  1. Anyone think they will have any secret sales this year? They were really good 2 years ago, but they did not have any last year. Has anyone heard anything?
  2. Just found out it is legal to sell tickets in front of the store in my state... Hmmmm............ Nope, my wife and I decided we are not gunna do it. She just told me about our decision.
  3. Don't think hourly employees would have this info yet. Sorry, but I think they are screwing with you. (sorry, saw that one and just had to use it.)
  4. For most people this will be more than what you need. Heck, they are all made in China now, so look at what is inside, not the name in the outside.
  5. That was what I thought until XP, now I get PC's and still have money in the bank. Selling my old macs as we speak.
  6. Not always on Black Friday, but we did buy a computer for the church two years ago.
  7. Sounds like you folks have a problem with the armature shoppers. Try telling my kids they can’t go with me and they will have a fit. We bring heaters, tents, hand warmers, blankets and sleeping bags, lots of coats, plenty of food, and make it a grand event every year (plus we have been on TV the last 3 years, so they have that to talk about when they go to school). This is similar to the boy and girl scout campouts they go on starting at age 6, only with heaters (I freeze my butt off at those). Now when the shopping starts the kids stay with mommy who keeps them safe while daddy gets the deals, and we don’t bring out any kids under 3 until the last minute, but it really is a time of togetherness and bonding for my family. Heck, last year we did not even buy anything at the store we camped out at (and no, we did not sell any tickets either), we just had fun camping out as a family. Now those of you who would stand in the cold without heaters and bring young children, that is another deal entirely, but if you are prepared bringing your children can be a lot of fun. By the way, don’t be upset if my kid gets your door buster :gdevillaugh:
  8. Great idea! Some banks have a minimum number of months you can have an account open for, so check on that.
  9. Looks like they are going with the "put everything on sale for a little bit and hope somebody wants something" strategy. I don't remember ever seeing this many door busters for a single store in the past.
  10. Call walmart corp. and complain while you are in line. That is their store policy (at least it was last year). I have had this problem before and when the walmart "brass" gets involved they have always done what they were supposed to do.
  11. Probably going to need to be able to get a text. Why am I too cheap to get texting...WHY?
  12. My kids are all ready for our yearly camp out! I would have to say one of the coolest things was our first time making the news. We have made it the last 3 years! Happy hunting everyone! John
  13. My wife was talking to the security people at out local WM today (caught a shop lifter). She mentioned that she wished they still had lay-away and they told her (shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! this part is secret) don't tell anyone, but they are going to start a walmart.com site to store lay-away program. She could not get any specifics, though. Has anyone else heard anything? I am sure they did not mean don't tell you guys. We are family, right .
  14. I am with you. If anyone would have stopped to help the guy they would have also been trampled. I have been in this situation. It is not pretty. We were lucky that no one died in the one I was in. Walmart needs a better system. I hope they come up with one this year.
  15. My wife and I have been doing BF since before we were married. It started out going for the deals, but now it is more tradition. We now have 4 kids (2-10) and it has become a family campout. The kids tell all their friends to watch for them on TV (been on the news the last 3 years). We break out the tents and heaters and the kids go on their yearly camp out with Dad while Mom comes by with food and for bathroom breaks. I shop on Black Friday to create memories and spend time with my kids. P.S. Brad, last year my gottadeal.com shout out got cut from all 3 networks that interviewed me. A t-shirt could get you some free air time.
  16. Not sure what to expect this year. I never did Black Friday at CC, but BB had to be on their toes to stay ahead of them. Last year we were first in line again at BB, but got out of line Thanksgiving day when there were no secret sales. I am hoping Wal-Mart will give BB a run for their money with the higher quality electronics they now carry, and we will have some success with our yearly camp out. I think, all in all, BB exec's would be most worried about WM this year, which could lead to something amazing.
  17. Got this off their site: From $458.00 Final price depends on the options you choose. Nintendo Wii Bundle w/ Wii Fit Includes: Nintendo Wii Console Wii Remote Controller Wii Nunchuk Controller Wii Fit w/ Balance Board Wii Fit accessory kit Your choice of game Optional choice of Wii accessory Happy shopping!
  18. Keep checking back, you still have plenty of time. Last year we got my son's for $129 at Best Buy, but it came with a $20 gift card (which we used to buy a game). This year we got my daughter's at amazon.com for $129, but it came with Guitar Hero for only $10 more (a $50 value). Sorry, I do not know of any deals like that right now, though.
  19. WE got there last year at like 5PM and still ended up with about 20 - 25 titles that we liked. It will probably be worth the trip.
  20. Sorry, I think you are out of luck again.
  21. There is no HP at BB for $350. The cheapest is $500. If she is using the computer for "normal" purposes (and from what you write, I think she is) the toshiba will be a good choice. We have had 2 that have been just dandy.
  22. No such luck this year. Best I saw was $10.
  23. Ya, Taz, I think we all appreciated what you told us... I know I did. I just wish it had been right . We will try again next year! Have fun everybody! I'll be staying home for the first time in 15 years, and all my friends will (and already have) started to make fun of me (they call me Mr. Black Friday and cannot believe I will be sleeping in). ... Well, maybe I could go to the ____ _____ and get that _____ ______, or go get that thing at ________. We will see.
  24. My thoughts exactly. We have been planning and saving all year. We got in line yesterday morning... did 2 news interviews (I think I got some air time for you in Wichita, Brad, they were asking a lot of questions about the site). Then I checked the internet this morning and saw nothing... so I checked the ad to see if they mentioned the secret sales the way they did last year... only online sales mentioned (originally I thought they meant they would post their secret specials online, but now I really think it means online only sales). So we broke camp along with the 20 people behind us. I guess walmart will be getting my $$$ this year. Now we have to figure out what to make for Thanksgiving dinner (a first since I have been married). My wife will be writing best buy to tell them thank you for letting our family eat a traditional Thanksgiving dinner together.
  25. You guys are so silly... Buy what you want now, go in early on Friday and have the items price adjusted. No getting banned, no going to jail. Here is walmart's official policy: Price adjusting policy • Price adjustments will be given on prior Wal-Mart purchases within 7 days of purchase with a valid Wal-Mart receipt. • The Customer is required to provide the original receipt to receive the adjustment. • Price adjustments are not given for merchandise that is on clearance. • Price adjustments are not given for merchandise that goes on sale at another retailer. • Associates are not eligible to receive price adjustments.
