Maybe a small pre-lit tree? Cookies, candy, Gameboy & some games, a stocking with his name on it, photos?
-
Normally I wouldn't but this year I got my daughter a huge stocking from Big Lots for $5.99 and it's big enough to put larger stuff in too. I think it's at least 3 1/2 feet tall. It even has a pocket on the front for a letter to Santa. :)

Sorry, just saw the 6:30 part, wasn't paying attention.

Nope. Just click "Chat" up at the top. :)

I just popped in but there was nobody there.

I want all of them too but really want to see the Meijer ad for both Thanksgiving & BF.

When I was preggo 6 yrs. ago, I was craving carrot raisin salad for nearly a month. My mother made jar after jar of the stuff for me since I never knew when the craving would hit me. I wanted that, sweet curried pickles & onions, green olives, gherkins, and chicken ramen soup with a beaten egg in it.

I think the Sears Grand stores are what they are turning the closed Kmarts into. -
Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06

I didn't even see any of those cameras at the store here. I don't think that any even made it to the clearance. I did get some of those cheesy horror movies at the Dollar Spot for a quarter tho. They're so bad they're funny. LOL -
Strawberry Pretzel Dessert Ingredients 2 cups crushed pretzels 3 tablespoons sugar 3/4 cup softened butter 8 ounces cream cheese 1 cup sugar 1 cup whipped topping (see note) 2 heaping cups sliced strawberries, fresh or frozen 1 package (6 ounce) strawberry flavor gelatin 2 cups boiling water Instructions Crush pretzels with rolling pin, food processor, or whatever method. Mix in sugar and softened butter. Spread onto bottom of 9 by 13-inch baking pan; press down and spread evenly with spoon. Bake in 400-degree F. oven until just lightly browned, 6 to 10 minutes. Set aside to cool. Thoroughly mix cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and whipped topping and spread over crumb crust when it has completely cooled. Dissolve strawberry gelatin in 2 cups boiling water. When cool, add strawberries and leave to thicken slightly. Then spread over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate until firm before cutting into squares for serving. Note: Most cooks just use a topping such as Cool Whip in this recipe but a whipped topping made from a mix such as Dream Whip works fine and isn't quite as rich. It takes a little extra time to prepare, however. You can whip it up with milk and vanilla in the electric mixer and, removing any extra topping not needed, mix the topping, cream cheese and sugar in the same bowl. A 9-ounce package of pretzels is more than enough. The stick style is easiest to crush. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I can't find a Puffy Taco recipe using biscuits but did find this one instead. Puffy Tacos INGREDIENTS: 2 cups fresh masa OR instant corn flour (Maseca or Quaker masa harina) 1 1/3 cups warm water (if using instant masa) 1/4 cup lard 2 tablespoons baking powder 2 tablespoons Bolners fajita seasoning tortilla press comal or flat griddle heated to 375 degrees hot oil (375) for frying DIRECTIONS: Mix the fresh masa or masa harina corn flour with the baking powder and fajita seasoning Add the warm water to form a soft dough. Work in the ‘warmed’ lard. To warm the lard, microwave 10 seconds at a time until it is soft but not melted. If the mixture seems too crumbly, add more water a little at a time. If the dough sticks to your hand, it is too wet and you will need to add a little more masa. When the dough feels ‘just right’- not too wet and not too crumbly, then put into a plastic bag, seal, and let stand, for 20 minutes. Pinch off a piece of the dough about 1 1/2 inches and form into a smooth ball with the palms of your hands. Keep the remaining dough in the plastic bag to prevent from drying out. Open the tortilla press and lay a piece of plastic wrap or sandwich bag on the bottom half. Next, place a single ball of dough on the plastic in the center and place another piece of plastic wrap (or sandwich bag) on top of the ball and flatten slightly with your hand. Close the press firmly, then open. Dampen your hands with a little water and peel the top bag off the tortilla, then lift the bottom plastic bag up with the tortilla still on it. Transfer the tortilla, dough side down, to your dampened hand. With your free hand, carefully peel the bag off the dough. Place the tortilla that is approximately 1/8 inch thick carefully onto the hot comal and let cook for 20-30 seconds. Turn over and cook for another 20-30 seconds. With a spatula, remove from the comal and gently place in the hot oil. Let fry for about 20 -30 seconds, then with a metal spatula or slotted spoon gently flip the flat tortilla over in the hot oil. Using a pair of metal tongs or the back of a large metal slotted spoon, place in the middle and gently push down to form a 'V' with the tortilla. Let fry for a about 1 minute, but not until completely crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels. Fill with your favorites including refried beans, chicken or beef, lettuce, tomato, onion and grated cheese. Top with your favorite salsa.

If you want any others, I might already have them somewhere. I have a HUGE recipe section on my messageboard.

I was looking at frozen turkey breasts at Meijer the other day and nearly went into shock! Didn't notice the per lb. price but the total price on the cheapest one was over $28.00!! I then went over to look at the whole turkeys and couldn't believe the difference - a whole frozen young turkey was under $20!

Nope, you're not the only one that hates it. I see it in the ads every year and just looking at it makes me gag.

Michaels also has coupons in their ad in the Sunday papers too. We don't have a Michaels around here anymore, they closed up when Hobby Lobby opened.

Last year on BF the lines at the store here went back to the back of the store! I had my cart full and when I saw the lines and nobody making any progress, I took my daughter out of the cart and went to Walmart. I just left the cart sitting in the clothing dept. I love Meijer and shop there all the time but unless they improve things this year, I'm not going near the place unless they have something nobody else has.

How about a hint? Pretty please?

My mother went into the hospital 3 years ago today. She was in there for Thanksgiving, her birthday, Christmas, New Year's, my birthday, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day and Easter before we found out she had terminal lung cancer. My daughter had just turned 3 when she went in and I didn't have just one holiday to deal with, I had all of them. I've lived with my parents all my life and until they said that she had cancer, we still kept thinking she might get to come back home. My dad was killed in a car wreck in '95 and that year was hard, but 2002-2003 was the worst. She went in on 11/05/2002 and died on 06/04/2003. I was alone except for my nearly 4 yr. old daughter and I had to explain why Nana wasn't coming back home after all.

I don't know of anyplace that sells them embroidered but try calling a few places that do machine embroidery on jackets & shirts and see if maybe they could do it on stockings you brought in to them.

They don't have the Cyberhome DVD recorder in there yet.

I just looked thru my Yahoo msgr. news briefs and found this on there. One of the local stations did a story on GottaDeal! http://news.yahoo.com/s/wrtv/20051105/lo_wrtv/3041909 Web Site Shows Stores' Holiday Ads Early Want to know what will be on sale when the holiday shopping season begins? One Web site reveals a few stores' plans weeks in advance. GottaDeal.com collects advance copies of advertisements meant for the day after Thanksgiving, which is one of the biggest shopping days of the year. People with access to the ads send them to the site, and scanned copies are posted on its forum section. Wal-Mart, Kohl's and Sears are among the stores whose post-Thanksgiving ads are posted, RTV6's Linda Allen reported Friday. The site doesn't guarantee the prices posted in the ads because stores' plans can change. Some stores aren't happy with the site, but retail experts say most don't have a problem with it. "They would like to have customers in their store versus the competition, and they work hard to bring value to the marketplace. Those sales and promotions help to do that," said Grant Monahan, president of the Indiana Retail Council.

I was in Big Lots yesterday and they had a bunch of both Leap Pad & Quantum Pad books marked at $7.99 and they had a decent variety there too.
