My dh loves it. We have so much fun together. It is one of the few times we get out without the kids, so it is like a "date" for us.

I would do a movie basket. Pick a good Christmas movie/cartoon. Then you can add the theater candies, bottles of soda, microwave popcorn, etc. Journey to the center of the earth would be a good DVD to choose, since it comes with the 3D glasses. Kids love those.

We don't really have any rules. We just buy each other whatever we want/need. I usually buy dh 1 big ticket item and he gets me more small gifts.

I have a dsd12 and dss11. We are just giving them gift cards this year, that way we cant get it wrong :).

We always do buffet style. I like it, because there is more space on the dining table.

Our store wasn't on the original list either. They still have a ton of stuff, but it is only at 15-30% right now. I'll wait.

I think toys 'r' us is almost always more expensive, when compared to Target or Walmart. I guess it all just depends on what your looking for.

I freecycle ours. People will take anything and you can just leave it on your curb for them to pick up.

Once they hit high school. We have not had any teenagers trick or treat at our house the past few years.

We do things the same way at our house. I need some kind of order for my sanity :).

The supercenter closest to me is always closed on Thanksgiving. Walgreens is the only thing open around here and that is only from 9am-6pm.

I wouldn't take my kids, only because: I shop for them, and it would be no fun if they knew what they are getting I don't have the patience to deal with them and other people, all in the same day I am fotunate enough to have someone to watch them It is the 1 day out of the year that is all mine I live in a large city and I have never seen the madness other people might have witnessed. So do what you feel comfortable with.

No tax free holiday, but we did get a state tax rebate check this week for $160. I love unexpected money :)

We are within 8 miles of everything, so not far at all.

I hardly ever shop for myself on bf unless it is a big ticket purchase.

I have already gotten alot of my shopping done. I think about $1500 will finish me up completely.

Christmas Eve is always a mexican buffet. Homemade tamales, tostada, and posole. Christmas dinner is always the traditional. Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, etc.

Exactly the same here. But I "like" my job as oppossed to "love" my job.

About 7 years now, ever since our first was born.

My biggest pet peeve is shopping carts. If you know you are only getting a couple things you don't need a cart and if you do need one be polite and push it to the side instead of creating a big traffic jam

We usually leave the house at 4am and then dh goes to work around 10am. I finish shopping and am usually home between 1-3 in the afternoon.
