Associates will start handing out wristbands at 4:00 PM today. That is a great way to be able to get some of the non-ticked items and be able to walk around the store, but also make sure you get the ticketed items you want.

I guess another thing I do is occasionally someone will ask me to pick something up for them since they know i will be out and about... I will typically mark the item up a few dollars for the trouble and risk of having to fight the crowds to get the item. You never know when someone will run off with your shopping cart while your back is turned.

I buy a backup straight talk phone every year and, if mine is still in good shape, I sell my backup phone the first week in November. Typically make about $20 as I have been lucky enough not to break a phone yet. The only reason i do not upgrade my phone every year instead is I hate going through all the trouble.

I woke up about 7:00 and on a whim checked and there were actually a lot of items I wanted still available. I added them to my cart, but in the time it took me to enter my card number one of them sold out and put me under the free shipping mark... I guess I will try my luck at the stores.

Does this even count as an ad? No prices???

The eBay ad looks pretty darn good. Does anyone know if we can get to the items at regular price yet?

Wal-Mart has horrible communication. Remember the "Secret Sales" about 7 years ago. They were so secret even the stores did not know about them. Night crew rarely knows about anything. They are there to stock the shelves. If they do not get there stuff done they get in trouble, no matter how many customers asked them about $115 TV's. Day shift is there to take care of the customers. I think the problem is the system. All that technology and they cannot get an email to a department head to let them know that there is a sale. They need to come up with a better delivery system.

For the states with loss leader laws, the way it is supposed to work is that if the company has a physical location in that state they cannot advertise sale items at a loss. If they do not then they are not bound by the laws of that state and can sell it for whatever price they want to. For anyone after the Skylanders, Toys R Us told me they will price match it tomorrow.

Does anyone remember how this worked last year? They said on facebook they will be doing them again this year but I am getting old and forgetful. I know I had one on last year, but I cannot remember if I had to stay in line or if I was able to walk around.

It is people like this who ruin things for everyone. I hope Walmart goes after them for fraud.

To get the $199 TV you will have to get in line early... My guess would be Wednesday night in most places. When I was younger I totally would have done it, but when it is only $20 more and you know you will get one without having to spend a day in line, plus you can get a lot more shopping done, I would say go to Walmart. I think the key to the one hour guarantee is to order the item early online... my guess is they ship them first come first serve. I ordered mine last year as soon as I got home and, while it did take me a minute to get through because the site was so busy, I got my TV in a week or 2.

I was hoping to see Skylanders early again this year.

Tires are generally easy to get on Black Friday. You may also call a few local places and see if they will give you the same deal as in the Walmart Black Friday ad now... never know... you might get lucky and find someone who is slow and needs the business.

Last year Friday was a graveyard at Walmart... I agree it would have been smart for them to have had another wave at, say, 8:00 AM... but they also have to consider possibly not having the manpower to deal with cleaning up the store and then more crowds Friday morning.

Unfortunately I think that may be the best deal this year... always hard to say though. You can always return it if you find it cheaper later.

I agree about the perception of deals not being as good... If you don't have a laptop and want one the deals are great... if you have 3 that you camped out for in past years then the deals are not so great.

Does anyone know about the nextbook that runs windows 8.1? Does it run apps? Is it worth the money? Thanks!

Did she order it in time? That happened to a lot of people... they did not go online and order it on time.

I like to browse our local Toys R Us Monday mornings. I month or two ago I happened to be walking through when they found a bin of clearance items they forgot to bring out. Everything was 90% off so I ended up with about $1000 worth of toys (and popsicles, oddly enough) for about $100.

Such a tease. I am going to bed. That is odd, my alarm is set 30 minutes earlier than when I normally get up.
