1. My Target is apparently still adding toys to the clearance. Some of the 50% went to 70 on random days, and there were some Turbo toys and Cars added to the clearance that I hadn't seen before. Unfortunately the Lego sets were the ones my kids already have (they had monsters at 50%). I wish the galaxy squad sets would have been part of our clearance but they stayed regular price. I grabbed a ton of toys last time I went but figured why not and picked up a couple things: I got a Monsters University Roll-a-scare track set and an Imaginext Battle Arena, and with my $5 gc I earned last time I ended up paying a little under $10 total. Happy camper. Some strange things still at 50% at my store like boys squinkies and gi joe. Time to go 70 on those already. Do they salvage the toys clearance or do they leave it out until it sells? Will we continue to see price drops on the items that are still at 50?
2. I'm so glad someone started this! I started my xmas shopping at the Target toy clearance and I've had BF on the mind ever since! I'm way ahead of the game as far as my kids go this year. I know that the "big" item I'm looking for this bf will be a good deal on a Nintendo 3ds XL, hopefully bundled with a game. Last year we saw some good deals on those so I'm waiting. That's for my ds9, and along with a few games for that and his Skylanders Swap Force for Wii, he'll be finished. I have a whole pile of toys hidden in the basement already from the toy clearance at target. I don't know what else I'll be looking for this year. We've upgraded our tv's already, no one really needs anything techy, and the kids are almost done. I'm always in the market for a good price on video games and movies. I'm excited to see what Amazon puts up as their lightening deals this year! I did the bulk of my BF shopping on amazon last year. My plan for this Thanksgiving is to pour myself a nice glass of wine, turn on the Steelers game at 8:30, and shop online like last year. I stayed home warm and snugly, and then went to Target around 11:00 or so the next morning. I'm getting excited!!!
3. I got a ton of toys tonight for my guys! My store was at 50%-70% so I went for it. I got $308 worth of toys for $137 and got a $5 gift card at the checkout with a coupon I got in the mail. I put a huge dent in my christmas shopping! Got Legos, Hotwheels, Star Wars, Trash Pack, Monsuno, G.I. Joe, playdoh, Spider-Man stuff, board games, transformers, a Gak factory thing, power rangers, and a few things I know I'm forgetting. So glad I went tonight! A lot of bare shelves already.
4. Just got back from my Target, and patio stuff was mostly 30%. (I swear it's been at 30 for weeks), and bedding was at 70% but picked over. They were marking down a lot of toys at 30%, squinkies, Star Wars stuff, marvel stuff, iron man toys...can you tell I have boys? Not sure which girls stuff was down yet. Also a lot of clearance in summer travel snack containers, sippy cups, etc. How long until the summer toy clearance kicks into high gear? What's the average?
5. I have to say, I've never seen my kids absolutely love every single thing they got the way they do this year! Makes me so happy! The surprise hit for ds3 is this spongebob book with figurines of the characters and a playmat that I picked up on a whim at Barnes and noble. Can't believe how much he loves it! I would say the other biggest hits for ds3 are his big hot wheels 6- lane raceway, work bench and tools, and all his Little People stuff. For ds8 I think the stand- outs are Skylanders Giants and all the figures he got for it, his TMNT stuff, video game chair, and the Lego monster fighters lab and train. but like I said, these two are enjoying everything! They've been having so much fun!!
6. I'm done!!! Food bought, ingredients to bake cookies bought, all gifts wrapped and all cards sent. Sent the bus driver and teacher gifts to school today, put the mail lady's gift in the mailbox. Ds8 and dh are both on vacation as of 4:00 today. Now I'm ready to hunker down and enjoy the holiday with my family.
7. Our living room tree. The kids have a tree in the playroom and one upstairs too.
8. Yes, they fit with Legos. My son like to build his own vehicles out of Legos and then put the characters in them. They're really cute!
9. Yes!!! This is exactly what I needed! I missed the sale on them a couple weeks ago and my kids are obsessed with these sets. I'm ordering all the guys they don't have. Thanks!
