  1. you think that's bad? i once actually placed an order on circuitcity.com for an ipod (this was last christmas when everyone wanted one) & selected instore pickup for the closest store that was listed as having it in stock. when i got there the next morning they didnt have any in stock & nothing put aside for me. dont they have to pull the item off the shelves & put it aside as soon as my online transaction gets to them? they basically already had my money & i didnt have my item...the manager was fairly nice about it & kept apologizing, then later while they were searching the store for one said a truck had just arrived with their shipment & he was looking for the type of ipod i wanted, but an hour later the truck was unloaded & they hadnt received any of them! so after waiting a total of about 2 hrs (sitting on the floor), the manager said he would give me a 40gb ipod (i ordered the 20gb one, $300), which would normally cost $400, for $350, & i was so annoyed i just agreed & left

needless to say i will never do anything like that again, but to anyone else in the same situation, if they dont already have your credit card info, consider yourselves lucky

Now they have this new policy that if you come to the store, arrive at merch pick-up, and do not recieve your item in 20 minutes or less, they give you a 20 dollar gift card. I'm sorry this happened to you.

  2. Thanks for the advice I will take it out and check it today before sending in the rebate. Ironically the rebate form does NOT require the UPC code, just the receipt. I will make copies of everything before I mail.

Ooops. That's a first! I've never come acorss a rebate like this.

  3. If you send in the rebate you won't be able to return it, sorry. You will need to cut out the UPC symbol and send in the original recepit, two things that are necessary for returns... That's why rebates require those, actually, imagine if you bought items, got money back in the form of a rebate and then had the liberty to return it! :)
  4. This happens all too often... people need to learn to open the box right then and there. Best Buy needs to train their employees to recognize the difference between a computer and WOOD.

This is particularly common with high end video cards... people replace them with ethernet cards. Best Buy needs to train the employees at the customer service desk to recognize the difference!

THAT HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!!!!!! I bought a video card in one of the chain stores and inside was an old dusty 28.8K modem! But the store took it back...

People will go to any lenghts... This box was perfectly sealed too... No sign of tempering. Now, however, there are those little windows that display the serial number and the cashier needs to input it in the register at checkout to prevent this form occuring.

  5. Capitalism my friend. If someone wanted to purchase one of everything simply to take it into the parking lot and smash it in a display of protest...oh well. If he was first, he can do whatever he wants with it. The idea is buy for little sell for more. These "Ebay squatters" were in line fair and square.

    I totally agree.

  6. speaking of the xbox....there was a huge sign in Kb toys saying that they would not be carrying the xbox360.....wonder why? Not that I want one, was just curious if anyone knew why!?

Really? Sounds like a really bad holiday strategy!

  7. I believe there are 2 options...

1.) 24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive [included in Price]

    2.) 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability [add $89 or $3/month2]

If you have a desktop with a dvd burner then I would just go with the first option, if you don't currently own a dvd burner, and would like one, then I would go fot the second option. Be aware, however, that you can buy an internal dvd burner for your desktop PC for around $45 dollars, the one above is $90 dollars, essentially. Depends if you need to burn dvd's on the "go" or if this will be your primary computer.

  8. You should definitely pursue this matter... It is not your problem this was not available online... Completely their fault and they should honor it... Don't take no for an answer... If the camera is all sold out they should offer a similar replacement camera or at least a raincheck.
