Guitar Hero World Tour vs Rock Band 2
Scanner420 replied to zooskoo's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
It all depends on what your grandson's tastes are, as far as gaming. If he just wants a good experience to appreciate music, wants something to play with his friends and get the occasional downloads, go for Rockband, but I suggest you get it for the X-Box 360 version if he has it, only because there seems to be more download content available now for that system, with the promise of stuff coming for PS3, PS2 and Wii later in the new year. If your GS wants the above, along with being able to be more involved with character creation, buying game gear and on-line play, then GHWT would be the game to pick. Can't really give a pick on which system to buy for since it's relatively new and I haven't heard any bad stuff about it yet. I own RB1 and love the play and hopefully I'll get the RB 2 disc, as well as the track pack @ X-Mas time. And I played the guitar for GHWT and thought the guitar had a better feel to it. The drums looked liked a smaller set I would get for my 2 year old. (I was afraid I'd break them.) I'm not picking one set list over another since most of the songs will be available via download on most systems by next year. Like I said, it seems that GHWT has more to offer through on-line play, downloads and character creation. Here's a debate thread I have going in the Technology Forum with opinions. http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?p=1378244#post1378244 Hope it helps. Click the above link and see the post by Scott. I LOL'd! -

Man! I'd be setting traps for her on a daily basis. At the least standing next to my mailbox when she comes for her deliveries. I'd also call her Mrs. Cliff Claven.

Was wondering when these things would come out again. Now I just need a link to free elf bowling and we're set in my house! TY!

My morning show was actually talking about this, this morning. LOL. They had people call debating the issue on both sides and then one of the guys on the show, went into a comedic rant about using lay-away for everything from food shopping to cars. Man- Yea! I'd like to get this Corvette! Dealer- How much do you want to put down! Man- I'll put $15.00 down and come back next week with another twenty towards it next week! (laughter) Man- The way I'm going! I'll be the proud owner when I retire!

Coming down with a case of them now. Dunno why? How do you deal with them?

We have never set limits and don't really go all out with the gifts at Christmastime. I basically have a list and go by that.

Two years we got him lottery tickets and the other two, we gave him a coffee card from a local place in town. Garbage men I put out a case of beer with the day-after X-Mas trash. Don't get the paper delivered so paperboy is SOL.

Oakley Doakley!! I have in my possession.....a small coffee jar. Inside the jar is quarters, that I use for my poker night. I plan to cash in the jar before BF. Closest guess to the amount w/o going over wins the T-Shirt I'll post the reciept for proof. BTW- I suggested this idea to Brad about 3 weeks ago and didn't read the past three pages. So if anyone thinks I'm copying an idea or simply reposting....think again! Bucko! -

Things aren't looking too good this season for CC! I actually went to one about two months ago for a car DVD player and they were out-of-stock. I looked around and they were actually with alot of things. I haven't been back there, since I only go there as a last resort these days. -
A Christmas registry. Now I've seen everything!

Heard my first for a resturant in Center City, Philly, advertising to get Holiday Gatherings. OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhh

mah bad...sorry. If you're planning to shop, then I suggest you get there before 4 to get a spot in line. Doors usually open by 5am.

With only needing a few baby things, you might be better off at babies R us instead of TRU. It's not as congested.
-
TRU had a GHWT setup inside the store. I sat behind the drums and thought I would break the kit because it was alot smaller than I had anticipated. I used to be a serious hardcore drummer back in the day. This kit looked like one of my kids mini sets.
-
Kenny G is ok, but it puts me to sleep. I like Boyz2Men's Christmas, as well as, the fun stuff that the kids get into.
-
M'eh...I don't care how old they are as long as they're dressed for the part. If they go out to even put a sheet over their heads, I'll give candy, but if you come to my door with just a bag in hand and expect something, you get a boot in the @ss!

Basically.......every scrap leftover from the pig that's not used for ham, sausage, bacon or hotdogs. It has a great flavor, especially when spiced right, but it's real high in fat and cholesterol. Sorry.....had to LOL @ this. Nothing against you Eve.

TY Mayor Jim....my bad.

Alright! I have a small play area for my kids both up and down stairs. (Downstairs has more room.) And after a long day with 4 little ones running around, my house looks like TRU exploded. Now with BF shopping a mere month away and a visit from Mister Ho-Ho himself on the near horizion, how do you make room in your respective places for the incoming haul of toys, games, prizes, etc. I hate to say it, but I weed through their toys and toss out older ones that have seen better days.(we have bulk pickup twice a month in my town) My DW tried to get the kids to contribute to a yardsale one year and she was only able to get a small shoebox full of stuff that found it's way back into the house. I LOL'd. Donating stuff is really out since most places only take certain items, (like the little tykes toys that can be easily cleaned.) or they're picky and want newer stuff. And selling is out since we're on time constraints with mine and DW's work schedules, along with the kids school and post-school routines. Let's hear some of yours.
