They often skip 50% entirely and go straight to 75%, so that may not work out. And, if they follow the last 2 years, they should go down next week. Though I did run across some Leapster LMax NASCAR games for $3.74 today! I also managed to get some of the LPS & MLP Advent calendars for $2.62. I was feeling lucky and took them to the cashier I had the most hope for. Interestingly, it was an MLP first on the pile. It was not marked with a red tag but rang for $10.68. I said, hey, aren't those 75% off like the rest of Christmas, and she agreed and marked them all 75% off that price. Yeah!

And it is certainly possible it happened at some stores, but no one actually reported it. Looks like you joined late in the year, so you would not have had a chance to report it back then.

I know a couple of people mentioned that it was 90% on Jan 1 last year, but I did not find anyone had actually reported that in the discussion from last year. The first report of it actually being 90% last year was on 1/4. Interestingly, in last year's thread, some people also reported that the year previously it had been 90% on the 1st, but someone else pointed out that according to the 2007 thread it had not gone 90% until the 3rd, at least based on what was reported here on the site.

Yeah, good chance. We all tend to get in a hurry and expect 90% too early. Well, after the LPS & MLP Advent Calendar discussion, I have to share my story from today. The other day I grabbed a few from the toys and took them to the front, but none of those young, innocent looking types were working, and I figured I wouldn't get anywhere, so left them behind. Well, when they got worked as go-backs, someone stocked them all in the Christmas section. And their old place in toys was filled in with HSM clearance toys. No tag left on the shelf. So, I picked them up today and hauled them to the front. They rang up full price, as expected, but I said, "Hey, those were all stocked in the Christmas clearance." They called the front end manager (who isn't exactly unfriendly, but isn't thrilled to give me a deal either) who called toys. The toy people were apparently clueless, so the manager said, "Go ahead. It isn't my fault they stocked them in the wrong place." :yup: So, yeah. I got them.

It has happened before, but I kinda doubt it. It think they'll wait till tomorrow.

Anyone go out and find out if Christmas is 90% yet? I am finally not boxed in by the Rose Parade this year since we finally moved about a mile off the route. We can actually get to the freeway. Yeah!

I'd say it was weird luck, as they never mark them down at Christmas clearance. There are several posts from the last couple of years of people groaning and complaining about the fact that they won't do it. And I have personally tried at 3 stores locally. 'Cause it never hurts to try....

Only if you can get them to do it manually. these clear with the toys, not Christmas.

Cascade gel packs - they are red - cinnamon scent. Electrosol packs have a red strip at the top and a penguin on them, I think. both gel & powerball packs. 25-35 in packs and $1.24 today.

There were holiday door mats! Check the regular door mats. I saw some duck ones like the Smith & Hawken ducks and a handful of others.

THat reminds me that I got Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust & cheese ball as Christmas clearance, too! Oh, and be sure to check the dish soap aisle. Found more dishwasher detergent today!

Oh, I almost forgot. For those in warmer climes, like ours, check the garden center! I also got some red geraniums 75% off ($1) and they had the large nativity sets and such. They also had a lot of patio furniture 75% off.

Also, weird. No, they were $1.24 here. I couldn't believe I actually found any, let alone 2 whole sets! Kayla always sells out, and I found 2! They were in a go-backs cart that I almost skipped!

Got 2 of the light trees 75% off this morning. Yeah! I also got a bunch of the Holiday Kelly dolls, some cars and the little boxes of Legos & K'Nex toys.

Toys do not go to 90%. Only holiday stuff. Toys should go to 75% the 8th or the 15th of January if they follow previous year's schedules. It is a bit of a guess but last year it was the 10th, so I am hoping for the 8th.

San Dimas still had a good amount last time I was there. You really ought to drive on over to the La Verne store if you are going to San Dimas. You just keep going East on the 210 and exit Fruit St. (like going to the Fairgrounds). It is down 2-3 lights from the freeway on the left. You'll see Kohls on the right and it is catty corner in the shopping center. Great store! It is only about 3 miles from San Dimas. The East Pasadena store didn't have much left yesterday, though it depends on what you need/want.

Just checked last year's thread, and it looks like most stores went 75% off on the 10th, which was a Thursday.

Again, they are just guessing, but it does seem likely. I stopped by the 2 Pasadena stores, and they were still 50%. Which SG stores are you planning to hit? The 2 Pasadena stores have some stuff left, but not tons like I am hearing from others. The stores out to the East (San Dimas & La Verne) had a LOT more left, so I will probably plan to head over that way tomorrow too.

Lots of reasons, but mostly it seems to depend on stock levels.

I had heard someone at our store say they changed that policy, but didn't ask about it. I guess it is time to do that!
