A new tradition is a good idea, but keep the old ones as well, maybe not so much this year, my Dad passed 13 years ago in October and Christmas was his thing (and mine). He played Santa every year for schools, the mall, banks etc until he got too sick so it was hard the first year. I did Christmas at my house at that time so we had to go on, the boys were little then. After the usual morning gift frenzy, my mom, brothers and I along with hubs and his mom (his Dad had passed a few years earlier) all sat around and remembered fun times with my Dad and Curtis. We did ham sandwiches and potato salad instead of a big lunch and had a blast with the kids. Since then we have started going out for Chinese a la Christmas Story and everyone meets up and we share Christmas with one of our favoite restaurants, usually take some little goodie bags for the staff that they can share. It's amazing how crowded the restaurant is...

We love our snuggies, bought one to see if it was worth it and my youngest son fell in love with it, in fact he has it on now watching anime on TV. Then I got one from the hubs (in pink so no one will take it) and I used it all winter cuz I could sit with my laptop in my lap and still work. Going to get it out soon since I'm taking an online class so I can work and stay comfy.

Do we know if anyone has volunteered to take over this year? I have a lot going but if no one has so far, I might PM Brad and take it on. Seems sad not to continue...

I sleep and work 10 hour days, that's why I don't always find the deals first... I live vicariously through fellow gottadealers.
-
If only I could find the deals before someone else posts them on the forum....LOL

Yea, it's lonely being the only review so far.... By now someone has used it more than me, although it got a workout today at work and it was easy to use. -

Posted a review, gave it 5 stars of course. Didn't expound on a lot since it's still kind of new. Hope they use it, it looks bare with no comments... :) -
I thought it said 100 words or less. Must have thought I was in school...That's why I need a new shirt~

I'm loving it so far. Just rearranged my apps so that it's on page 1. That way I can easily access it at work since almost everything there is blocked. -

Black Friday means hanging out on Gottadeal, spending time with unseen friends as well as friends and family. It's the thrill of the hunt, the anticipation of a find. It's the joy of finding that special something for someone or a great deal on their hearts desire!!
-
What are you hoping to see on sale this Black Friday?
mgmckny replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2010
That's what I would like to find, or a sack full of humdred dollar bills. -
Cool idea. NO other suggestions at the moment but I'm stealing this!!!
-
Thanks, will get the ingredients and try this out...
-
I would like that also....

I only have around 12 that I buy gifts for, the rest are my team at work and it's usually something like a cup with candy. This year I am cross-stitching ornaments, need like 26--yikes.

Very basic according to the specs. If you are going to watch you tube or surf the web it might be okay, I would hold out for a little more power.

Except that hiding them can be a problem, there was an article that said September was the best month to get a deal on a bike. Summer's ending, kids are back in school, etc. Thinking of looking for a 26 in for my 17 year old, the one he got 2 years ago isn't holding up that well and he wants a beach cruiser, and I want him to quit stealing mine...LOL
-
I'm game, now that I can wear the t-shirts, bring it on...
-
How many years have you been Black Friday-ing it?
mgmckny replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2010
Since 1982, would go early and then open the store I managed afterwards and work all day... -
My 2 boys both want cash and I was thinking 1 present under the tree for each, have already got the one for ds 13, something he requested a while ago==portable hard drive, 500g. My brothers and I don't do much for each other although I do more for my youngest as he is Mom's caretaker and more or less self employed and not able to work steady due to her....So I usually do more for him since he doesn't have disposable income for the treats, last year he got a netbook, so far this year I have him a drive also. My niece usually gets a piece of jewelry or something of that type, she just turned 18 so not sure for this year...Planning to spend less than 800 this year as I just don't have it. Have been doing some gift cards but now need to work on the cash aspect.

See my family would totally go for cookies or a sour cream cake. Shame you've done blankets or I would suggest snuggies....LOL Digital Frames are a great idea, depends on features and size as to price, my brothers will probably get Walmart gift cards taped to a Hershey bar or something of that type. Gonna be a little tight this Christmas.
