Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008
lovetoshopCA replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Wow! I thought they had already fixed that everywhere. I reported it last week, and by the time I went from one store to the next they had fixed it everywhere! I was SO bummed because they would only allow me to buy 1 at that price. They are required to sell you 1 at the posted price because of the state Weights & Measures laws (the ones that require accurate scanner pricing, etc.). Most of the time I can clean them out of whatever the item is at that price, but a few of the managers are getting strict about the legal requirements and only letting me get one. It happened at TRU recently too when I found a toy that was marked wrong. I wanted to get 3 for gifts, but they only let me get 1 at the mismark price. -
Mervyn's closing all remaining stores!!

Not much chance. They probably will be liquidated by then or shortly after. When KB Toys was closing stores during the BF season, none of the BF deals available at other stores were available at the stores going out of business. It is usually fully controlled by the courts, so they have to get the most they reasonably can for what remains. -

Weird...I found them about 6 weeks ago, and they were 12 packs. They were the same ones that had the Chuck E Cheese coupons on them. -

Nope, they are special 12 packs where they add a couple extras. At least the ones I got were. -

Got this Playmobil Nativity set for $4.24. Mismarked on the shelf tag, though it rang up correctly. They had to honor it. However, I noticed at other stores it was already fixed. Still worth a quick look if you are interested. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61iQ%2BgKLF1L._SS260_.jpg ###204070096 Playmobil Nativity 4.24 was 16.99 -

If anyone is in the Pasadena area and looking for one of the camp rock electric guitars, there was one on the electronics endcap of the Lake store (2 story). -

Still, much to my shock, 2 of the Camp Rock acoustic guitars for 75% off sitting on an endcap in the electronics department of the Glendale Galleria store here in SoCal! I bought the 3rd for a friend today. Found the Panasonic 6MPdigital camera for 50% off $44 today in Eagle Rock. Bought it and used the receipt I've been toting around for when I bought it at 30% to return it at the Glendale store. So, if you are looking for one in this area, check it out. -

Okay, I can go with that excuse, too. I sit all day in front of a computer screen. I even have Wii fit, but it doesn't seem to help when it just sits there... -

Hah! No one really wants to buy dolls that are realistic in terms of bodies these days. 40% would need to be overweight or obese. I look around our elementary school, and my skinny boys are really the exception (wish mommy could say the same for herself ). Heck we started piano lessons at the Boys & Girls Club today, and I looked around at all the kids eating their flaming hot cheetos, and I guess I know why.... Did anyone see the Panasonic cameras go down today? Not sure if I should go trolling at some other stores, or if they are all just gone and I should be glad to have gotten it at 30%. -

Except, of course, for the fact that they are nasty little prosti-tots. ;) So glad I have boys! -

Unlikely. It seems to be full price most places. More likely it isn't a good seller for Target or they have something else they want to put in it's place given the economic turn down. Target's clearance is generally unrelated to Hasbro or other manufacturers unless an item is being fully discontinued. It is still readily available most places, so I seriously doubt that is the case. I have seen similar scenarios at Target more than once. I always find it a bit odd, but a friend of mine used to be a clothing buyer for Macy's, and she says it is cheaper to take the upfront loss than to allow the merchandise to take up precious space on the retail floor if it isn't selling. -

Make sure it is clearanced at your store before you return it! Sometimes they mark these kinds of things down at smaller stores before Christmas if they aren't selling well. That way they can make space for other items they expect to sell better. -

They do occasionally mark down some stuff this way from time to time. I have most often run across odd markdown percentages in the electronics department and jewelry. Usually higher value items. Odd that they did it in paper plates. -

FYI to anyone looking for the Camp Rock Acoustic guitars in the San Gabriel Valley area. The Glendale Galleria store had 3-4 left this afternoon. On an endcap in Sporting Goods. -

Bought one 2 years ago. Loved it, but it konked out after about 9 months. Bought another one this past year in the spring but just hooked it up after we moved in the summer. So far so good. Love it, but would not spend more than necessary on them. -

We have our screen saver set to scroll through all our pictures from a file. It makes for a lovely large screen "Digital Frame", and if your computer is set in a spot where it makes sense, you could do it with the kids pics and rotate through them deleting once in awhile. We are setting up a computer for the kids in the living room, and I think that's what we'll do when DS gets his new camera for Christmas. -

Just pull up last year's October thread and search there. that's the easiest way to figure out the markdown dates. FYI, though, TRU has a LOT of costumes 35% off right now. -

saw Camp Rock acoustic & electric guitar sets 50% off today. Also saw an electric drum set 75% off. Someone on here wanted one of those last year. Not sure if they are still around, but it was the one that sets up like a regular set to play. -

that's good! close thing, so make sure he checks it out thoroughly! Speaking of the stationery items, there are a LOT of Post It notes from BTS mixed into the regular ones in stationery at several stores, so you might want to check if you need them. Pretty much the ones with some sort of Bonus mentioned on the pack are BTS, and there is a particular color scheme, so if some look out of place with the other colors, it is worth a scan. Our 2nd grader's teacher uses them by the ton, so I bought her a bunch of them. -

If they are Christmas gifts, holding onto the receipt won't help as it is past the 90 day point....Hope they work out for you! We got another kid camera last year for our son for his birthday in April, and we are already having to replace it because it was no good. It was the Nat'l Geographic one. He was SO disappointed and frustrated! -

I wondered if maybe it was a battery issue. I know my camera does not work very well if I use cheap batteries instead of rechargeable ones. The battery issue was part of the problem. The other problem was that the photos themselves were very poor quality. Washed out and blurry was used more than once in the parent reviews I read. Also the slow load time for pictures, very slow between pictures, etc. I only saw as single positive review. So, just be aware of the possibility that it might be junk. We just decided to buy the regular polaroid camera on clearance for our 7 year old for Christmas. Don't know a thing about the video camera. -

Might be a new thing they are doing. We had one open about 4 years ago, and nothing. Then one opened last year, and they didn't have anything special for that either. I was SO bummed!!

Been to 2 openings, and neither one offered ANY special deals. It was REALLY disappointing.
