  1. most of the patio furniture & the Sunny Patch stuff was 75% off at the Pasadena Madre store today.
  2. 5depends on when they went 50%. Generally markdowns are every 2 weeks, but they have been stretching it longer sometimes lately.
  3. Yes, they do. Ours have been clearance for at least 1-2 weeks longer than the patio stuff.
  4. Yes, they do that between seasons. You'll see it anytime there is an awkward period between holidays or other "seasons" for them. Last year they kept the bulk section for the whole month of July, and didn't clearance it till toys got to 50%-75%, near the first of August. Interesting....We all thought summer clearanced early this year, but I just went through last year's June thread, and it went 90% on June 21, so I guess it just FEELS early every year....They DID mark the patio furniture a week or two earlier this year, though. That was NOT my imagination!
  5. You need to back out of the thread to Offline Hot Deals. Then click on the Search this Forum down arrow just below all the page numbers on the third blue bar from the top. Type in Perimeter and it will pull up old Target threads.
  6. Thanks for posting on the sheets. Ours haven't gone at all yet, so I'll have to watch. Food items vary extremely from store to store and area to area. They tend to clear out completely different stuff. It is based on how long it has sat on the shelf and not sold. Sometimes they are simply going to replace it with the same item, only fresher. Sometimes they are discontinuing it. Sometimes it is a packaging change. I bought a bunch of green chilies and chipotle chilies at our store for 50% off this week, but I bet a lot of stores simply don't carry them in the first place. Anyway, you really just have to look when people mention the food deals. You may or may not find anything similar. One of our stores is clearancing a ton of Latino food items, which is how I got the chilies.
  7. somebody lied to you. you have to go to guest services to do it, but they will price adjust if they put it on sale within 14 days of purchase. Maybe he was confused and thought you meant price match - as in other store's prices - which they do not do.
  8. Good till 7/31/08 Thanks!
  9. My best deal for a while. They marked down a bunch of Pokemon toys (DS7 is crazy about Pokemon!), and they had some of the large plush on a clearance end cap. The end cap had a big 50% off or more sign, but these were marked 30%. One whole shelf was of these, so they meant to put them there. I took a couple up front and told them, and had to march back with the front end manager to show him. He said, "no, no they are 30%, just these on the top shelf are 50%, see, all these on the other shelves are 30%." There were 2 shelves at 30% (one of which the sign was directly in front of), but the top and bottommost shelves were 50%, so that clinched it when I showed him the bottom. He agreed to give them to me at 50%. So the cashier couldn't figure it out with the new computer system. So, the same manager whipped out a calculator, took 50% off the 30% off price and told him that price! I had another small toy that brought the lot up to $25, so I got the extra $5 off with the coupon! Not bad. The toys were originally $21.99 and I got them for $5.19 after the coupon!!
  10. Have to agree on the wine cube!! :yuck: I called to complain and got a gift card to replace it. I have some of those wines stashed at one store, so I hope they are still there!!
  11. They get ready for back to school stuff. Which is especially funny here because school isn't out till next week... Not wild about that stuff either, but they had Speedo goggles that are Cynthia Rowley, and those are on sale too. We go through those in the summer, especially with lessons!
  12. You know, we have all been thinking that clearance is slow this year. I just pulled up last year's thread, and it must have been slow then too. There are only 4 pages so far this month, but last year there were only 6 pages of posts for the same amount of time. So, maybe it isn't as bad as we think.
  13. Dang! May have to go back and look again. I stashed a couple of things. I guess they are doing it on holiday schedule!
  14. baby stuff is usually after toys in August.
  15. It might, but they sometimes clearance things early if they aren't selling well or at least not well in a particular area.
  16. Hi all. I have been out of the regular circuit lately. Gas is eating us alive at $4.59/gallon now, so I have curtailed my shopping. But I did a full circuit at the Pasadena Madre store today, and saw a LOT of red stickers. I wasn't getting into a lot of detail since I was pretty tired (been moving one of my 2 businesses and getting ready to move houses), but there were a large number of items in the linens area and food. I saw several areas with big clearance sections. A lot of women's clothing, too. Anyway, I thought clearance was completely down, but there was more than I realized, just not what I was looking for....
  17. Only in some states, where the law permits it. Walmart does here also. Yeah, Target announced substantial losses for last quarter. On the other hand, clearance always slows down for summer. Still, it is definitely slower than last year.
  18. bunch of wines on clearance, and, ironically, they are generally good wines for summer. They have several Sauvignon Blancs & Reislings and a Malbec (lighter red wine from Argentina). All are great with food, and pair well with summer foods. So, if you are in the mood to try something new, this is a great time for it. Remember, not all Sauvignon Blancs or Reislings or any other type are the same, so if you don't like one, another might be good. Most went 30% this past week, so it might be a while before they go lower.
  19. If they are like the ones at our store (seems likely), they are the traditional tighty whities, and they have the elastic that is exposed. One of my boys is like yours, and he won't wear them.
  20. You should check the old threads from last year. I think it was August.
  21. Our stores (Pasadena, Eagle Rock, San Dimas, La Verne, etc.) sell internet returns all the time. They are supposed to be given to the Price Change team to price. On a weekday, if it is earlier than 3, I'd tote the thing around to find them and ask one of them to find a price for you. If they don't come up with one right away, they will often get it done within a day or two. It is better than having them try making you pay the internet price! What nonsense! Most of the stuff our store sells that are internet returns are baby-related, including car seats and strollers. Officially they are supposed to give things to Price Change to try to find a price on items, though. I found a cool kid's play tent last year that was an internet return, and price change was able to find a price on the spot. It mostly just matters whether it is in the system where they can access it.
  22. End of July/beginning of August. We got a bit of time yet...
  23. Target's return policy is 90 days, period. You will have to contact the manufacturer. They'll just give you the manufacturer contact info.
  24. They are melamine, not plastic, if they are the ones with the flowers and geometrics, etc. Don't use them in the microwave, but otherwise they are pretty sturdy.
