I know, could have gotten one when I ported but went with a free Shift since I was actually breaking my ATT contract so we would have working service in the apartment....

I'm enjoying Sprint now and miss the iphone a little but really want a Samsung Galaxy II...

Before you worry about the phones, worry about the service. Do you have friends with Verizon and do they get service in your house.... If there isn't service, the best phone won't help. I am moving phones from ATT to Sprint for that reason. When we moved we were in a bad signal area and after 15 years with the same provider, got nothing but crap (they will sell us a repeater to improve service that we already are paying for....). Our realtor had Sprint and got multiple calls while he was here signing the paperwork. So now as the phones come out of contract we are moving them over.... As to phones, we have a mix of android and iphone and both are nice. Miss my iphone but not enough to buy one at present, the android was free when I ported out. DH will have to have an iphone, he doesn't handle change well....

Today woot has the thrive 16 g refurbished for $279.99 + $5 shipping. Little over your ideal price but a good buy.

I bought a refurb Thrive from Woot and I love it so far... I got a 32 g, just over 300. They have run smaller memory ones though also.

None here in Jacksonville, but they are closing the Kmart in St Augustine.... Walmart and Target are probably killing them there... Plus there is a big outlet mall on the outskirts of St Aug that has everything you can think of for a better price than Kmart would.

I'm glad Christmas is over as the boys got respectable piles of presents if not everything they wanted...But I have the blues I think as I am used to the hustle and bustle of the site and I think people are off with families, etc... Need to get back into a normal routine, that will help.

I think you must be loved by your students for the parents to want to replace items that were stolen. They probably know that you use your tablet and camera for school stuff also and want you to be able to continue your good work.

The Santa Clause

I was on the naughty list this year.... and am in the doghouse with dh. Money was tight so I only intended to do anything for the boys but stuff all our stockings.... DH said he didn't want any candy in his stocking.... on a budget it's hard to put what he did want, so I took the 1.99 lightning deal movies and put them in his stocking....He's crying foul since he didn't get me anything (he told me to stuff my own stocking so I put avon demos in it-- going to get them anyway for the biz...) and now he says I bought him Christmas gifts.... (not really, 3 cheap movies cost the same as the candy would have cost...). Can't win, we are going to do our Christmas in March when bonus comes, if the bills from the move are caught up... I need either a new laptop or a tablet. Wouldn't have been feasible before Christmas...

Cookies for ahem Santa.... and a couple of gifts to wrap and stockings...

Why not look into one of the compact dslr so that you can have the smaller size but still have the flexibility... I loved my Nikon SLR but as you say it was heavy, especially with the Nikkor lenses. I got one of the Olympus Pen Cameras and it works great but as I get more into photography again I can still add lenses. I have a small point and shoot, although I find myself going back to an older 5mp Kodak sometimes too... NOt going to blow up the pics and the lower megapixels are less shaky and more forgiving...

That's the kind of tree I want, I need a skinny tree for the apartment. Going to be looking for one after christmas for next year.
