  1. Thanks for the warning! I will have to make sure our daughter doesn't meet the fedex truck today..lol
  2. I signed up for the monthly access just so I could get the Galaxy tablet..I also got our daughter a candle and Lord of the Rings blu-ray and The Hobbit blu-ray.
  3. I actually talked to a few people in the Gottadeal discord chat room and I do feel that the A7 will work. I also watched several YouTube videos with people playing games on the A7. All of those YouTubers said that it will play, but you can't use full graphics. Most used the automatic settings for graphics instead. They all said that they couldn't really tell a difference between the full and the automatic as far as the graphics go. I am probably just going to go ahead and purchase it if I can get it before they sell out.
  4. My daughter is wanting a laptop or tablet so she can play Roblox and Minecraft with her friends. She tried playing Minecraft on one of our laptops but I am pretty sure it met just the minimum requirements and was lagging badly. I also think she may have had to pay an extra fee to be able to play with those who play on a phone, tablet, or game system. This is all fairly new to me so I am not exactly sure which would be the cheapest way to go. Would love to get some help choosing the best one at the best deal. I saw that Walmart has the Samsung Tab A7 but wasn't sure if it would be sufficient for game play or not.
  5. This morning I ordered three throws and paid around 9.00 out of pocket because I had 5.00 kohls cash from rewards, the 10.00 kohls cash from mailer, a 5.00 credit for picking up in store, and the 15% off. Then, my husband signed up for an account to get 35% off the already good deals. So, we got our daughter several sweaters, a pullover hoodie, a few sweatshirts, a flannel shirt, a pair of Vans, 2 pairs of joggers and a pair of jeans. We got one sweatshirt for our daughter's friend and I got another throw and a pair of jeans. Oh we also bought a new sheet set. All for under 160.00. And I earned 45.00 in Kohls Cash. Not too shabby.
  6. We always have Thanksgiving Dinner at my dad's (my mom passed away four years ago). It will be myself, my husband, our daughter, our two sons and their wives, my sister, her husband, her two kids, and my dad and his girlfriend. We are doing it on Fri, Nov 12 this year though because it was the only day that everyone could be there. I am bringing turkey, dressing, homemade mac-n-cheese, and oreo dirt cake (my daughter is fixing that). My sister is bringing ham, corn on the cob, and rolls. My daughter in laws are bringing drinks, green beans, dessert, sweet potato souffle, and coleslaw. I will also make another dessert, I'm just not sure what I want to make yet.
  7. Happy 1st day of November! Today is my dad's 71st birthday. He decided to go to the beach for his birthday so we celebrated his birthday yesterday by taking him out to eat for breakfast.
  8. 1. Charcoal Black heather 2. Shadow Gray heather
  9. If I remember correctly from last year, all the Pioneer Woman stuff was in the 3rd event. I hope so. I have asked my husband for Pioneer Woman stuff this year for Christmas.
  10. My two boys never did really enjoy BF shopping, but once they were teenagers, they would go to our local Walmart to help stand in line or grab things for their younger sister. If there was something that they wanted then my husband or I would stand in line or grab the things they wanted so it was still a surprise Christmas morning. Now they are 23 (yes, twins) and are married. My daughter is 15 and she and my hsuband go to our local Walmart store with me to help get things that I might want for her brothers or their wives. Then she goes home with her dad and a friend and I go out of town to do the rest of the BF shopping. I do miss those days when all three were at home and we would all head out together.
  11. Kohl's: Big One Throws and sweaters & long sleeved shirts for my daughter Walmart: socks, underwear, bras, and fleece tights, and towels
  12. We shop for our family and close friends (total of 19) plus my husband and then he shops for me (so 21) My sister My niece My nephew My two sons and their wives My daughter (who is 15) My FIL My MIL Family friends (the mom, dad, and their 4 kids) and another one of my daughter's friends My dad and his girlfriend (we lost my mom 4 years ago and they started dating late last year. I look for her to come to our family Christmas this year) This is fairly close to who we always buy for and we all live close.