10. Wow! Beautiful trees! I'll snap a pic of ours later when it gets dark and the light are on.
11. I'm so happy with how done I am! I'm usually going crazy at this point. All the kids' gifts are done and I'm almost done wrapping (I do a few gifts every night after they're sleeping)! Just ordered the Pittsburgh Dad DVD for my mom, and I'm planning on picking up a heated neck wrap for her, as well as some kitchen stuff that she wanted, a crockpot cookbook, and some aprons. She's the last person that I really needed to shop for. I have a few things for her here but not much yet. I also need to buy the stocking stuffers for my parents. They stuff my husband and My stocking and we stuff their stockings. An iTunes gift card for my brother, a few Hickory Farms gift sets for neighbors, and a few random gift cards for Teachers, principal, bus drivers, and mail lady and I am all done!

13. My biggest Christmas memories are running down the stairs to see our tree all lit up and packed full of presents. My first Christmas as a big sister (I was 6) is a big one. As far as gifts the ones that stand out are my play kitchen with all the fake food and dishes, Barbie townhouse, and the year Santa brought me a big box of arts and crafts supplies. All the wonderful 80s toys, Rainbow Brite, Huggabunch, Lady Lovelylocks, She-ra.... But above all that, the thing that has always stuck with me is the way my mom always made Christmas feel. Warm, cozy, loving, the smells, the music... We never had a lot of money, but on Christmas my mom always made us feel like the richest kids in town. And we were because we had her. She still puts together a mean Christmas, and I hope my kids remember the Christmases I give them as fondly as I remember the ones my mom gave us.
14. This is great! I keep meaning to get one for my son, and at this price both sons are getting one and I'll pick up a couple extra. Thanks! Also, trying that shop your way max for the free shipping.
15. Anything you get for those kind of people won't be good enough, so make it a joke to yourself. When you pick the gift, think "oh yeah, so and so will hate this" and that way you'll have your own little inside joke to get you through it. How about food gifts like Hickory Farms (not too expensive), candles, comfy blankets, or something generally gifty like that? When they hate it, who cares, you barely put thought into it. Go to Walmart, hit the boxed gift aisle, boom. Done. Good luck!
16. Great find!! Picked one up for my brother.
17. Same here. So many lightning deals. Happy to report that I'm only waiting on 2 deliveries to come in tomorrow and then all my amazon merchandise will be in the house.
18. I have to send that season 3 of Vampire Diaries back, turns out my friend already has it. Other than that, all keepers!
19. Do they play any games like that minecraft? I have a 14 year old little brother who is obsessed with that game, and I found a nice set of 12 mini buttons with minecraft stuff on them on amazon for $10, figure he can put them on his hoodie or backpack or just around his room. If they like a certain game like that you could do a tshirt or rubber bracelet or poster, you know? Also we have an Under Armour outlet nearby and they had t-shirts 2 for $15 last week so I grabbed some of those. It's not the $50 hoodie or anything but it has the brand name on it so he'll like that. And I've hit some sweet video game sales lately so I grabbed Skyrim and Borderlands 2 for him. Also going to get some cologne he likes from Rue 21, it's $10. How about hats? Maybe some new headphones for their mp3 players?
20. Could someone have stolen your identity and tried to set up accounts?
21. I have to say for the record that I did more online shopping this year than I have ever done. In fact, my whole game plan has changed for future black fridays. From here on out I'll be shopping Amazon during black Friday week and on Thanksgiving evening, then getting up around 5 a.m. and hitting any stores I need to, like Target or TRU. I'm pretty excited about it. Stress-free shopping from the comfort of my own home wasn't how I pictured black Friday even just a few years ago! And honestly, and I'm not saying this for bandwagon shock value, I don't need walmart anymore. It used to be my main stop, now I can skip the frustration and leave walmart out. Pretty excited about that too!
22. I didn't buy anything from Walmart online this year! After looking at all my stuff, the bulk of my shopping happened on Amazon. Their deals were sweet and with that prime 2 day free shipping it was easy to be in my jammies on my couch doing my shopping. During the run up to black friday and on the day itself, I spent $288 on Amazon, $202 at Target, $126 at Kmart, $119 at TRU, $65 in Kohls, $19 in Walmart, and $7 in JCP. $19 at Walmart!!!?? I've never done that before! And $10 of that was on something I picked up as a favor to my mom so I actually spent $9 out of pocket there.
23. That's great, thanks!
