I have been seeing Christmas clearance toys popping up here and there in stores around our area. I suspect a combination of stores finding things in the back as they clear out more stuff and rearrange for new merchandise, and that they are finding people's lost stashes as they do clearance and reset for summer! I know I found someone else's stash a couple of weeks ago, so that is my theory. I picked up a Lego Duplo Thomas the Tank Engine Spencer today for $3.74. I also saw an I Can Play Guitar in the Lake store in Pasadena (in case someone is looking). It had a $19.98 tag on it which would be the 75% price.

It wasn't the change of the game they included that caused it to be clearanced, it was that they changed the actual game system, so the old version was clearanced. They also clear out toys that are being discontinued for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it is being discontinued by the manufacturer, sometimes the store simply wants to use the shelf space for something that they think will sell better. But it is just as large as the Christmas clearance. The downside is that they don't do the big jump from 30% to 75%. They drag it out for the fully cycle of 2 weeks at each level. So, when it does go 75%, there usually isn't as much left. Still you can get some great deals!

Hmmm....A curious thing today, they were prepping all the Vday stuff for clearance at one of my stores. They had moved all the stuff that was scattered throughout the store into the mini-seasonal aisle. All the towels and throws and other random stuff. I have never seen them do it this early before! It almost makes me wonder if they do clearance early this time. It would surprise me, but with Easter so early, maybe they feel they have gotten the most out of Valentines and need to move it out? Maybe they just want to push the other Easter stuff to the floor, too. Or are hoping to get the other items to move before the clearance. I don't know...I just thought it was pretty odd.

Fortunately I got these yesterday as they seem to have caught it. The shelf tags are correct today.

our stores never allow it for seasonal merchandise, and it is the official policy not to. But some posters have reported it being common practice where they are. You know, it might be due to some state law where they are. Not sure why that didn't occur to me before. There are some of those rules that simply don't apply to various states. Like here in CA, you aren't allowed to have a gift card "expire." They are valid forever, as long as the business is still in business. In fact, my friend in Canada got an Amazon gift certificate and it "expired," so she had her husband, who works here in Pasadena two weeks every month order something using it here, so they had to honor it. Anyway...I digress. I think the ones who report it being common are in Missouri if I remember right. Don't miss out on the great cooking stuff when it goes clearance! I got some of those heart shaped cake pans last year for 90% off! I was thrilled. I just got lucky and found a BUNCH of stuff in a go-backs cart after it went down. I felt like I hit the lottery that day. I got a couple of those cookie sheet liners and some bowls and stuff. I was able to make a heart-shaped bday cake for my friend and just leave it in the pan when I took it to our little party. I gave her the pan as well. So when my birthday rolled around, I got a heart shaped cake too.

I hadn't noticed. I am not as fond of a lot of the GB stuff personally. I occasionally like a few pieces, but maybe because we have Cost Plus as well as a LOAD of Asian furnitures stores in our area, I just don't get excited about it. I am hoping that they compress the VDay clearance this year since they need to push Easter to the floor. Sure would be nice. I need some goodie bag goodies for DS birthday party. He is 5 this year, so he gets to have a big party. Gotta pay a big chunk for the party place rental (indoor playground since he REALLY wants a bouncer) so I need to save on everything else!!!

That's what I was referring to. It was supposed to be this big event, launching all these new exclusive Walmart items, and it was a total waste of time. Fortunately, I had read on the LPS Collectors site, that I mentioned above, that it was bad so we weren't disappointed. Ours didn't have the exclusive tubes or the bedding. It was truly sad. Just a couple of demonstrators hired to hand out some lame posters & stuff. Not worth the trip. I read a poor little girl got her parents to drive her 45 miles to go to it and it was SO disappointing. Sad....

You won't. they are exclusive to Walmart as far as I am aware.

If only they did their toy markdowns like Target....Oh well. They were supposed to have a big event with LPS this weekend, but it was a total bust. What a complete joke! You are lucky you didn't go for that. They also have some Valentines Tubes that are supposedly "exclusive" to them, but they are coming available later at other retailers. If you are REALLY into LPS, or just want to find out what is coming up, I can recommend this collector's site. Just a group of people who are really into collecting the stuff. Interesting...that makes Global Bazaar 30% off about 1 week earlier than last year. Maybe because of the early Easter? May be throwing schedules off a bit. Maybe because of poor sales.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll tell my Mom. She shops in Danville all the time, but sometimes goes on over to Champaign. She went to grad school there about 15 years ago too.

I'd try a different store with the Shutterfly. If you don't have a different store, then call the 800 number. If they still won't take care of it, I would contact the State Attorney General (they almost all have websites with easy online forms to do this), as it is against the law for them to fail to honor their stated policy, and even though it won't help you specifically, they need to be alerted. When AG's get enough complaints about particular retailers, they often will investigate and go after the store if they find a pattern of abuse. Target has gotten in trouble about price scanner stuff more than once in more than one state. It is embarrassing, and the same would be true of the returns thing. I would also report the whole scenario to the 800 number. Make sure you have your receipt when you call. They need to know that this sort of thing is happening in that store. It is good that the manager did the right thing, but sometimes it will still not be dealt with properly without contacting someone at a higher level.

I have to agree. I am lucky, having several stores near me, but I didn't get the deals until I started tracking their schedule. Once you have a handle on that, it helps tremendously. When you can be there when they do the markdowns, especially, that is the BEST thing! Nothing quite like it! Better than,....uhh....chocolate! Yeah, better than chocolate!

I had the same experience yesterday, but then found them today on the endcap toward the main aisle with the ones from the ad promo. Ours are still $34.98 unfortunately. I had thought to get one for my business, but decided I'd wait. Especially since I am not sure about it. Oh, and the ones on sale were the ones that were NOT red. Blue & grey were on sale.

you left out that it does not include the orange juice. I've only ever found apple, grape and fruit punch. the packages look exactly like the 15s except they don't say 15 on the front. They are often behind the 15s on the shelf, so it is worth digging. Some people have gone several months without finding any. Some have never found them. And some, like me, find them 2-3 times per month. I find them more often than I can possibly use them, so I tend to give them to a couple of cashiers with kids when they are on duty.

Just a warning. I checked, and it shows available at our store too, but ours is NOT on clearance. A real bummer!

I use them off and on, but generally I try to keep the date close to current. From what I have been told, they still get paid for those that are within about 60 days of current. I almost only ever use them when I have a stack of other coupons, and they are mixed in, and like these guys say, with particular types of cashiers. If there isn't a younger cashier, I generally chat with the cashier, and they often just keep going without looking.

I got the Lavendar scented Downy for 50% off - $3.48. This was the type in the standard bottles, not the funny shaped one that they had in 2 packs with the bulk stuff. The standard type bottle has more loads in it than the other one.

thanks! We go there at least a couple of times a month anyway! Such a great place to take kids since they sell you just rice or just rice and beans for $.55 or $1.10!
