Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2007

Patio still 50% off. Pooh baby clothes on hangers went to 75% today. They were marking boys when I stopped by, but I didn't see anything I cared about. Stopped by a store I don't frequent as often and saw many more toys marked down than at other stores. Very curious. -

This is so crazy, but I keep wanting to take advantage of these deals even though my son's public school provides everything! We don't even have to buy crayons for him! -

Anyone remember what goes in that section before Halloween? I can't recall at all. That might well be the next section, so it might be a few weeks yet. Seems odd that they'd keep that stuff in there that long, but it is possible. Unless they have some sort of back to school stuff that goes in there in the meantime. If they do that, then it would need to happen soon. The Halloween stuff shows up around the first of September. Generally right after Labor Day if I remember right. -

:yup: I wholeheartedly agree. I didn't calendar it, but I know that it caught be off guard last year because it seemed a bit late. I think our store was the first week of August instead of the last of July. I was getting ready to go out of town, and I was mildly panicked about missing out. I guess that's how you know you're an addict... -

Well, I can tell you from experience that it is a risk. Sometimes you just plain lose out. I personally would check both Wednesday and Thursday, and I would check in the morning and a bit later in the afternoon. If you check in the morning and they aren't done, you can always ask someone doing price changes (just listen as you walk around - or check the list on page 1 to see where they ought to be) if they have already done toys or not. They'll tell you. They may not tell you if they are going to do them, but they'll tell you when they have done it already that day. If they don't do it this week, you can bet they will next. I REALLY think they'll drop straight on down to 75%, but I have been wrong before (once, I think it was 5 years ago...just kidding). If you REALLY don't want to miss out on something you can at least TRY my trick. Last round I bought two each of the Batman Legos I wanted at 30% off. A lot to lay out, but worth it, I thought. Well, I waited until the day they marked them to 75% off and returned them at 8:30am. The particular store I chose to return them to gets their returns back on the sales floor pretty fast, so I returned an hour later (DS had a school program, so I just stopped by after), and saw that they were still in the customer service area. I went to the restroom and came out JUST as the lady was pushing the cart back to toys. I approached and said, "oh, are you putting those back on the shelf?" Yes. "Well, can I just have them? I was going to go back and look for the." No problem! Thanks, that means I don't have to put them back! A little underhanded, but they were running low at 30%, and I didn't want to miss them all. I got VERY lucky, but I have done similar things in the past from time to time with similar luck. I have also lost some of the things I wanted, so it is a judgment call. You can always try returning one set and holding the second and see if you get them at the lower price. Then return the second set. I am sure some folks on here think I am awful for doing this, but c'est la vie. -

I bake a lot too, and if they are the ones I saw, they are too big and clunky. They are red with cream interiors, and they are heavy ceramic. They are sort of oddly shaped with oversized handles. I, personally, would not want them. They would be a pain to store. But that is me. If you search on Kitchenaid Cinnamon on the Target website, then scroll down, you can see the individual pans. -

Yes, that is why they are doing the annual summer toy clearance that was mentioned recently. They do it every year in July/August. Nothing seemed to go down this week, though they may have added a few more items to the 30% off. I suspect that they may skip any additional interim markdowns and will go straight to 75% off. They did that 2 years ago. It was my first time really noticing the markdown schedule and I was in the store as they were marking toys that day. I had been watching some big Lego sets and got them all that day. It was my first big jackpot! So, definitely keep your eyes on the toys if you want to pre-buy for Christmas! -

Ours were 30% off $79, so that would be $55ish. They are in the preschool aisle across from Thomas & Dora and stuff like that. I've seen them in 4 stores. -

Just hit another 2 stores (hadn't been able to do that for several days), and they were all still at 30% all the way around on patio & kids garden. The red dot dollar spot stuff is new and there is a bunch of back to school stuff in it. Some stores had black dot at 50% others back at $1. Weird. One store had a larger number of toys marked down. Another store had more baby stuff than I have seen elsewhere marked down. Saw Graco Turbobooster seats marked 30% off. Saw a multi-piece 18v rechargeable Durabilt tool set at 30% off too. -

Still at 30% here. It was marked down with the patio stuff, so I expect it to follow that schedule. They still have a TON of stuff at all my local stores. -

They set one of our stores back to school section a week ago. They just moved all the patio stuff to the garden center. -

UGH! Was it the red & blue one or the new design? If it is the red & blue and you see them again, I would ask for a manager and get them to look it up with a PDT. Those are supposed to ring up $6.96. If they look it up using the Not On File function, they'll get the correct price of $6.96. They were clearing them out through the stores. They used to be online only. -

Had to run out for sunscreen tonight (obligatory trip to Disneyland with the in-laws, never mind the 100+ degree weather) and saw that they had pulled out all the patio furniture to the Garden Center. They are setting up the back to school section already. Hoping that means that school uniforms will be on sale next week. -

I certainly would. They have lots of Polly Pocket marked down today. LPS yum yum sets (the ones where they move to drink) and some Barbie (didn't look in detail). They do the toy clearance nation-wide because they are prepping for holiday stuff. If I were you I would also just price check a few things to see if they are done but not tagged. I have one store here locally that often doesn't seem to get the red tags on stuff. They seem to be VERY short-handed at that store. You should also keep checking back periodically because they may go straight to the lowest markdown if they don't get the intermediate ones because the new stuff is coming whether they are ready or not. -

The big summer toy clearance has officially started. They marked down far too many items for me to list! All throughout the department. Most at 30%, but several at 50% already. -

They were marking down mens tshirts to 50% off today. Not sure what else they'll be doing, but the markdown team is working today. I noticed that they were putting out a bunch more patio furniture today in the manufacturer's boxes. That has usually been the sign that they were nearing the end of what was in the back and they are making room to receive back to school stuff. All of it was still at 30% off, though. They were also putting out a bunch more of the kids bedding that is on clearance, and were moving it to the end caps so they could stock the new merchandise in those aisles. -

sorry. I saw it on an endcap, and didn't check. I can't remember which of my stores I saw it in, but if I see it again this week, I'll write down the number. -

Black & Decker 18volt Cordless drill 30% off. I think it was about $27. Dora, Cars & Hello Kitty Cloth Shower curtains are $4.98 - 75% off. -

Last year it was on the normal every 2 weeks markdown schedule, so probably 2 weeks from the 30% markdown. It was marked at the same time as the patio furniture. -

Have you guys checked out some of the deals in the bulk section that is filling in for seasonal? I just had to kill some time, so I was price comparing within the store. The Suave kids shampoos they have for $1.75 are usually $3.29 in the HBA department. And cheaper than the small regular bottles that are $2.02 in HBA. Same is true of the Suave body wash. I also got a great deal on some of the Downy Pleasures softener - $4.89 for 2 52 load bottles plus the little small one. That is the usual price for one bottle. Worth a look!
