  1. They are PRETTY GOOD, but not very good. We often find items that don't get entered properly. And there are FREQUENTLY item not found results because they didn't enter a new item into the system properly. Our local store has been cited by the State multiple times for inaccurate pricing. And they get stung all the time on those TV undercover shows.
  2. Amen! They sometimes mis-mark their items, putting the tag on the wrong item. I have been the joyous beneficiary of those errors once or twice. But more often items simply don't get the markdown for some reason, or they have the wrong tag because they were bought at say 30% off and returned after an interim markdown or salvage.
  3. I don't think there is any state in which that would be considered shoplifting. I could be wrong, but I agree that it simply forces them to give an accurate price for the item. Price-switching, however, is considered actual shoplifting as I understand it. As you are essentially stealing the difference.
  4. That is precisely what they have done the last few years. They seem to take some areas to 50%, but not all. Just guessing it has to do with overall quantity of clearance items. Most of our stores are at 30%, but only have 2 aisles. sounds like most of those at 50% seem to have more aisles left.
  5. Which reminds me that I noticed that Butterscotch was missing from the Pasadena Madre store. Sorry.
  6. did they go 50% a week or two ago? I agree, I think it will be Wednesday/Thursday.
  7. Yeah, I double checked locally, and they ring up $13.99 at both our stores. I was all hopeful after someone posted $3.99, but no such luck!
  8. The reason I ask is that it isn't the same as switching a tag. Target's policy is to use the UPC code to look up the last price of the item. The tag thing is particularly problematic when they get returns of products that were sold to a customer at 30%, but returned after they went salvage or a lower price. The tag doesn't indicate the last sold price, but if it is on there, it is what they'll charge if it comes up not on file. That isn't fair to the customer who should have gotten it for the lower price. Their actual policy is that if they cannot find the correct price, they are supposed to give it to the price change team to find the correct price and mark it, not give it to the customer at whatever price they determine, unless it is within their $25 limit. And some store are sticklers for the price change team finding a price regardless of the cost of the item. Now if you are switching red tags to other items, that is an entirely different ball of wax. That is considered the same as shoplifting. Oh, and basically, lying and saying that an item is supposed to be Christmas merchandise when you know for a fact that they consider it a toy instead (however unreasonable that may be) is pretty much the same thing as what you are describing with the tags. I guess some people may see some moral distinction, but I am not sure I can see that. Just my $.02.
  9. Just curious where you are getting that? Do you work for them? I have never seen anything of that sort posted anywhere. It is certainly one of those things that some people will and some people won't do, but I am not aware of any sort of policy being out there.
  10. You may want to rethink the sheets. Everyone who has bought them has HATED them. They all say that they are stiff as a board.
  11. GatorPam started the original Target thread, but hasn't been heard from in months. We have asked a number of times, but no one seems to know what is up. Brad, we'd love to hear if you know.
  12. Found 5 of the Cranium Pop games today and bought 4. I gave one to a family that was trying to find a game to take home. They had looked at it but put it down. I told them the price, and they decided it would work. I gave one to a neighbor who loves games. Not sure what I'll do with the other 3, but I couldn't pass up the deal. The Vtech cameras are full price here. I was bummed. I did find those no-name kid video cameras for 50% off, though. has anyone had any experience with those? They are in the kid electronic games aisle and they also make a plain digital camera for about $20.
  13. that is about what I think the "regular" price will become. It sold for $30-something during Christmas, but they are bringing out the regular I-dogs in a "classic" version for $19.99, which is a drop from the $29.99 where they started. I expect the Amp'd version (which really has much better sound) will move into that $30 price point. My kids got an I-cy last year after much debate about which animal they wanted. It is pretty darned cute.
  14. Could be. Some stores ship their clearance out if they have overly expensive rent, for example, or just don't get much movement at higher prices on clearance. They ship it to other Target stores.
  15. Not for price adjustment, no. You have to return it and hope it is still there. they only PA for sales, not clearance.
  16. Holy cow! They are marked $13.99 at our store!
  17. what does this look like? I don't think I have seen them, but I haven't been looking.
  18. try again and look for a clueless young, male cashier. they tend to be the easiest. Just say, "Hey! that didn't ring up 90%!" and then let them decide.
  19. LOL! I have had so much stuff in my car a few times though this clearance that I had to borrow DH's car to take the kids places. It has been raining, so I don't want to unload it!
  20. They are Christmas clearance. They should scan even lower if you find them now.
  21. That reminds me, it is worth looking through the boxes if you see a flat cart sitting around with those big Overstock boxes on them. I found a BUNCH of stuff yesterday at the Duarte store. Someone started to take it out and got side-tracked maybe. But they often have Christmas stuff. And don't miss any carts of go-backs. Those often hold gems as well.
  22. they are definitely clearance at Target, and they do theirs at approximately the same time nationally, so you can bet on finding it. Can't remember if it was 30% or 50%, but they had a lot.
  23. According to the old threads, and other members, it is the 2nd week of January, so that would be the upcoming week. Look Wednesday or Thursday. It could be later, but that is when it happened the last few years.
  24. Vsmile pockets are not on sale at all. Of the smartridges, only the Noddy game is on clearance. If you mean the Leapster games, which are not compatible with the Vsmile stuff, then the only things I have seen are some of the baby games and at a single store I saw the Letter Factory game on clearance.
  25. If it had a red sticker on it, he wouldn't do it. If it was free of stickers, you probably would have had a better chance. I had this work at one store yesterday, but not another even without the stickers. It is a judgment call on the part of the cashier whether or not to override a price, and they can only do it for items less than $25, I think, without calling over a manager.
