  1. I walked around keeping my carts close the whole time, or at least within sight. I always do that for markdown days as I have had people trying to take my things before. And, I have, inadvertently taken from other people too. Oh, and I'd have ignored the lady trying to claim a whole aisle. You either get a cart and tote it around or give it up. That's insane. That's like what the scalper guy was trying to pull with the Walmart Disney Cars on me. Yeah, right, like I'm going to "obey" you because you claim them all. Geez. What a nut. On the other hand, I know a rather nasty woman who is like that and has been seen smashing and tearing the items someone else wanted to buy because they didn't go along with her. She's a real piece of work, and she does sell on ebay.
  2. Those will get marked down with Sporting Goods, not toys. Probably Friday is my guess.
  3. has anyone on the list been to any of these SoCal stores to check on toys? I just want to be sure, and I am on the lookout for that Vtech camera! My friend & I both want them for our kids, and they both have spring birthdays! Are the toys 75% yet? at: Alhambra Eagle Rock Glendale (if they even have any clearance) Burbank North Hollywood San Dimas LaVerne Diamond Bar (on Grand) Those are the stores that I can manage as far as driving. I need to go to Diamond Bar again either Friday or Monday, but I would like to try to look for a few specific toys there too.
  4. Sorry in advance for what I think will be a long post... Went to the 2 story Pasadena store and they had not started toy clearance. bummmer....so I go in search of my markdown team buddy to get the scoop. Well I saw a couple of her teammates that are new and they were doing market. So, I pull out my cheat sheet to see what else they mark at the same time, and I see housewares. I go and see there is only one wine cooler left and it still shows a $49.98 tag, so I memorize the DPCI and walk up to one of the new girls and rattle it off to her. The printer spits out a red sticker and she hands it to me. LOL! I have never had THAT happen before. So, I got that for 75% off! Whoopie! I finally found my buddy and she looks it up and says toys are tomorrow for Pasadena. I drop DS off at preschool and decide to check out Duarte because they often take toys 75% before Pasadena and I don't want to miss it. So I was a block away when a Hot Wheels collector friend calls me and says they are marking down the toys here! I ask if he wants me to bring him a basket from the front. He does, so we both load up. I got Mr. Magoriums Legos, Lego City Fire Boat set, a large Playmobil pirate ship, some Erector sets, a National Geographic metal detector & microscope, some Breyer ponies stuff, and a ton of games for our school fundraiser (doing a family game night basket, I guess). The employees who helped me out to the car (It was multiple baskets) told me that they had 9 pallets of clearance toys in the back, mostly big stuff that wouldn't fit on the sales floor! So, if you were looking for anything large, you might ask or keep checking back! Tomorrow will be the Pasadena, Burbank & San Dimas stores - I called around and asked.
  5. no markdown at the Madre store, and the other Pasadena store says they haven't, but I'll check this morning.
  6. where are you located? Just curious since we are all trying to figure this out, and I am sure there is someone else in your area who would LOVE to know. Seems like we are always meeting our neighbors on here! Keeping my fingers crossed. For those in my area, I am not expecting our markdowns till tomorrow, but if anyone finds different, PLEASE post it! I'll be out trolling as soon as I get DS to school.
  7. Ugh! this summer, to my horror, the markdown team at my closest store started late in the afternoon. I went back because they told that was the plan. But they weren't able to finish!!! So they only marked about 1/3 of the toys, then they had to leave because it was the end of their shift!!! I got what I wanted that was marked and paid. I then went back in, loaded a cart with the items they hadn't yet marked that I wanted, pushed it to sporting goods and piled some sporting goods stuff on top to look like go-backs and left. When I got there first thing next morning, everything was marked and my cart was still there.
  8. Here in Pasadena, I am expecting one store to do it and the other to do it tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed, though. Seems like we have mostly had toys go down on Thursdays lately. I'll be out cruising tomorrow! We have several stores within easy drive, and I have a 10% shopping day to use!!
  9. bummer! I don't use a Windows or Mac, so I can't print the coupon. If anyone is able to save it as a PDF, please PM me! TIA!
  10. Hmmm... I was wondering if they were doing that with some of the items in the housewares area. Those vacuum cleaners were just at 30% too, and someone said they got it 75%. I need to go check on the wine cooler I have been after! Ooh, and someone was looking for a sewing machine, those are in that area too.
  11. That's great, but so funny. My husband would have had me do it. Just a personality thing, I guess. He is a big strapping guy, but he HATES confrontation. Whenever we need something returned or have a CS problem, he asks me to handle it. He says that if he has to return something that doesn't work, he'll end up coming back with the defective item plus two more they sold him.
  12. Darned right! 1.800.440.0680 I would call and emphasize just how humiliating it was for her to call out to you in that way. Make sure you have both receipts with you when you call. Give the woman the receipt information because they can look up the transactions and 1) see you weren't lying in the first place as they were on sale at the first store; and 2) they can look up who the employee was who was so rude and humiliated you. I would demand that they speak to the employee and do some re-training.
  13. Haven't found diddly for a while. I did join the new website but something on there keeps messing my computer's media center up. I think it has something to do with the sound they have on it. It causes some interference, so I don't visit it very often.
  14. They were marking a lot of vacuum cleaners last Friday. I didn't need one, so I didn't look closely. I think it was the first markdown, though, so there are probably still plenty.
  15. If you had two kids that age around, you might feel like a 4 year old too.
  16. You know, I wonder if it is some sort of state law where you are. It is an awful policy! Here it is, though, right on their website: Target Return Policy
  17. I seem to recall that you are in an area where you thought they would give you back what you actually paid. Most places around here, they would only give you back the 90% price, not the actual price paid!
  18. End of July/first of August. This one is usually better because there is more available, I think.
  19. Those were in the sale flyer the week after Thanksgiving. They were one of the big promo items with a drawing associated with it. They went like hotcakes, and last year the ones they had were selling for outrageous prices all year on ebay. So grabbing it at 30% was the right choice! I picked one up for the mom of one of DS' classmates. She was THRILLED!
  20. does that mean that they finally brought the price down on the nuts? There has been much complaining about that!
  21. Nope, there you go. Just never had seen any laws on it. Now we all know. Of course, the same basically goes for anyone who lies about the 90% off thing, too. It certainly would fall under underringing, though the cashier wouldn't be directly involved. Still it is clearly a case of the cashier changing a price improperly, so they could probably get fired for it at a minimum.
  22. Certainly possible, but I have never seen any such code. Where was this? I'd be interested in reading the code.
  23. Yeah, those are about tag switching. that is definitely a crime.
  24. We think, with the emphasis on think, that it will be Wednesday or Thursday of this week. This is based on the last few years.
  25. Yep, that's what they have usually done. Keeping my fingers crossed!
