Not going this year. Only thing that might make me consider it would be the $6 off coupon on Huggies diapers, but doubt I'll mess with it. No Arm and Hammer, no b1g2 wrapping paper, and they burned me on the toys last year. Went to buy the Marvel action figures for my nephew and was told they weren't included even though they were the right price (9.99 toys were half off), after I'd not gotten them at Dollar General or Walmart because they would have been cheaper at Walgreens if the sale would have worked. Had to buy them anyway, but made me very unhappy. And I still have candles left from last year, so nope, Walgreens won't see me this year.

Thanks wittenlover- my mom, sister, and I were all huddled around the screen trying to make those titles out. May have added a few more to the list now though! Anyone have an experience with the enamel cookware like the Pioneer Woman set? I've heard it scratches pretty easily but only if you use metal utensils, not the plastic or silicone that comes with it. I need new pots and pans. My sister and I may be fighting over the aqua colored sets though, we both want it! Pretty sure it's going to be a hot item at our store, cookware is usually gone in the initial rush. They just bought a new house so the home-goods have her excited, her list is bigger then mine now. Going to need three carts this year instead of the usual two. She wants pretty much all the basic new appliances, cookware set, the dishes, and one of the big vacuums. Plus the usual toys, kids clothes, and movies. Fun-fun though, I love a challenge.

Can anyone see the titles for the 7 dollar adult coloring books? Can make out Avengers, nature, and Disney Animals. My niece wants the Disney animal one, saw it at Barnes and Noble, it was 20!

You might try the store brand 18inch dolls. The dolls are about 30, outfits 10ish each. All my nieces have them and love them.
-
Only thing I was interested in was the crib for 99. Will those be available online I wonder... I really don't want to go to TRU on TG night. Already have big lists for other stores.

I work at a preschool, we're open on BF but we have few enough kids come some people get the day off and the rest of us get half days. Depends on the year, if most of the kids come we have to work the whole day. Won't know til the week of most likely.

I usually start looking thru the archives in July or August. Its fun finding the things we got, and looking at the toys and electronics, how much they've changed. Love the archives!

My mom usually buys a coffepot or two at WM and we always get a new box of Rubbermaid containets. It's amazing how those things run away, I got 2 sets last year and they've all disappeared. Need a new coffepot and maybe a crockpot. I usually get a small appliance or two for wedding gifts! Best time to get them.

I love the ad but I won't do 3pm on TG. Messes with my usual plan and I think that's too early. At least with 5pm or later the employees can spend part of the day with their families.

I usually have a notebook with my lists for each store, opening times, pin number for Kmarts member program since I never remember the number, and I stick the ads in the notebook. Tear out the list when I get to the store and stick it in the fanny pack. Only time I use one, keeps my hands free and I'm more likely to notice someone messing with it. I have a tablet this year, may be using it this year, would have to use a teal purse though to carry it so not sure. Will pronably stick to my notebook!

A fight over towels Unattended tweens\teens wandering the stores for no reason People playing tug of war with the last doorbuster Hope that helps a little, will try to think of some more.

If you watch the Today Show they do Jills Steals and Deals, one show around this time of year has AG dolls. That's the only sale I know of for them. You can save by doing the store brand clothes and furniture. Most stores have their own brand of knock off dolls now and everything is pretty much interchangeable. The knock off dolls aren't as good of quality, but the clothes are so much cheaper.

We always have turkey, at least 15 pounds of mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, lots of gravy, homemade crescent rolls, and at least 5 pumpkin pies. Other stuff varies, we'll decide closer to time.

Walmart, Walgreens, Bass Pro and Dollar General. Used to I'd be excited for Kmart but there's only 1 left in driving distance and its next to the mall. Mad house over there on TG/BF.

I want to get my niece a musical snow globe, doubt it will go on sale though. My MIL gave me her old Kindle or I'd be looking for a good deal on one!

I'm first in line at Dollar General, 3 years in a row. I go for the cheap ornaments and the b1g1 75% off toys. I usually do most of my angel tree gifts there. Earlier there's a better selection. I also like saying I was the 1st one there, don't really need to be but it's fun and safer the Walmart!

I may go ahead and order it then. The nearest store is on the wrong end of town for me, and I'd rather get it done. Thanks bribri25!

DH found what he wants for Christmas. Anyone ever get the wire welder? Think it'd still be there on Saturday? I probably have to work BF morning.
-
I got some good feals when the Kmart by my work closed but they didn't mark stuff down very quickly. I got my SIL a $300 necklace for $35 with 15 back in points. That's the best deal I got there. Been doing little gifts for my preschool class and my Sunday School class. Half done with everyone else.

I really like the fanny pack idea. I use one every BF, purses are too easy to snag on something or to lose. Water bottle or travel cup would be nice too. I use the reusable shopping bags when I can't get a cart or get to our cart person.

When/why did you start BF shopping? Why do you still go now?
MariahA replied to budgetsRsexy's topic in 2016
I started BF shopping with my mom and older sister 9 years ago. The only reason we went was for the cheap pjs at WM! My sister had a toddler and not much money so we went to try to stretch her money and have been hooked ever since. I miss the early years, people were nicer and it wasn't as crazy! We took my sister's DD until she was almost 3, my sister had to be at work at 6am to open the store she worked at. My niece slept on the pile of coats in our carts while we shopped all night and into the morning. Its changed a lot but I'm still going out and shopping til I drop. Or til I have to go to work on BF chasing 2yo at the preschool I work at. -
I've done some shopping so far. Our WM clearanced off a bunch of the My Life As... Sets and all my nieces love those, $30 playset for $13. And they clearanced off tons of the Marvel Avengers action figures for half off so my nephew is set for bday and Christmas. Best buy of all though was at Kmart's store closing sale. $300 necklace for $35, and i got $15 in points for buying it so it was like spending 20! Trying to wait on the rest for BF, if I can go. DH doesn't like the thought of me going out 6months pregnant!

I've been driving my DH nuts already. I've actually had free time (unusual) and been reading thru the BF archives. Making my list and figuring out a budget. So many people to buy for and we're building a house so I'm going to be looking at furniture and house accessories this year, will be fun! And a 32 inch TV because we only have a 19inch. I can barely see that little screen from five feet away. Must get serious about saving money or I won't be able to get my house stuff and do Christmas presents the way I'd like to . We usually have our TG dinner the weekend before for the sake of all our sanities, which leaves me, my mom and sister free to go shop till we drop! (And then I get to go chase a classroom of 2 year olds on 2 hours sleep and a pot of coffee!) Have to love BF! Only 148 days to go!

I know, and figure they were already gone at 4. If I had been needing it I would have been there at 12 or 1 to be in line, but my mom won't hear of being at a store more then an hour and a half early. Our store usually tells you if you're in line for something and there isn't enough for you to have 1; started that after someone got a little huffy with the employees guarding an item a few years ago.

We got there at 5pm, and did not get it. That was as early as she would get there. They gave out the wristbands starting at 4pm, so now we know, 2 hours prior to start time. That's company policy according to the employees in charge of wristbands. We got her in line for the 1 hour guarantee touchscreen so I get to set that up for her at some point this week. She got one of the last ones in store. Thanks to everyone who discussed this and for the advice!
