target :). (Not directly in the mall, but surrounding it).

Way too far for me to go. Chicagoans have a disadvantage there.
Really? Where in Chicago are you? Last week I drove from Lincoln Park to Palatine in a record-breaking 17 minutes (obeying all traffic laws), so I know it can be done! And this was around 11-ish on a Saturday. I doubt there will be much traffic on Friday.
-
Ha. Too bad it will be 31 degrees on Friday in Schaumburg... that's the daytime HIGH. So at around 3 a.m. it should be about 10 degrees with the wind blowing. Har, har. har. I almost froze waiting for the L this morning, can't imagine how Friday will be.

50 bucks is no joke.

This is directly from the Woodfield website:
"EARLY-BIRD HOLIDAY PAJAMA GIVEAWAY
The first 100 pajama-clad early bird shoppers to arrive prior to 5 a.m. on Friday, November 25, at the mall's Door 1, next to Todai Seafood Buffet, still wearing pajamas, will receive a free Woodfield Gift Card valued at $50 and will also receive a pair of wearable reindeer antlers, distinguishing them as true paragons of perennial present-purchasing."

It will NOT have a DVD burner. It's a CD burner and a DVD drive combo. It can WRITE CDs, PLAY DVDs.

I don't know if all Wal-Marts do it but our now has electronic check where they actually hand the check back to you and you sign a piece of paper....I know our Old Navy also does it, so there really isn't a reason they shouldn't take them.
e-checks. Yes, quite convenient.

Stores will take your money no matter what form it's in!
CC's sometimes will limit your account activity so if you use it at several stores in a short period of time the computer may not allow the sale and you'll have to use cash/check.
It's a protection agaist fraud, protects both the store and the user. If the card was stolen and being used at stores alll over, the computer picks up the activity and refuses to approve a sale after a while.
It's a nice saftey feature until a day like BF comes when I run from store to store and purchase hundreds of dollars in each store. It only happened once but, I learned from that experience. Carry more than 1 card and or cash/checks!
True. I've witness this happening plenty of times.

Nintendo 64
in 2005
I actually found that EBGames and GameStop has really expensive N64 titles. I love classic gaming and I always try to collect games that are widely recognized as the "best" for each classic system... I get most of my games on eBay. It is truly a great resource! -
Let me just say that Target is a classy store .

I know emachine used to have a bad rap for breaking several years ago, are they now as reliable as an HP, Compaq, Gateway, or Sony just to name a few? Why do they always seem like their price is so much cheaper than the other makes on comparable models with the same amount of guts inside?
The CPU and amount of memory, etc may be the same, but the other parts (motherboard, hard drives, video cards, sound cards, fans, etc) are of lesser quality, but not necessarily bad... I would definately recommend one for light computer usage... ie surfing the web/email, word processing.

Oh, last year we went to Nebraska Furniture Mart for this portable DVD player for my son. It took me exactly 8 minutes to get the player and get in line. My daughter was stoked. Well, four hours later I finally got through the line. She had went to Burger King (inside the store), taken a nap and found about 10 extra things to buy. It was nasty!! She told me that she is banning me from going to NFM any more on BF. Oh well, they usually don't have much I want anyway.
Ha! Yes, I love going with friends and taking turns while standing in-line to check out... Usually you're in such a euphoric mood you come back with a bagillion other dvd's, cd's, etc.

About 5 years ago my sister and I were Black Friday novices and we went to Best Buy at around 9 a.m. to casual shop. We stood in line for about 3 hours waiting to purchase a regularly-priced DVD player and one door-buster DVD. I just think it's pretty funny, looking back on it. :)
Did they let you use BBB?
