I was in Christopher & Banks last night and the sales lady informed me that they are running a sale Saturday and Sunday Only. 40% off the entire store!! Needless to say I found some items and they were happy to hold them for me. This kind of sale is unheard of for this store, run don't walk!

Try Walmart brick and mortar tonight at midnight first!

I recently did a search on a store's website for the most popular gifts for kids this age. I couldn't believe that 95% of them were in the $200 range. Do you think our parents had this much trouble buying for us at this age? Now that my kids have reached this age I'm trying to think about things that they might need for college, hoping that if I buy good quality stuff it will last. Anyway.. my suggestions are a good board game. I've been looking into cranium, besides it'll get the whole family together. How about an alarm clock that plays the MP3 player. An electric toothbrush? Don't they make tennis shoes now that are the color of your football team? Movie gift certificates. Start a tool set for him? Maybe a small tool box and a hammer and such. If I think of anything else I'll check back, good luck to you, I'm sure you'll find something.

I'm ashamed of whoever called John Simley's home phone! I hope that we have members with class and that he is wrong. I don't believe that we have posted his or anyone's home phone number. I think that he owe's gottadeal an apology for that. (After reading the other thread I did see that someone has posted his home number and that it was immediately removed.) But gottadeal is not promoting this type of behaviour!!!! On another note, us "internet shoppers" - we may do some cherry picking, but on the other hand how many of you out there have bought something just because of price? We buy up their junk too! And they don't need us?

Seatle Kirotv: http://www.kirotv.com/smallbusiness/14373014/detail.html Looks like it is the same story as the one above though, just a different station I guess.

Make sure we bookmark Sarah Clark's phone number for future reference then!
-
It's the media relations office, so let's hope they get the point!

Susan should get a raise! In my opinion based on the 2 telephone calls I've heard she has handled she has done an excellent job.
-
I must be the lucky one then. I had a NICE conversation with the lady who answered the phone. She was very polite, as was I. If they won't speak about it any more than we have to use the power of the internet (email) and media, so hopefully CNN will bring it up on their headlines tonight.
-
I did not get to speak with Sarah Clark, I spoke with whoever answered as "Sarah Clarks office" very nice woman! She promised to pass my concerns on to the legal department and the powers that be. FYI: She also mentioned that Walmart.com will be having SECRET sales during the holiday season. She said that we need to keep an eye on the website and they will be having unadvertised secret sales (available online only) beginning at Midnight but didn't know which days. She told me I could pass it along, so here I am.

I found a phone number that actually rings to a person! Sarah Clark did the press release when Walmart announced their new CEO, Eduardo Castro-Wright. Anyway here's her info! [email protected] Tel: 479-273-8771

I've sent an email through their feedback form. I truly hope that other stores don't follow suit, I also hope that their is a blurb on the national news tonight so that Walmart can't push this through the back door quietly. I can't imagine that they would continue through with their threat if it gives them bad publicity.
-
I was wondering something about that as well. What about freedom of speech? If their ad is "copyrighted", then I can understand not being able to reproduce it under their threat. But what about a summary written by another person about what the ad said. How could that be "copyrighted"?

I just came across this on the CNN website! I can't believe it! Another good reason to stop shopping WalMart.

Wow! Thanks!

I've seen a lot of "pink" nfl stuff at meijers. I also saw some at Kohls. JC Penney's is another good place. "Pink" nfl stuff is pretty hot right now, so I'm sure you could find something almost anywhere. I'd sign up for email alerts from the Indy pro shop - they'll usually send you discount emails. Amazon has a cute pink Colts hat for $10 but you have to pay shipping.

Looks like we missed this sale, it seems to have been during the 16 hour sale in August, from what I can find.

I don't have a Linens and Things near me, that's too bad. I need a new crock pot and would love to have the little dipper but now I've got to find a Linens & Things. Is that still on sale now?
-
I think they are a part of Bontons?
