  1. I like the alternative color (as long as it's not super crazy or neon, maybe a lighter color/different shade of blue? Dark colors get HOT in the crowds) or the extra little seal on the sleeve.
  2. Have to stuff Easter eggs today. We finally get to have the kids' egg hunt tomorrow. It's rained or snowed every weekend since Easter, but its in the 70s and beautiful outside! And deal hunting, I got packs of a good brand of diapers for $3 a pack! Store clearancing off one brand to switch to a different brand. 9 jumbo packs for a hair over $30 after tax. I am quite pleased. And the pregnancy resource center will be too, half are for them. I'm ready for Black Fridays ads and planning though. Budget is tighter this year since we're mainly cash-flowing our house construction. Already bought a few presents. Gotta love Lightning Deals and Walmart clearance. And library book sales. Have a truck for DS unless I let him have it early. Got little clutches for my 3 older nieces, $1 each, with their initals on them. Plan to stuff them with travel size BBW soaps and sprays. Or pocketbacs. Not sure, depends what I pickup on BF. Got American Girl and Junie B Jones books at a book sale. Nice, gifting quality. And I have my son's Elmo bedding set saved, watching to see if it'll hit $30 before I buy, and stuff for my mom picked out. Am I crazy shopping this early??? Someone, please say I'm not the only one?
  3. I cleaned out my clothes. I found last year's BF shirt, think I can go down a size for this year! Woohoo! Bye bye baby weight; 10 pounds down since the beginning of November!
  4. We went from snow on Sunday to it was 87 today! Got my son's birthday water table assembled and he played in it all morning. He went from playing in the snow four days ago to wearing nothing but a diaper splashing in the water today. Weather, make up your mind! We're back to mid forties for Sunday-Monday, then 70s, followed by another drop. This year is nuts!
  5. It's snowing! We never get enough to play in usually but we made two snowmen and chased the chickens with snowballs. My son had a ball!
  6. When's he going to get back? In time for Christmas? I hope you had a great visit with him! Hoping he stays safe.
  7. Anyone know if the TRU closing sales have went to the next tier of discounts? Like going from 30% off to up to 50%? I don't want to go back if it's still 5%-30% off. I'll just spend more money then I need to. Have a few outside toys I have my eye on and a tractor set. Still cheaper on Amazon at the moment though.
  8. Happy Easter! It's supposed to snow later today. I wish the weather would make up its mind on what season it is already!
  9. Went to TRU today. Sale wasn't that good 10%-30%. And movies, baby food, formula, & diapers were excluded for now. I got some good stuff, but more for the sake of I was planning on getting it this summer anyway. Sand toys, crawling tunnel, water shoes. The store was packed!!! More people then on Black Friday. It was crazy. Lots of the big stuff was already gone. I was hoping for a really good carseat deal in a few weeks but doubt there'll be any left at this rate. There was a lady in front of me at customer service who was exchanging a broken swing she bought before the liquidation started. She was trying to return the baby bottle pop suckers she'd purchased today and that poor CSM went round and round with her that 1-no returns on candy even before the liquidation started, and 2- she couldn't accept returns if they were bought after March 22nd. It took her at least ten minutes to accept that she couldn't return those suckers that cost $2.50 total. Was funny but felt bad for the cashier. Then she had to fix my issue (cashiers were marking through the barcodes on receipts, they scanned something wrong and added $15 to my total. They couldn't fix it for a long time had to hand key it all back in to give me my money back since they marked out the code.) Manager was not happy with them, they hired a bunch of people to do the closing sales and they'd been messing up all morning. Couple employees were trying not to cry. Our store had a lot of long time employees, 5-10 years or more. I felt so bad for them.
  10. Anybody going to the liquidation sales yet? We were supposed to go look today but we slept in instead Going on Monday/Tuesday. Going to wipe out their supply of my son's favorite snacks, only store locally that carried them. Other then that I'll wait til the discounts are a bit better... though the urge to buy a ton of diapers is very strong. He doesn't really need much else right now. And no clue what size he'll be in by next year or I'd buy ahead on clothes. Will probably get a few toys at some point during the liquidation. Anyway, what are you going to look for if you go? The whole thing makes me sad. Then the TRU founder dying when the liquidation was supposed to start. Made me feel so sad for him, he spent his life building his company and then it collapsed, and he had to watch it all happen.
