I couldn't go yesterday or today because my DD was sick with the flu, but if it isn't raining tomorrow, we might go for a little while. Today's the first day she's been without a fever. :)

Not to get off topic but have you tried showing a DVD movie and turning on the Closed Captions? I started doing this with my DD when she was 3 or 4 and she's 6 now and reads at prolly a grade 2 or better level. She can read along with what they are saying as they are saying it.

Meijer is the same way now. You're allowed ONE return without a receipt and that's all. You can't even exchange something there now without the receipt.

They are victims of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization by Musicland Holding Corp. The Minneapolis-based firm announced Wednesday it would close 341 of its underperforming and unprofitable stores, launching liquidations sales at most of those stores on Wednesday. Eleven other Indiana locations will close, including Sam Goody stores in Bloomington, Kokomo, Anderson, Columbus and Marion. Musicland President and CEO Michael J. Madden said, "As we move forward in the restructuring process, this action will allow us to focus our resources on those four hundred stores that have stronger prospects for future growth." The liquidation sales are offering discounts of up to 40 percent on more than $140 million worth of music, movies and video games.

If Muncie has one, it's not on the list for the $5 deal. I'll save more money waiting for a movie to come out on DVD and getting it from the library for free.

The Cinema 1 & 2 closed up quite a while ago, not sure exactly when. The Showplace (the one that got divided into 4 theaters) closed not long after the new one in the Mall itself opened. They tore down the Penneys store to put that in.

No Kerasotes theatres left in Anderson anymore. There used to be 2 or 3 of them and the last one closed up over a year ago. Nearest one to me now is in Indianapolis. That's too far to go watch a movie for $5.00 when you'd spend that much in gas getting there.

Looks like the 2 closest to me will be closing. The Anderson store is next door to the Target here. So when are the closing sales supposed to start?

We don't have a Penney store here anymore. They closed it and tore it down a couple of years ago and put a theater there instead. All we have now is a Penney Catalog desk inside of a copy center.

I was in WM last night and found some of the silicone ice trays with Santa faces in them and scanned them. Nearly had a heart attack when it came up at $4.25 for one tray! I took 2 up to the checkout when I went up to pay and she scanned them and said the original price for one tray was almost $9.00 They should go down to the same 75% off everything else is but they didn't. I asked the cashier if she thought they'd go down more and she thought they might but wasn't sure when.

I hope the store here isn't one of the ones closing. It's right next to Target so it's easier to shop at that instead of the Office Depot we have. We don't have a Staples.
