  1. Yeah, I agree, but I think you basically need to go onto the attorney general's website, or do some google research for your own state to know. California allows them to do it. I think it is either MO or OH that consistently report otherwise, but some fellow gottadealers would have to chime in for us to know. Maybe we could compile a list and append it to post 1.
  2. Yep, it is just part of the return policy for holiday items. However, a few states seem to have laws preventing it, so you should check ahead of time. A few people have reported being able to return at the purchase price regardless. You just have to know beforehand.
  3. They never actually know anything in the store. Many of us have been told similar things only to find it was completely false, so be sure to check back. And don't trust calling. They will just look at the signs or flat out lie to you. You have to go in and scan a few things if the signs aren't changed.
  4. I'd guess Monday while they hope to get as much sold at 50% over the weekend as possible. Our dollar spot was only 30% too! Not a good development!
  5. be sure you are getting unlimited free prints. they changed this year and were charging something like $10 every time you print it. So if you want to review it or something, that makes a problem. We are switching because we file multiple returns for our businesses and they wanted to keep charging each time. what joke!
  6. I'd be sure to check back if you can. Last year I was able to get more about 2-3 days after Christmas as they brought out a whole flatbed cart of cases of papertowel.
  7. They NEVER clearance the storage containers until a couple of weeks after Christmas. It is only Halloween that they do immediately. They always wait on the storage containers because people don't need them till after Christmas when they start putting stuff away. We complain every year about the Snap Ware and stuff like that because it is never on sale with the rest. I mentioned in the first post that a lot of the home stuff wasn't more than 30% off. It seemed like it was 50% here, but they probably are doing it with a lower percentage based on what is left where. The Christmas extension cords were clearanced, but it is possible that they had others mixed in. There are a lot of seasonal people still working, and they tend to get stuck doing the overnight on Christmas night, so they inevitably make a lot of mistakes. If you were shopping much the week before Christmas, particularly in toys, you would have found stuff like that all over the place. In fact, it worked in my favor. I got a pair of the Eyeclops Night Vision Goggles for $14.99 because someone had mistakenly stocked several pairs in a spot for some other toy with a similar name that was part of the Spy Gear stuff, and they had to honor the shelf price for 1 pair. DS age 5 was thrilled!
  8. Got lots of the mini Lego sets, mini Disney Cars sets and Mini Whinnies. Those last rang up full price, but the shelf tag was still in the Christmas section, so they marked it down. A few Christmas decorations that I didn't want to chance missing entirely, so I am pleased. Stashed a few things in hopes of 90%, but won't sweat it if I don't get them. I was at 5 different Targets today, and the toy clearance is all over the map. Some had toys at 50% already that were still full price at other stores. All these stores were about the same size and are generally on about the same markdown schedule, so it will be interesting. I am hoping for lots of stuff to still be the in back, and plan to take my kiddos out tomorrow to see what we can find.
  9. When I walked into my first store at opening this morning, 3 overnight workers were hauling overflowing carts (one had 2 carts) full of nothing but this stuff. I was a bit miffed thinking I was SOL, but there was still plenty downstairs when I got to that department.
  10. Those rang up $6.99 here, and they would not budge on the price for the trash bags. I did get a TON of dishwasher tabs 50% off though!
  11. Target's clearance flyer online indicates that some of the dishes and Home stuff are only 30% tomorrow, so be aware!
  12. Thanks for everything, Brad! Merry Christmas! You have really MADE a lot of people's Christmases because of this site!
  13. 2nd store wasn't marked down yet, so YMMV. But, if you want them, they'll definitely be going down after Christmas.
  14. More toys marked clearance, and a lot more already at 50%. Found LPS VIP Friends for $5.98 (started at $24.99 then marked to half that as a regular price, now 50% off the 2nd regular price). Also found the original series of UB Funkeys figures 50% off.
  15. I'd just start a new thread for the quarter and have Xmas at the front. I hate having to move between threads.
  16. Ah! That is different, then. probably more related to resetting the department which some stores are already getting ready to do. Could be where they are going to set particular things. Could be almost anything, I suppose. Thought you meant they were the rectangular red stickers like they use for clearance.
  17. that's truly weird. was there anything on the tag at all? or just a blank tag? they don't really have any reason to do that, and others have indicated those toys are already 30% at their stores.
  18. if they have red stickers, they already are clearance.
  19. Please read the first post of the discussion to get the basics.
  20. Yes. They always start with some of the clearance toys before Christmas in hopes of moving them before they have to drop them lower. They usually stay at 30% a little longer, and they will usually end up dropping all the way to 75% a bit before the rest. Though sometimes not...That said, they are at the standard first markdown of 30%. There really were too many to list, but both of our closest stores were already starting to consolidate it in the aisles they usually use. Mostly they were girl toys, loads of Hannah Montana and baby dolls. Some Little Mommy, Play Doh, Pokemon and other stuff.
  21. Toy clearance has begun. TONS of items marked down. Way too many to list, but more girl toys than boy.
  22. Rose Petal Cottage was 30% off at our Target today.
  23. They are always $42.99 at Lego.com and shipping is $4.95 http://shop.lego.com/product/?p=9247&LangId=2057&ShipTo=US
