If I want my stocking stuffed I'd better do it myself....Sad cuz there is no surprise but since I don't know if Jeff will be able to get out and shop this year.....

HOping I'll get into the Christmas spirit also. This is not like me. IT's my favorite time of year and even the boys are worn down this year. Maybe after payday next week and Wasabicon with the boys....Shouldn't even be doing that but my pass is comped as the Steampunk group is doing panels and I'm presenting one of those...

My list is very short. THe boys and Jeff-- stockings My youngest brother--probably a stocking Everyone else-- hugs We moved to a different place this year that accomodates Jeffs growing issues better so between the out of pocket expenses and prices that grow faster than my income it will be a small (again) Christmas. THe boys understand and they aren't little... but it doesn't help me get in the mood.

But I always feel sad for my friends that work in areas that can't shut down, nurses, firemen, policemen etc. My brother used to be with the sherrifs dept and he would volunteer for Christmas morning as he had friends with small children and he was single. He usually worked part of every Thanksgiving, etc also for similar reasons. Even when his seniority would have kept him from it. I worked retail and watched them take away almost all the days.... Easter the first year my store made 104.99 the whole day. Someone bought an Atari 2600 no games, nothing else. And there were 6 lookers all day. But the mall insisted we open. Now the days mean nothing to the retailers....The only shopping I will do is online should I scrounge some coin for something or a early morning run if I forgot something important like food for lunch....NOT

Gottadeal shirt and PJ bottoms as I will be working to help Brad that weekend.... Unless I cave and run over to JCPenneys for a snowglobe.... It's less than a mile from the house this year....

Stockings are usually the most exciting thing at Christmas and I'm feeling guilty. Just not into the spirit yet. Jeff has been in and of the hospital twice and a month in a nursing facility and once again I'm tapped out, emotionally and financially.... We do stockings and the bigger gifts don't come until my EIP (which is like a bonus) in March... Trying to build up enthusiasm but it's really been hard. Maybe the cold snap tonight will shock my system...

Most of my friends and I don't exchange gifts unless part of a secret santa/dirty santa exchange.... Family it varies from year to year, this year sucked for all of us so not much if anything...My kids want stockings and money or gift cards these days.

The parka is a great weight if you are in the southern states where we get the damp cold but not frigid weather. Just got mine today and since we will have cold this weekend it was a great timing, got one for my elderly mother also. Need to wrap it...
