Man that sux! I work in a hospital as well. (CT Scan) I know the frustrations of working over the holidays. Each year I make it a point to be sure I'm off Christmas. I can schedule myself overnight Thanksgiving and on NYD and have people take my X-Mas if needed. This year's gonna be a hedache because we just had a person quit who was scheduled to work both X-Mas eve and Day and they haven't filled her spot in yet.

I looked up the past deals thread and did a search and there's nothing on the boards here. I know they usually have monster dels between BF and Christmas, but I con't remember what they had on BF last year....sorry.

I give to the donation boxes at work. Toys for Tots, Canned Food Drive, Etc.

We've always done stockings, even when I was a kid. Funny story.... Me and DW's first Christmas, I bought her a matching diamond earrings & pendant and put it in her stocking. I got to mine and found deodorant. Just wondering if she was she trying to tell me something?

I think most of the big toy books and catalogues come out the same weekend. All I know is that I have to get 2 sunday papers that day. One for the kids and one for me so I have my stuff ready.

Ace Hardware around me was clearing spots for X-mas Lights about two weeks after Labor Day. BJ's in Deptford had theirs up October 2nd. It comes early each year for the stores because they have so much product to move out, starting with the older stuff from the prior year and like someone said, with the economy being as unstable as it is now, they're trying to make back as much as they can.

Now I have a question about this. It says that purchasing a GC doesn't count towards the membership rewards program...but, howabout if you purchase something with a GC. Would that purchase count? Yea...I gotta be a pain in the Butt and ask these questions, cause I have alot of money on a GC that I plan to use for shopping.

I got the mailer here. 5 off 25 and a bunch of coupons. Target opened near me last week unannounced. It was slated to open yesterday.

And there's always a 2-3 hour wait to get into the Christiana Mall every Black Friday.

Last year, me and DW went to TRU. I saw the line for the R-Zone and decided that we should split up. I went and asked a person who worked there to show me the back of the line and was directed. It came to my time to enter and I was told I was cutting in front of the line along with three other people. I looked at the guard and showed him the person who put me in the line, who verified, but he wouldn't budge. I went to the back of the line, which they now swerved up and down the aisles and got to the opening and was told I was in the wrong line again. They made me go to the R-Zone line again and merged me with the other cattle. It took me another half-hour to get through and get the four things I needed.

My plans actally start @ tax time. I got TRU money and a Target Card because those are the stores I know I'll be hitting the hardest for Toys and whatnot. My DW also plans for babysitting and I plan my hours @ work to schedule my time off for BF shopping. So shopping plans happen when the ads come out, but the actual laid out plans for BF happen long before.

I want them all! I want them all! I want them all! And I Want Them! NOW!!!!!!!!!

Was about to say the same thing. Got bikes the last three years at WM for under twenty. Children's bikes with training wheels, not the 18 inch.

TRU 4 years ago. Was in and out in under thirty minutes. (But back then I only had two to shop for and the gifts weren't as big as they are today.)

My only problem.....I have a two and a four year old. How do I know which mischief is the "elf" and which are my kids??

I got a few gifts for my oldest son that I thought he'd like and wanted to be sure that he got. I'll be looking for a few more items between her and BF before the big sales happen. (wanna keep the kids happy this year)

just a warning. The MM Clubhouse is nice, but the slide, look out post and the boot/door come off very easily. My kids play with it and are constantly yelling at me to fix their toy.

I'm assuming that he's under three with that statement. I really wouldn't risk the cold weather and rude people to save a few bucks, especially with on-line shopping available. I know it's not Black Friday with the crowds and the traffic, but you gotta think of DS first! sorry.

I always say that stores like TRU and WM should have security on BF. I have seen fights break out at both places.

Would we expect anything less from them. I mean....we all saw what they did last year....does this really surprise anyone?

Lottery tickets. they always bring a smile...especially if they win. One year, my DW got two different color 3'x6' lengths of fabric and made homemade blankets. Just cut and tie them together.

I'd love to see a "Traffic System" implemented for TRU for the "R" Zone and the regular register and NOT have everything be switched just as I get to the door of the "R" Zone and sent to the back of the line. (happened to me twice)
