That is true if it is a great bargain. Didn't pay much attention to the item. Limited Availability is rarely really in stock. -

Call the store. First they will do a computer check to see if they think they have it. Then if they say yes, ask them to do a visual check. They'll have someone in the dept look for it. -

Nope, they'll give you the lesser amount unless you have the receipt. Always best to use 2 different cards for this kind of thing. Check the coupon that they printed out and see if it says Target coupon or Mfg Coupon. It will be on the part where the date is. -

Really depends on the store. One of my local stores gets things back out just as soon as the basket in back fills up. That seems to be the general rule. Other than that, they tend to do it overnight or first thing in the morning (stores that don't have an overnight crew start work at 4am). One local store gets all that stuff back out during the last hour before closing. So, if I am returning with the intent to re-buy, I go there just before they close and browse till they bring it out. Sometimes the employees want an item, though, so it doesn't get back out... -

So very jealous. Those Legos are not clearance at all here. Not at one of the 6 stores I hit. -

Yeah, it can be frustrating when they won't scan for you, but they actually have a certain number of items they have to scan during their shift. If they don't hit their ratios, it goes into their evaluation and can cause them problems on the job. They don't have anywhere near as much trouble with people asking them to mark stuff as when they do toys. This is from one of my friends on the mark down team. This morning the first store I was at the team had gone to "lunch" at 8 when we came in (I guess if I started work at 4am I might call it lunch too), so I went through the aisles they hadn't hit yet finding what I wanted. I found an extra of each and put it in line where one left her cart. Then when they came back I checked the items in my cart till they were all done. Like you, all but 1, so I asked her to do it for me. She said "I knew you put those things there for me to scan!" She was laughing as she said it. I told her I didn't want to be interrupting her or getting in the way. She said she appreciated my way of handling it. I had a good haul today. Wish I could have found some Legos, but I got some good ones last time.... FYI, for those buying the Vsmile games, looks like it might be discontinued. The stores with the reset have a new Vtech game system. Don't know how compatible they are. -

It is a waste of time. Most of the time you don't get a correct answer. And even if it hasn't been done the instant you call, they could start 5 minutes later and they won't tell you when you call. -

Interesting! I didn't miss anything I wanted last year, so it could be that the first wave will still be stuff I don't want, or that is still there on Friday. I'm only going for preview night till Friday late afternoon. I don't like being there for the weekend. Yes, Thursday is the day I was thinking given how crazy it has been at our stores. Hiding won't likely work for me, either, since they are rearranging the store and it could end up anywhere...I guess we'll just have to see. -

Me either, but I think we are going to see it a bit early this year. I hope not, but I have a bad feeling about it this year. With all the local stores starting their remodels, I think they will go a little earlier than usual. They are supposed to move the toy department in the 2 closest stores this coming week (according to the logistics managers there). -

I think you and I are both doomed! I'll be in San Diego and even though I know where the Targets are, I don't think I'll have time. -

It is nice to use the Target card, but they can look up your purchase with any card you use, not just theirs. That is why I alternate cards. A few years ago, there was a lot of noise about retailers banning consumers from making returns if they went over their hidden limit. Not sure if they are still doing it, but no reason to think it has stopped. There are limits to returns without receipts. Here is a link to an article about the old info: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/104239/shopper_alert_retailers_rejecting_customer.html?cat=46 -

They don't list any specific number or % of your overall purchases, but they have been known to limit people. I've run across one local store that limits you to returns of no more than $500 in a single day (which I found odd, but that's what they said). In general, if I am unsure about a purchase, I will use cash if possible, or I vary which card I use to keep my returns % lower. I do a lot of returns, and they've never stopped me or even given me much grief so long as I am organized about it. -

They were marking shoes like crazy at all the stores today. Very few toys moved. A handful dropped from 30-50%. didn't see anything go 75%. Probably going to do it next week when I am at Comic Con and can't be there. -

All our local stores are in total disarray as they do this major re-arrange. They are swapping departments around within the store. part of that is within the overall remodels to add grocery. but some stores are just getting a re-arrange. So, I sort of expect to see clearance disappear in the back a bit and then maybe reappear. It sometimes has the positive effect that things get dropped in price without being labeled, so keep an eye out for that sort of thing. -
She means the clearance sale, I believe, not just random sale prices. Target set their BTS section during the last 2 weeks, so their clearance won't start for a while. It varies by region, but generally starts the end of August and ends the end of September, depending on when your local schools start. Though last year, I seem to recall that they didn't do any BTS clearance anywhere until September.
-
Look through the old threads to find the dates, but it is usually much later than you would think. Seems like last year it was mid to late September. Many Western states don't go back to school until after Labor Day, and they just seem to leave it in stores for several weeks.

Hmmm, curious. You might try searching google with the UPC or search for the manufacturer. -

LOL! I have been in an area without a Target store for the last few days (Santa Barbara - no Targets or Walmarts in the whole county), so I can't report anything. But, I think I can explain the Bakugan thing. Somehow rather than go all the way down, they got tabbed as full price at various prices around the country even though they had gone into the clearance cycle back in the last round of markdowns. So, I've seen them at full price, $24.99 & 30% off or $17.98 here. And others have reported them stuck at $12.48. If they have re-entered the clearance cycle for summer clearance, then they would start at 30% again, so that would come off the price the system thought of as full price, or $8.74, $12.58 and $17.48, depending on where you are. So, if others check, you can confirm my theory. I'll check tomorrow when I go to the store. -

Yeah, I think that was mixing up the old Duracell with the new Energizer sale.