  13. Received my package a few days ago and loved it! Thank you!
  14. I may be interested in the laptop for 279. I need to see if I can get all the specs on it. I don't need anything fancy; just enough to run Microsoft office, surf the internet, and play simple games online (nothing heavy, basically just FB games). I really need something under 300.00
  15. I think one of the best BF deals that I got was a 99.00 Gamecube when my boys were 4 or 5. A friend and I had to stand in line to get into Walmart and then stand in line another 2 or 3 hours to get the Gamecube. Neither of us had a babysitter (she had a son who was 4 or 5 and a son who was 2) so we put the oldest three in a buggy together and the youngest was in the seat of the other buggy. Then we put the two Gamecubes in the empty buggy part and covered it with our jackets. They were none the wiser..lol. My favorite tradition is just the fun of shopping with a friend. That was the only year I didn't have a babysitter. My husband started working for himself that very next year and always took off BF so I could have one day of shopping fun with my friend. The friends have changed a few times over the year, but we always have fun. Now that my two sons are grown and my daughter is 15, the must haves have kind of dwindled down, but I still just enjoy the tradition of going out all day shopping. We usually eat breakfast at a fast food place and then eat lunch at a sit down restaurant. I did take my daughter a few years ago after she begged and begged to go. But, she decided very quickly that she didn't like that.
  16. https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-YDP103-Digital-Console-Walnut/dp/B07PZXD3Q5/ref=sr_1_37?dchild=1&keywords=digital+piano&qid=1634001577&sr=8-37 Yamaha Digital piano. It would be for our 15 year old daughter who is playing on a keyboard that is 12 years old and has no weighted keys and no pedal jack (it doesn't work).
  17. Honestly, this is probably the first year that I just don't have any huge want/needs for Black Friday. The budget seems like it is going to be slimmer than usual so we are cutting back on the amount we spend on everyone. I would like to see some gift cards marked down. I know I can go to Target and use my Red Card to get 5% off of a few of them and I also know that Sam's Club has many gift cards cheaper than regular price. But, I would love to save 10% off a few gift cards, specifically Texas Road House and Starbucks gift cards since I will be getting those for our sons and their wives. My 15 year old daughter will probably also get a few Starbucks gift cards as well. My daughter lost about 40 pounds this year so she will need some new sweaters and long sleeved clothing. We live in a milder climate so she can get by with some of her stuff from last year (they will be a little big but will do until Christmas). We don't usually get the colder weather until January anyway. I'm hoping Kohl's has some good deals on sweaters like they did last year. The only other thing she has asked for are a pair of doc martins and a pair of birkenstocks (and I don't think those ever really go on sale). I do hope I can find some ceramic bakeware and maybe a chopper. I've already told my husband that those are the two things I really would like this year. Yes, I am pretty easy to make happy..lol. Just give me stuff for my kitchen.
  18. I would get a new digital piano for our daughter. She is playing on a keyboard that is 13 years old. She has really outgrown it and needs something with weighted keys, pedals (her pedal jack doesn't work anymore), and it needs to be full sized. I know it won't happen for Christmas this year, but hopefully sometime next year we will be able to save up enough to buy it for her.
  19. Smart 3D Illusion Night Light (in the shape of a violin) https://www.amazon.com/Illusion-Changing-Sleeping-Lighting-Decoration/dp/B0759VJ21J/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=violin+gifts&qid=1633734766&sr=8-4 I think this would be a great gift for our daughter. She is the only child left at home now and she decided that she wanted her brothers' old room. So, we are working on that a little at a time. She is going to decorate her room with musical type stuff. She plays piano and violin so I think this would be a unique gift that she can use in her new room.
  20. I can't believe it is Oct. 4 already. My daughter left for Disney with some close friends of ours. She will be there for 10 days! She will also turn 15 while she is there so we celebrated her birthday this past weekend. Black Friday is getting so close!
  21. This has been a tough year for us financially. My husband is self-employed (drywall) and has been in the same business for almost 24 years. This is the first year that it has been this bad. Thankfully, the last two months it has picked up and I am praying that it stays this way. How much we spend on Christmas definitely depends on how well his business is going, but it will definitely be less than in the years past. Some friends of ours invited our daughter to Disney World and they go in just a few weeks. So, a lot of the money we would have been putting up for Christmas has gone to her trip instead (she only has to pay for food and souvenirs).
  22. I am so glad that summer is almost over. I am looking forward to cooler weather. Of course, we live in Alabama so cooler weather for us means temperatures are in the 60's or 70's and we have low humidity..lol. I do hope we have a good snow this year.. I also will have to say that this summer was a mild one compared to most of our summers. Changing the subject, my daughter will be 15 in three weeks and she will be celebrating at Disney World. She is going with some friends of ours and their 4 girls (2 teenagers, 2 little ones). She is so excited. She has never been to Disney or Universal. They are counting down the days. They will be there for 10 days!
