Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009
arelf27 replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
**I hear you about someone else buying it and the gas/time issues. However sometimes I might drive to a Target that's a bit further away (15/20 miles or so) because I have fun looking for these different bargains and to have some time away from the kids (so I don't go koo-koo :)) Or if it's too cold outside we just go with ds1 to get out of the house so I don't count gas cause it's all for fun in anyway. Plus I wouldn't stalk the store everyday. I might just call to see if the price went down (on the usual mark-down day for that item) and then plan accordingly. I mean if it's not there then it wasn't meant to be.. Also the reason I have been thinking that is because I have been seeing lots of items that are going through the clearancing process in one store but in the rest of them they stay full price. So there wouldn't be any reason to stalk there Targets. -

**I guess you should have gotten the magazine then, cause they do sell them you know :) -
We've ordered from them before when they had coupon code for some percentage off. They do that once in a while and that really makes a good deal! I can't see anything I'm interested in now though..looks like all old movies.

I would check JCPenney and Sears. We also have two pillow-top mattresses - one we bought at Sleepies (sp?) 8 yrs. ago and the other one I believe was JCPenney (or maybe Sears?) 5 or 6 yrs. ago. Both are still fine. The one from Sleepies has pillow on both sides and the one from JCPenney only on one side (which made it a lot cheaper.) We also bought dd3 bed and a twin matress from JCPenney about a year ago and I remember their prices were unbelievable. I do remember they had some kind of a special sale at the time but they really have some nice stuff on-line. We just ordered it and had it all delivered for in-store pick-up and everything looked in person just like it did on their website.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009

I am curious..seeing how diff. Targets put different items on clearance quite often, it would seem beneficial in some cases to buy something at one Target, where that particular item is plentiful and is not being clearanced and return to the other Target, that has started the mark-down process for that particular item, to increase one's chances of getting this item 50% or 75% off. Are there any holes in this theory? -
**Yeh, I guess ours is doing something similar (also bought at Target - 75%.) When hubby 1st try to play a dvd on it it wouldn't work.. Then he noticed something stuck in the playing mechanism (wherever that is) so he used a keyboard blower to blow it out and it started working. Well now he says it doesn't want to play DVD again. I guess from the reviews I read on Amazon half of these are lemons.. Take a look at those reviews and see what others are saying..

**I guess you were supposed to fight with them so they give it to you for 75%?? I really hate it though when you have to fight teeth and nails for something. I think if something is supposed to be a certain way (like they make a mistake) they should just offer to correct it themselves, now that would be Great Customer Service!! -
Should this be moved to offline? Are you talking about pgs. in their add - I'm totally confused..

What kind of shampoo?? Do they have Paul Mitchell, Biolage, and the like? Is it just for shampoo/conditioner, not for other hair products? Tnx.

Just FYI, I don't know how it's rated but I don't think this is a family movie. I only saw parts of it last night (not a big fan of animation) but I was actually surprised at the parts that I did see. There was a quite violent a** kicking scene, a very scary gun shooting scene, and a very sexual flurting scene and I wasn't really watching so prob. missed a lot more.. Now, the 1st one we have watched with dd3 and ds1 a number of times.. Def. will not be watching this one together with them, though.. I haven't yet asked hubby if he liked it (he LOVED the 1st one, it was his favorite cartoon for a long time until Ratatoulle came out) but I am glad we only paid $2 for it. Just my two cents.. -

**If we're talking about bedding linens, I just saw some (can't remember brand) 450 thread count 75% off at one of my Targets. I could only find Twin size though (at least 10 pks.), so I have a feeling they might have just discounted that size but then again maybe all Queen and King were grabbed quickly. These were very nice, I sure would have picked some up if I found them in Queen (I think it was something like 17.xx down from 6x.xx?) I was very surprised to see these 75% as all the rest of linens and comforters were 50%. So I guess you never know!! **Oh yeh.. forgot to mention that these were on the end cap and in the isle but then on the opposite wall on the end cap they had this same brand on an end cap - all sizes and these were wringing full price. I think I also overheard an employee commenting how the new packaging for these was nicer than the old so I guess they got all new styles and so were trying to get rid of the old ones fast.. -
Anyone sees anything Smart Cycle? I'm not but just in case I'm doing the search wrong or whatever.. Tnx.

