  1. I have the ad but no way to scan it in. I can put a list together if it's okay to post that. I got my ad in the mail yesterday.
  2. Thanks for posting this, great deal. Knocks two more gifts off my list, woohooo!
  3. I've always priced matched at my Wal-Mart on BF. I normally run into the store manager or ask my mom (who works there) to ask him if they will price match. I've never had a problem as long as I'm price matching a store within 30 minutes of the Wal-Mart (which covers just about all the stores). It does have to be the exact same item and the ad has to state a price not a percentage off or B1G1F.
  4. My inlaws always send us our Christmas check before BF so we can shop for the kids. It's cheaper for me to buy the things here because they don't have to ship them from Kentucky. I don't mind doing it because it's for my kids.
  5. My biggest suggestion is make sure all the employees know where the doorbusters are even if it's not the most popular item. I hate having to ask five different people where something is.
  6. Not so much funny as sad. My mom and I worked at a Wal-Mart close to my house and I didn't have to work on Black Friday (my availabilty kept me from working the am) but knew almost everyone else there. My mom actually got off early to shop, she had gone in overnight to help set up the items. This was the year that they had the really cheap laptops. A friend of mine had been assigned to stand right in the front with tickets for the laptops to hand out to the customers. He was standing in front of one of those metal clothes racks (the long metal ones on wheels) when the doors where opened. He got mobbed so bad that the crowd actually pushed him into the clothes rack and broke it. He took a pole in the middle of the back and had a huge bruise. I had wanted a laptop but didn't get a ticket from him because I wasn't going to get injured for it. My mom also wanted the laptop and managed to get a ticket before the rack broke. A little later a woman came up and gave my mom a ticket for the laptop. She had accidentally gotten two tickets and knew that my mom wanted one. Since my mom had been telling people around her where things were in the store she felt that she derserved the laptop. My mom gave me the ticket but I felt horrible for the guy who got hurt. I'm always nice to the people at my store because I know so many of them.
  7. I pick up things for my mom because she works but I always know before I go what she wants so it's not a big deal.
  8. It's not something I would do but to each their own. Personally I just wouldn't feel right doing it but that's just me, I'm not about to tell someone else what they can or can't do with the tickets.
  9. I have one large tote I keep in the laundry room and the kids never look because all my other storage is there. They just assume it's more of "mom's crap". I also use DH's work and my mom's basement (she lives one door down). The kids never go in her basement, it's dark and there are spiders !! Works great.
  10. Here are my kid's list: DS 9 Bakugon Star Wars The Force Unleashed DS Pokeman Deck (his got stolen at school last year) PSP Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga DS Lego Batman DS DD 5 Pink DS FurReal Puppy (the one the rolls over, etc) Wii Littlest Pet Shop Animals VSmile Games Anything Crafty (she loves to draw and make things)
  11. This made me laugh because I bought my mom a DS last year and the only one I could find was a pink one. She's not a pink person but it was the only one I could find, lol. This year DD wants one but she hasn't said she wants a certain color so I'm holding out a while longer.
  12. Hi Everyone, I'm Laura, been married for 12 years to Travis (tm37 on here) and we have two kids, Sarah (almost 6) and John (9). We live about an hour south of Minneapolis in a small town called Faribault. I grew up outside Memphis and DH grew up outside San Diego. We have been doing BF since we got married. I'm a SAHM right now and DH is a service manager for an audiometer company. I've been on GD for um a few years since DH introduced me to it.
  13. I'm job searching at the moment so I don't know how that will work yet, normally I have that day off as part of the Thanksgiving Holiday. DH's job is closed so he gets paid for the day off.
  14. DH DD DS Sister #1 BIL Niece Niece Nephew Nephew Sister #2 SIL BIL Niece Niece Nephew Mom MIL & FIL Brother 5 Friends 15 Goody Bags (Scouts) 50 Goody Bags (Kid's Classrooms) Other than that most of the extended family only sends cards. I send the grandparents on both sides new pictures every year of the kids (normally in a calender format). Thankfully the goody bags I have the stuff I bought last year on clearence so that's not a big deal this year, just need the candy to add to them.
  15. I do both also. Mostly I buy for the family but I sometimes get something just for me.
  16. I'm going to give my 12 year old neice a journal this year with a journal jar (basically a decorated jar with topic suggestions for the journal) and a pretty pen. For journal topics you can go to http://organizedchristmas.com/printable/child-journal-jar for ideas.
  17. South Central Minnesota, my route is normally Wal-Mart, JCPenney, Walgreens and if I feel up to it I'll head over one town to Target.
  18. For me it's all about the kids so a DS for dd and games for both. Other than that it's all about the toys everything from animals to Star Wars would be good.
  19. 52' TV I got from Wal-mart two year ago (I think) works just great. Laptop I got from there, the hard drive just crashed but I'm pretty sure that was my kid's fault and not the laptop's. Most of the things I've gotten have worked great.
  20. Our tradition is like most people here, we go over ads after dinner on Thanksgiving. The difference is that in our town it's pretty much just Wal-Mart, JCPenny and Walgreens so I don't have to go to a million different stores. Thankfully my Wal-Mart will price match pretty much everyone on BF so I just make a list of what I want to price match and make sure I have the ads with me. We don't even get to the store until about 3 am, then just walk around and see where everything is (ours is a 24 hour one), then we stake out the most popular ones. Last year was great because there wasn't a ton of people there so we got everything we wanted. After we do the shopping, we normally go out to breakfast.
  21. I started going with my mom when I was a teenager and have kept the tradition with my DH since getting married a long time ago. I don't want to count years, makes me feel old.
  22. www.avon.com Spend $40, get Half Price Shipping Spend $60, get Free Shipping. Enter Code JOY at checkout. This came in the order I received today. Doesn't say it's a one time use code. Expires 03/01/08. Sorry if this is a repost, I did a search and didn't find anything.
  23. I'm not disappointed in the ad, then again I don't need any electronics this year. For me it's all toys and clothes. My only exception to the electronics is the DS but I don't need the bundle pack so it's not a big deal for me. With everyone else going to Target, I'll be at Walmart and price matching Target. Makes for an easy morning if everyone is in another town.
  24. That's the one thing I saw that I went "Oh I gotta get that!!!" My DH loves that show and he watches them when he makes long trips for work, so those would be a perfect gift.
