  1. We normally do eggs, bacon, sausage and biscuits (homemade if I can talk my mom into it) after we open presents.
  2. My son's birthday is December 8th. Last year I let him pick if we did the party at home or at Burger King, he's seven so he picked Burger King. He's choosen this again this year. It gives him one day where it's all about him and what he wants. Thankfully he doesn't get Christmas themed gifts. He's really into Star Wars so that is all he gets.
  3. Sometime during the first week of January, depending on how I'm feeling. Although my snowmen decorations stay up until mid March (considering we normally have snow until then I don't see why I should put them away).
  4. Since we are doing Thanksgiving at my sister in law's this year. I'm making everything the night before and then just transporting it on Thanksgiving day to her house.
  5. Too bad you aren't closer to me. We have everything that was in the ad, except the laptops, still in stock.
  6. How is that not fair? As someone who works for Walmart, if I'm off work and want to buy something I don't see the problem with that. I didn't get the laptop last night (bought one last year on BF) but my mom who also works there did go last night and get one. Of the fifteen my store had six went to employees, all of whom were off work.
  7. I'm in the same boat. My two kids managed to bring home so much candy that it's everywhere. I'm going to go through it and put alot of it away for decorating gingerbread houses in December (we don't eat them after we finish decorating them anyway).
  8. I'd like to have DH actually remember that I have a stocking. Oh and to wake up at size 8 (I can dream!)
  9. blitz is what Walmart employees call the sale the day after thanksgiving.
  10. I heard a rumor that this will be a Black Friday offer at $40 I don't know much about the vacuum, sorry.
  11. I saw the ad tonight at my Walmart. The laptop is $398 here in MN. BTW, I saw five come off the truck tonight. They went straight to lock up until the ad starts.
  12. I have a ton, but my favorites include the first ornaments for my kids, and the first christmas together for DH and me. I also love the Hershey candy bar I got one year for free when I bought candy.
  13. My daughter got the Diego game for her birthday and loves it. It's basically a matching game. You put the pieces in the bag, and each player has a board. You then draw pieces, taking turns until the first person matches everything on their board. The twist is if you pick something that doesn't belong on your board, you hold it up and see if it belongs on another players board, they then play that piece. It's really fun and I'm going to get her the Dora ABC game for Christmas. Hope that helps. BTW, she's four.
  14. I barely started, I have a few things but I still need to buy a ton of stuff. Not only Christmas but I have 7 birthdays in the next two months to buy for....eek!
  15. I only have one teacher to buy for so I'm putting together a teacher can gift. It's an unused paint can filled with classrom supplies, crayons, pencils, glue etc. I am making a label on my computer to put on the can and a poem is attached to it. I've always given something they can use in the class and last year I gave his teacher a hot chocolate cone I made.
  16. This year we are doing Thanksgiving at my sister in law's house so the only thing I have to cook is the turkey, she's cooking everything else. Although I will probably make the rolls too (a recipe I got from my aunt). I'm hosting Christmas Eve this year at my house so I'll do all the cooking for that. I forgot to mention there will be 11 or 12 of us for dinner.

    Annual Bears

My kids only have one (from the year they were born). They've never been played with.
  18. Actually those toy prices aren't black friday things....they are Rollbacks that just came down from Home Office.
  19. Me too, I'm hoping that the job interview I have tomorrow works out and I get the job offer so I can stop stressing about money.
  20. I haven't tried this yet but it sounds really good so I will probably make it this year for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Apple Cinnamon Upside Down Cake 12 tbsp. butter 1 c. packed brown sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 peeled, cored, and sliced Granny Smith apples 2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder ¼ tsp. salt ¾ tsp. sugar 1 tsp. lemon zest 1 egg 1 ¼ c. buttermilk Preheat oven to 350 F. Coat 9” round cake pan with cooking spray. Melt 6 tbsp butter; combine with brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread over bottom of pan. Arrange apple slices on top of mixture. Combine flour, soda, baking powder, and salt; reserve. Beat remaining butter, sugar and zest until creamy. Beat in egg and buttermilk. Combine with flour mixture. Spread over fruit. Bake 40-45 minutes or until done. Cool 10 minutes in pan, then turn out onto platter.
  21. I have left over Star Wars and Disney Princess wrapping paper from last year so I'm using that and then whatever catches my eye this year.
  22. About the only thing flying off my shelves are the TMX Elmo and Tamagotchis. Other than that, my store has most of what has been mentioned here in stock.
  23. I buy one every year for my nieces and nephew, they seem to love them.
