I was looking to build a new computer around March/April of next year. The way my computer has been acting the past few days (hdds are iffy), I may have to push that up. I think I have it limping along again... I guess I could rebuild this one. It would probably work fine for several more years. BUT, I need to convince DW that it is about to die otherwise a new build won't be approved.

Wife told me no more buying stuff online! How rude! LOL I still need to buy for my coworkers!

Not sure if I can remember. I'm here multiple times each month, even in the off season.

I believe that ALL Arlo cameras are rechargeable batteries. They are the standard ones. Not the "PRO" version. Pro comes with alarm and can record voice also. Standard does not.

You may want to check to see if the appliance price is available now. Most are currently on sale all this month at Black Friday prices.
-
Home Depot, Lowes, and JCP have all advertised "Black Friday prices Now" on the appliances. I haven't gone through the JCP ad yet to actually see. Do you think we will have another price drop? The prices seem to be roughly the same throughout the stores (similar to how Samsung has done their TVs for years). Will Best Buy or Fry's net us a better deal?

DW just decided we need a new Washer/Dryer. I'm hoping to find some quality devices. As someone above already mentioned, is Black Friday actually the best time to buy?

That's HUGE! Where is the PDF?

I'm looking for security cameras this year. Ones NOT tied to a monthly fee, or very small one. We are currently looking at the Netgear ones that are fully wireless. Any thoughts on pricing on 3+ camera systems?

My son works for Wal Mart. He said that they are about to stop PM at our store, but others in the area may continue. They will all eventually stop PM. They haven't mentioned anything about savings catcher yet. It may be discontinued, or they may force whomever is doing the PM into that to save money. Savings catcher probably saves your data on what you buy, so could benefit them with more targeted advertisements.

I know I don't qualify, but here is mine! 1. Come on folks! Pass those TVs inward and build the tower around Doug! 2. Who is going to win the towel fight this year? Bets are on! 3. "Mom! I know you like to be first in line, but it is the day after Halloween!"

Woo Hoo! Thanks everyone! Good luck to everyone else! Congrats for those who won with me!

We stood in line for a couple of hours at Walmart on BF to get one for our dd. She seems very interested in it, but we will find out after Christmas. We may pick up another if we see another one that is at the top of her list, but not really important anymore.

I may get this for my dd. http://www.amazon.com/LadyColour-Swarovski-Christmas-Valentines-Anniversary/dp/B01EJIVIJK/ref=gbps_tit_s-3_bb19_31d73c53?smid=A1PVFWIDNS6DFT&pf_rd_p=41fd713f-6bfe-4299-a021-d2b94872bb19&pf_rd_s=slot-3&pf_rd_t=701&pf_rd_i=gb_main&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=J5JHRSBZBWFHZ0B1JXF4 LadyColour "Venus" Shooting Star & Hollow-out Design Heart Sapphire Pendant Necklace, Made With Swarovski Crystals, Engraved With "I Love You To The Moon and Back" $27.99

Have you considered having him build his own? You can save money (to a point) when going that direction. The typical gaming computer ($1600) can be built for about $600. It will also get him involved in the inner workings of the computer. Installation instructions are included with each item and it is actually fairly easy to assemble them. If building them from scratch scares you, he can start with a prebuilt computer, then add a medium duty video card, such as the one Len suggested above. The $329 Lenovo at Best Buy (with the i5) will do the trick as long as you buy a video card that has a "low profile bracket". The video card should run around $100-$150. If you don't have a monitor, Best Buy has the same computer paired with a large monitor for $399 pictured next to it. Granted, the PS4 is only $250, but it will be mainly used for gaming. A computer will also allow him to do his homework, school reports, and surf the web easier. To me, the computer is much more versatile and therefore worth the extra $200.

What will happen when someone "sharpens" a candy cane while in line and takes their frustration out on a poor employee? Will there be a rash of stabbings with candy shivs during the fights for towels?

Something like this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-switch-alpha-12-2-in-1-12-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i3-4gb-memory-128gb-solid-state-drive-gray/5622797.p?skuId=5622797 Full blown laptop, but detachable screen (tablet). Best of both worlds! $599 Possibly something like this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-yoga-710-11-2-in-1-11-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-pentium-4gb-memory-128gb-solid-state-drive-silver/5206500.p?skuId=5206500 Screen flips over to the back and acts like a thick tablet. Pictures show it is cooler than I described. lol $499.

Yay! First ad! It will now seem that it takes "forever" for a "good" one to come out.

As 4K seems to be the thing.... I own a 4K TV that is big enough that I can see the difference. I purchased it so I could use it partially as a computer monitor. The only 4K content that is out requires a special DVD player ($300+) and special DVDs. I'm actually trying to move away from the DVD format and go fully digital (partially why I have a computer hooked to it), so no need for DVDs for me. That leaves the "up-scaling" that the TV does. I'm not sure if I like the look of the up-scaled shows. It looks like you can see the set. Everything in the background of the character appears fake. I'm sure that the quality of the cameras and how they filmed it has something to do with that, and eventually it will catch up. If you still use DVDs and are NOT going to use it as a computer monitor, a 4K TV is not necessary. Save yourself some money and pick up a 1080p TV instead.