  11. Its supposed to be Spring. It does not feel like it. Grr. It's 40, cloudy, and drizzling off and on. But it'll be 70 by Saturday. Gotta love the Midwest!
  12. I really hope they manage to turn themselves around. One of my favorite stores in general since I had my son. I hate shopping online and it had all the things I wanted/needed that Walmart didn't.
  13. Happy March everyone! It is going to be a balmy 59 degrees this afternoon and this weekend. The second part of our house foundation will be going in tomorrow!!! Hoping we can get a lot done this summer, I want to put up a Christmas tree in my own house this year! Took my son out for a birthday fun day using his birthday coupons for free/discounted treats and toys. Free cookie from a bookstore, free Geoffrey the Giraffe from TRU and they sent me 2- 5 off 25 coupons, so got his water table for less then Amazon! My deal of the month.
  14. Update for anyone worried about my kiddo. He still has a nasty cough that's getting better, he's playing and causing baby mischief. Rash still bad but getting better everyday. Think he has it almost kicked.
  15. There is no such thing as being over prepared for the holidays. That'll be an awesome trip!
  16. He's broke out in hives now. Not allergic to the antibiotics, my foot he's not. Have benadryl handy if needed but doctor said not to at this point unless they spread. Another appointment tomorrow. There's a chance it's Rubella. (He's too young for the vaccine) Or one of a half dozen other things. Thanks for all the well wishes everybody.
  17. Most likely. Couldn't get him into our family doctor but my dad has an appointment today with him so we are swiping the dr. for a few minutes. They changed the antibiotic once so either its a delayed reaction to the first one or he's allergic to this one too. Sorry I've hijacked the thread for a while. It's what's going on in my world right now; I just want him better. Not a fun way to spend his first birthday. Edit after appointment. Its a viral rash of unknown origin. But he's not allergic to the antibiotics. Small victory.
  18. Thanks everybody. Now he's either allergic to the medicine or has something else. Head to toe rash. I just want him to be better.
  19. I'm done with February. Just done. My one year old had Roseola beginning of the month; 105.6 fever. Then a Double ear infection, was getting better on antibiotics then spiked another fever. Took him back to the doctor today, he's been a little snotty and congested. I thought he maybe had a cold or it was the wrong antibiotic. No, he has (insert a few naughty words of your choice that I don't usually use) RSV. I'm done with this month. My poor baby
  20. Here for February! It was beautiful out yesterday and now its back in the 30s. I don't wanna go to the post office, it's cold and windy but I have to. My son's newborn pictures are supposed to have came and I really want to see them.
  21. Our location is not closing thank goodness. I'd have been really upset. We go there at least once a month, more like twice most months. I use the coupons and the diaper deals often. The clearance is some of the best and our store is super nice. I took an opened toy back, no packaging, no receipt but it was an exclusive. He told me to go get a new one off the shelf and we swapped it. No fuss, all he asked was what was wrong with it. (The motor inside was getting hot when played with and we could smell it, not okay for an 11 month old) They got three calls while they were checking me out at customer service, asking if they were one of the stores closing. The clerk said they'd had people calling all day.
  22. How many do you need? I just searched it and a bunch of results came up for under $35 a pack. Also you could try a firework warehouse.
  23. Probably don't want me to say it'll be in the mid to upper 50s tomorrow?? Then its going to be single digits by Sunday. And icy. Bluck!
  24. I've already donated two carloads of stuff and have two tubs fixed for a kids resale event. I've organized my craft supplies and I'm working on our pictures. Surprising myself honestly, I say I'm going to purge and organize every year and this is the first year its actually happening. And in my defense, most of my nice glasses have gotten broke. And the Sunday School stuff will get put in the closet at church. But yeah, I have a shopping problem. :-)