OP and kren Thank You So Much for an amazing offer!!! Hubby picked up the 1-disk DVD for $2 at CVS plus 3 pks. of paper towels and some diapers. He used some coupons for P&G products too and thought the paper towels were an awesome price at CVS in anyway. He said he'll be buying them there from now on instead of BJ's or Target! Plus he got free CVS-brand cough drops ($1.50 value), so a great deal all around! He didn't get to use the print out though, as he found an actual newspaper coupon while looking for Blu-Ray in Walmart (which he didn't found - but that's OK because for $20 we'll be able to find it later at Amazon I'm sure) BTW: We're watching the DVD now :) -

Are you guys using the actual coupon from paper or the print-out? I just came back from Walmart and the guy tried to scan the coupon (that I printed out using our relatively new laser printer) and it wouldn't scan. He called over a manager (I think?) and she went behind some register and either tried to scan a coupon or whatever but came back and said they didn't accept this one?? What am I doing wrong?? I don't know if it's because I printed using color or if I should ask hubby to print it again and work and try using at a different Walmart?? I really want to get Blu-ray one with $5 coupon. Has anyone actually printed this thing out and it scaned fine? Thank you!!! -

**Hm...would they have really given it to you if it was still on the shelf? I guess I don't quite get how that makes a difference because they have had Toys as low as 75% sitting on these shelves with signs saying 30%. I guess this makes me even sadder.. Because I've had this very dissapointing experience at Target this week when I was told by an employee with a scanner-gun a ride-on was 75% off but once I got it home I came to realize it was only 30% off. The thing is, the box with a ride-on was on the top shelve in that clearance isle that still had 75% off sign. It looks a little weird on one side too, can't really understand if it was opened before (so might be a return) or if the box was just slightly damaged by something sharp.. I couldln't even get that thing down so I called an employee and asked him to scan it for me and he told me it was $50. Now, I have no idea how much these things cost, so I assumed it was one of those $200 dollar ones (Plus it kinda seemed reasonable - seeing how Smores, Biscuit, Kota and all those other bigger toys were clearanced around $50.) Problem is, I asked him if this was a clearance item at 75% and he told me to wait SO HE CAN DOUBLE-CHECK!! So he stands there punching some numbers, then confidently tells me - Yep, it's 75% off!! So I told him to load it into my cart.. Come home, try to look it up on the Internet and find it at Walmart at around $69. I call this Target and they confirm they have this one for $59 and the girl has no idea whether this is a Clearance item or regular price or what.. Call another Target and this girl tells me they have this ride-on in the system for $69.xx and that is indeed the Original Price. So now I'm stuck with this HUGE box that I have to drive back to Target! I've wasted my time, gas and whatever else and on top I was so excited to get a good deal because I really need a ride-on for ds1 for summer but not something that has iffy reviews and at 30% off.. So is there anyway I can get this thing at 75%? Like bring it back on Wensday and return on Thursday morning hoping to see it marked-down more (then do that once again in two weeks or so??) Should I wait another week or more to return this one?? I really don't understand how does it work with timing and marking these things down?? Cause it seems that if I wait for a month and bring it back then they would have to clearance it at 75% off right away or am I missing something?? Also if I bring it back to the store that has this one in the system full price they wouldn't put it on mark-down right? So I have to make sure to bring it back to the same store where I bought it? Although..I have to say I'm not even sure I have seen any of these ride-ons in Target before. Are they selling these 6-volt outside things or are they going to be brining these out comes closer to Summer? -
Buster Brown Shoes - What are they?

Thanks everyone!! They just had these as a "Special Of The Day" on Amazon for $9.99 (supposedly down from 3x.xx for some pairs) so I decided for that price it was worth a try. Bought two pairs, marry janes for dd3 and sandals for ds1. They looked kind of expensive and I Love the fact that they are leather, so we'll see.. I'm used to buying Stride Rite for the kids along with Umi's & Primigi (all at 60%+ discount) so just wanted to be sure these weren't Kohl's/Walmart/Target quality (because I'd rather try those at Target on 75% clearance) -

**I just realized that the one I'm looking for is probably not called a ride-on. I was really asking about those things which are battery operated and they ride like 2 miles an hour and you ride them outside.. I don't even know which ones Target carries but maybe something like this: http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/02/70/84/59/0002708459643_215X215.jpg -

**Are you talking about a ride-on? Because it's sure sounds cheap for a bike. Is there a picture anywhere on-line (Walmart, Amazon, etc.) so I can understand what you guys are talking about. -
Does anyone know if they carry Smart Cycle cartridges and if there are any deals on those? Thanks!

