  1. Cool prizes this year. It's actually cool this morning! Sub forums opened, people coming back, it's that Black Friday time of year!
  2. I'm actually done with my son aside from his stocking! I've been shopping since March though. I like spreading out the buying. Know what I getting for pretty much everybody, or already have it. I need a deal on Ancestry kits though!
  3. Love the shirt! Even if I don't need much this year I'm getting excited!!!
  4. Ooh.... But I'm actually debating not doing Black Friday this year??? (Turns tail and runs from the rotten tomatoes being flung) Just not much I need that will be on sale this year. Mid way thru building our house. Kid does NOT need anything after my consignment sale shopping spree this week, most of my shopping is done... Might do the mall for BBW but that's really it unless the ads are spectacular. And I'll probably go after the rush to Wal-Mart but it's probably the last year we'll have my dad. I want to enjoy dinner with him and our family instead of rushing. Does posting in the t-shirt club count Brad?
  5. Happy September everyone! I got a bunch of birthday month emails too! Was a nice surprise, I usually don't notice til later in the month.
  6. Message sent to Brad. 2 hours away from my other Black Friday - huge kids consignment sale! So many deals to be found tonight!
  7. Kash, I had noticed the Aldi's stepping up the toy selection but hadn't made that connection! I've found some really nice toys and deals there lately. The water table my mom got for $40 at TRU is on clearance at Aldi for $14!
  8. Or there's lots of school supply drives for you and anyone else wanting to buy school supplies. Get the experience and help someone all at the same time!
  9. Brio and the Thomas wooden tracks/trains are interchangeable I think? We have a bunch of the magnetic Thomas trains so I was thinking maybe Thomas but I know they work on the cheaper sets that pop up for sale around Christmas. I don't want to go too crazy with them because he has a tub of battery powered trains and Trackmaster tracks in storage for either next or year after next Christmas/Birthday. But he's no where near big enough for those and he's been really liking the train set at B&N. So intro set. I just hate buying everything online! But we're down to one mall, Walmarts, Target and a Sears that is supposedly going out of business sometime after the holidays.
  10. Any speculation on what store will have the best toys since Toys r Us is gone? I'm pretty well done with kiddo's Christmas and birthday right after. Still need a tricycle and maybe a wooden trainset. Other then that, waiting on ads to see if there's anything awesome he'd like.
  11. Here for August! Doing another session of swimming lessons with my puddle duck toddler who will 18 months in two weeks. Why does the baby stage go so fast???
  12. Probably won't be one stop shopping but Target has a bigger toy selection then Wal-Mart does in general, with a better variety. I don't like Target usually but they're doing toy clearance right now so I've been looking more often.
  13. At the rate I'm going, I'll be done Christmas shopping by September, aside from BBW and doing stockings. What will I do with myself on Black Friday this year of all I need to get is BBW stuff??? Prime Day took care of the hard to buy for nephew (favorite author had lots of discounts) and my kiddo can be done. His birthday is two months later so I have to try and NOT go overboard.
  14. Only one I know and use is camelcamelcamel.com and it only tracks Amazon. My mom bought my sister, SIL, and I each a sewing machine on Black Friday a few years ago. I think she said they'd went lower somewhere else but not enough for her to make an extra trip.
  15. It was nuts! But fun. We got there at 7:15, 15 minutes after the mall doors opened. We were 30th or so in line. Store didn't open til 9. Kiddo loves his new friend. He was cuddling with it and eating lunch at the same time. It's almost as big as he is! The line was WORSE then Black Friday times two!!!!! It wrapped around the mall and ended up outside! So glad we got there early or I wouldn't have even tried to get the deal. $1 for a $35 animal!
  16. I'm crazy. Build a Bear is doing a pay your age thing, kiddo will get a Bear for $1. It's going to be crazy but I'm needing a BF type crowd. Ready for Christmas time!!!!
  17. Here for July. The lovely (not), hot, yucky month of July. I'm tired of heat. And humidity. Can it be November yet?????
  18. You will all laugh at me. I dreamed of was Thanksgiving morning and I'd forgotten about Black Friday! I hadn't looked at any ads, no plan, no list, nothing! I actually woke up my husband freaking out because it seemed so real. He told me that it was 3 months too early for me to be worrying about it yet and to just go back to sleep. Better then my usual bad dreams at least. I thought it was funny but looking at it types out it doesn't seem as funny. Oh well. Stay cool everybody, this heat is awful!! 105 heat index today, we ran our errands early and got home to the air conditioning!
  19. Started swimming lessons with the kiddo today. He jumped in holding onto two fingers right when they blew the whistle. He seemed quite pleased with himself- his mama wouldn't be proud of him or anything either though.
  20. Last year I did most of my shopping on Wednesday, because most of the sales were already going. I only went to Wal-Mart TG night and I ran in TRU (which is almost gone now) and went to BBW on Black Friday. I honestly don't know if I'll need to go out at all aside from a Wal-Mart run for traditions sake. And Bass Pro because I like it and a lot of their stuff is in-store only. I'm almost done shopping for Christmas already. Unless there's something amazing in the ads or the other stores really step up their games on the amount of toys offered with TRU gone I'm not sure it's worth it to me. Which makes me sad. Next year when we're done building our house and I'm ready to start decorating/switching furniture/new tv etc? That will be another story.
  21. Here for June! Where'd May go? This year is flying by.
  22. I'm officially half done Christmas shopping. Have to love clearance!!!
  23. I found something besides Black Friday that will get me up at 3:30 in the morning. I watched the royal wedding til coverage ended at 8:30. Then I babysat my nephew, took him and my toddler to the park, the store, and out to eat. And then ended up with the other three nieces/nephew for an hour. Still have to Sunday School prep and clean DS room. Running on coffee.
  24. Red could be nice, it is Christmasy.... Brad, you may need to have an actual poll and make us vote on shirt colors. LOL.
  25. It was 90 today. Bluck. We had one week of Spring and now it's full blown Summer. And the AC in my car is out, and probably not getting fixed. It costs as much to fix it as the car is worth. Trying to tough it out if we can. But yuck. We're selling an extra vehicle and once it sells we're going to find me a better car/suv. Then the hubby gets to drive my old very fuel efficient car to work instead of his gas guzzler truck. Just wish the old truck would sell, no AC in the Midwest sucks. And the toddler gets too hot really easy if we're stuck in traffic, I can't roll his window down or he'd be throwing toys out the window. He'd think it was a fun game. Toddlers.
