    Harbor Freight

Not sure if this is their "Actual" items, but I found the banner rather interesting: https://www.harborfreight.com/black-friday-sale.html
  2. I'm looking for home automation deals. Maybe I can convince dw that we need to do the lights this year.
  3. Happy October! Still waiting on Ads...It wasn't that long ago that we got one at the end of August.
  4. I'm happy we are getting deep into the season. I'm surprised ads haven't leaked yet.
  5. Just got back from a conference in Colorado Springs! I took my wife and on the first day she told me that I needed to find a job up there! lol. It is a very nice area. We drove around Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, and 7 Falls. I had too much "work" to do and we didn't get to see more stuff. Wife wants to visit during the winter as a "real" vacation.
  6. The shirt looks great Brad! I can't wait to wear it this year!
  7. I'm too far away to go to Canada (in Texas). $2000 sounds awesome! I have been quoted $4500 (total) as my eyesight is rather poor and I have a slight astigmatism. I don't feel comfortable traveling to Mexico to get a price break. I'm sure their Drs are good, but... My brother got his done about 15 years ago and has never looked back. He still has great sight. My mom (73) had cataract surgery and had them fix her vision for her. She is back in glasses already, but her near and middle vision is rather poor. She can still see far, though. I think it is a better value to get when you are younger as you get more "return" for your money. There is a new form of lasik that can fix your eyes for both, but there are drawbacks, such as future touch ups are not encouraged. You can always go the "mono-eye" route, though. This is where they zap one eye for long distance and zap the other for close up. It will take some getting used to, and some have trouble adjusting. If you are interested in going that route, get contacts/glasses that provide that for you. Get used to it that way, then zap your eyes. If you can't do it, no harm done!
  8. I believe I'm going to get Lasik. I've worn contacts for about 25 years and I have been done with them for quite a while. I'll probably need reading glasses, though. For some reason, I am OK with that. I have a preliminary checkup on 9/1 and will go for screening some time in September.
  9. Happy August everyone! Posting today so I don't forget! Isn't this the time of year we start asking for the first ad?
  10. Glad you got there in time! DW wanted to go, but decided around 11 when they shut everything down. She doesn't like to wake up early lol.
  11. July Check In! I'm all for the tumblers. The hat is a good idea, but I wouldn't wear it as I hate wearing a hat. My father-in-law would love it though!
  12. Hello July! We went to Ron Coleman mines last weekend and brought back some nice quartz! I'll post pics once they get clean. We also picked up some rather poor quality quartz rocks. I'm building a flat lap and will be experimenting/practicing on them.
  13. June check in! I'm not sure where the time has gone. Bought a car we thought had about 10,000 more miles of warranty from an individual at a great price. Unfortunately, when I took it in to the dealer, they said the warranty expired from time back in April. Luckily, the car pretty much checks out. Just some little stuff I wish the previous owner took care of 2 months ago.
  14. What about sleeve stripes as a simple change for the winners?
  15. I like the alternate color. I'm not sure about an orange shirt, though. Logo is nice also. Perhaps adding "all year long" or something like that? Maybe around the gottadeal logo?
  16. Happy Cinco de Mayo eve! Time to buy beer.
  17. Out weeding the lawn and discovered a rabbit nest. I know we had lots of babies about a month ago. How often do wild rabbits reproduce? It looks like they have been digging in it again.
  18. Very cold outside (for Texas in April). I'm glad I don't live further north. There is a bird nesting in a flowery decoration my wife likes to put up after Thanksgiving. After finding 5 eggs in it, we decided to leave it up so they could hatch. DW wants to put up the other, flowery decoration she has for spring and summer. I'm trying to encourage her to put up a metal design so I don't have to worry about bird "deposits" as I walk out the front door.
  19. Not sure if I will miss TRU. They were more expensive than Amazon and usually the only reason why I went is looking for a TRU "exclusive" my dd wanted.
  20. I hate daylight savings time. I just wish we could pick 1 or the other as a whole country and stick to it. Time zones are much easier to handle. Is there truly a use for it anymore? Originally, it was to save candles and allow more light for families during winter months. When electricity became commonplace, it wiped out that benefit.
  21. Still waiting on my rebates. I had 2. One for $100 for purchasing appliances and one for $40 for purchasing a pair of monitors. Both have emailed me saying they have received my submission (mailed out in December...got confirmation about the first of February lol) and I'll eventually get them. Maybe in March or April!
  22. Still here! Tomorrow dw and I begin (again) a journey to lose weight. Last year, dw thought that joining a gym would be all we needed. This year, we joined slim 4 life. They promised if we stuck to the "plan" we could lose our weight (50lb for me) in about 3 months, then they would teach us how to keep it off. We signed up for the 2 year maintenance plan. I believe I can stick to the "plan". So, should I go on one of those "bet to lose weight" sites and place a bet?
  23. I think I posted in January. Posting again to make sure.
  24. I thought Circuit City was purchased by TigerDirect. Doesn't TigerDirect have brick and mortar stores around already? Ever since Circuit City closed, I keep forgetting about checking to see what they have to offer online!
  25. Happy New Year everyone! A few years ago, I set up dual monitors at home. I had a 22" as my main and an additional 20" as a secondary. Last month, I purchased a 23" to replace my 20" and moved my 22" into secondary. Last night, my 22" died. Because the 23" monitors were such a good deal, my son had purchased one to replace his, also. It appears I'll be "upgrading" my son's monitor. I've looked into some 4k monitors, and while Newegg does have a good deal on a 27" Spectre 4k (currently $219 with $20 off promo code), I'm considering the used market. I can pick up a 28" Samsung 4k for about $150. What are your thoughts on the used monitor market?