Yey!! I saw it at Walmart Today for 37.xx so will try to return there for sure. All of a sudden I'm seeing this thing everywhere - must be a new design which the stores are now all getting in stock. Funny thing is, my cousin got both of my kids a present from Amazon. This easel for dd3 and Little People ride-on from Target (bought through Amazon). Each was like $30-$40 and def. not worth that price. Well the Target one we brought back and got a gift card that same night it was delivered. (Oh well.. she lives in another state so she will never know I exchanged her gifts.. :)) I'm wondering though.. I saw FP Kid Tough DVD Player at Walmart Today for $10x.xx. I'm considering getting that one and seeing if it works any better than the one that I got at Target. Because apparently after I told you all it is wonderfull, my hubby is now saying we need to exchange it because it plays disks sometimes and at other times it doesn't. So can I return the one I bought at Target to Walmart and keep the one from Walmart (if it works!)? I mean if it's broken it will be shipped to the manufacturer so who cares if it's shipped by Target or Walmart. Along those lines I was also wondering why wouldn't someone then just return the DVD Player to Walmart (after buying it at Target 75% or even at 50%) and making some dough?? -

**I saw a 20" (I think?) bike at 50% at Target a couple of days ago. I mentioned it in one of my posts above. It was 4x.xx down from 8x.xx. Not a Schwinn but some other brand. Hawaiian motive (either light blue, or purple or pink - something light for sure) It was def. a large bike in with the rest of them on the back wall. I saw at least 3 all with a red sticker. It's hard to know they're on sale cause there's no sign or anything but if you're looking specifically through that area you should be able to spot the little red tags.. (Hopefully this wasn't just a one-store deal..) -

The Target I went to yesterday still had a tiny bit of Bulk left and lucky for me there were 3 boxes of diapers - 2 of those were size 6 so I grabed them! They are Huggies and not Pampers (which we usually use) but that works too! Funny thing is, as I was going around the perimeter just looking for stuff that I might be interested in and that I thought could be 75% I ended up with 3 things in my cart which rang NOF!! Brown bath towels - 2 pk. and two princess shoes (marry janes and snickers). In the end they said shoes were full price and they wanted to charge me 3.xx for towels so I said No Thank You!! (I find this Target never budges on prices and are kind of rude too.) I did find those electric scizzors at 75%. I think I saw them once before but didn't think we needed them. Well hubby and I were the talking the night before about cutting up all those carton boxes that we've kept in case anything needed to be returned. We have so many now they are taking up half of our office. Naturally, I thought these would be perfect for that. Too bad for hubby they are a very pretty shade of pink though.. :) This Target also had lots of mark-downs in dishes. I know people have mentioned Correlle set before at 17.xx but they had a bunch of other sets at the same price as well. I'm not sure if they had the actual merchandise still left or not though.. They do it kind of different from other Targets, because they put each set on display, above the boxes and list the price right there. I did find a 4 pk. of very pretty red margarita glasses at 5.xx down from 20.xx in with the dishes. Oh.. and while the guy waited FOREVER for the mngr. to show up to tell him what all of those NOF things cost and then while they argued with me and took FOREVER to come up with the prices, the guy ended up only scanning one box of my diapers. Even though I told him 3 times to not forget to scan them because both boxes were under the cart. I really felt like a criminal coming up to that register with all of these NOF things even though I didn't hid them but I sure felt strange about it all. That's why I insisted on him to scan the diapers!! Well ds1 was getting tired and even started screaming at one point so I couldn't wait to get out of there.. Wonder if that's illegal not paying for that box and if I need to bring it back and pay for it or what?? (Maybe I should just pretend I got them at 75% off :))
