  1. Has anyone seen the sale mailing for this event? Usually it's sent to Plus card holders. I believe it falls on the weekend before Thanksgiving. Usually a great place to by limited items at a great price (like phones.)
  2. This will be the first time I have shopped Meijer for this sale. Do they have maps? How will the IPAD and other electronic sales be run? Is it like Wal-Mart?
  3. This is by far the worst Menards ad ever! The Claw? Didn't they have that 6 years ago? Did they have it hiding back is some warehouse, forgot about them and decided to bring them out? I look forward to this sale because there is at least a couple of things that make it worth going. Not this year!
  4. So I went into Sams Club today to check out the Samsung S6 deal for Nov. 14th. You have to be a Plus member to take advantage of the deal. Upgrade your regular membership, get the plus membership and then after the sale, ask for a refund on the membership and get your money back. Option A - They said that the phone would be sold retail ($650 and up) and you would need to sign up for 24 month, 0% to pay it off. You'll get the $300 gift card that can be used at Walmart or sams club. So you get the phone (in theory) for $350. You can switch the phone with any carrier at any time with out additional fees. Option B - If you sign for a two year contract, the phone is 96 cents and pay an additional $40 for a new phone add because its a new contract. So you save $5 with going with option A. I still don't know if the Staples deal is actually better. Thoughts?

  6. It looks like Target might have the better deal. I'm going into Sam's Club before Saturday to check it out.
  7. Is the Samsung Galaxy 6 a good deal with the installment plan?
  8. They posted up the Emerson 12" TV and the Vizio 65" TV today. Feel stupid standing in line for the 1 hour guarantee for both of those. I should of just waited until today!
  9. My wife grabbed two of the $30 LEGO block kits right away! They only had 12 at our store. They were gone in 15 seconds! They were twice the size as previous years. Our sons love LEGO's and we use them as part of our gift bags for their birthday parties.
  10. I was at Menards last night after 8:30 and noticed they had most of the items out. The workers were getting nervous of the few of us there checking out the layout. When I asked them if they had maps,; they said they did not and you had to get them online. The black and Decker cordless mower (this is my #1 item for the sale) was located at the intersection between lumber and windows. There is 8 of them out. The Itek fitness bands are in the appliance area and there were only 12 of them. I read the package and it doesn't list a website or any real specs. It doesn't even record sleep. So the maps online are accurate to where they are putting the merchandise. At least at my store!
  11. Out managers don't come outside, they send the receiving/lumber employees to watch the line. An employee I spoke with yesterday, said they just fired 9 employees for theft and not wanting to show up for BF. They are worried they are going to have enough staff to control the crowds! Over the years, appears Menards tries to compete with Wal-Mart, Meijer, etc. but finds away to make a similar product for less from China. Like these itek fitness monitors or the sharper image hd cameras.
  12. Stopped in Menards tonight to pick up some PEX supplies and noticed that they are starting to label the end caps with the items that need to be placed there. The map they provide online is vague, so I like to take that map into the store around 8:30 pm and start figuring out exactly where everything is placed. Most people that enter the store don't even realize there is a map. The best way to get to the back of the store (By appliances - where the BF electronics is at) is cut through the alleyway between plumbing and Heating/cooling items and head straight back. Then make a left and you will get there before all the people waiting at the front door! The employees intentionally have the people slow down throughout the main aisle! So this bypass strategy has worked for me for the past 5 years and I always get what I came for! It's all about the strategy!
  13. Has anyone seen the floor maps yet? They were to be on their website.
  14. I'm going after the Itek fitness monitors and the cordless lawnmower!
