I buy the really big chocolate bars (hershey, etc) and wrap it with the gift card on it....I've used boxed candy as well. They also make cute gift card type boxes to put things in...

I like the way your family thinks!!! Last year I gave my teens farting banks. Suspect I might get one of them back...

I would go as a reporter so I could stand at the door pretending to interview the people in line and then zoom past them to get the deals. As I go through the door I would rip off my costume revealing my gottadeal shirt for all to see.

Diabetes is about controlling carbs and sugars, not total elimination. So if she's managing her diabetes, she can have some of the "good stuff" as long as she's watching her overall intake. If I could get my hubs to do that he wouldn't need to be on so much insulin.... And cinnamon is used to help control diabetes so if you do decide to get the good stuff get her things with cinnamon. Does she like flavored coffees? The new flavored via from Starbucks are good and instant for those days when you want a cup but don't want to make a pot. If she likes tea, the Tazo Vanilla Rooibos is good, it's herbal also so no caffeine if she wants something kind of decadent in the evening...I do that with a little splenda in it for a treat at night when I want something sweet. I like the basket idea, you could stick a giftcard in it if you wanted but maybe some coffees, small goodies in individual sizes. THe idea someone had of making things for her freezer is also nice, maybe some single serving sizes of a favorite meal that she loves but doesn't make much cuz it's too much trouble for one.

I watch Christmas movies all year long, if I get really down, I pull out Christmas Vacation and if that doesn't work, I move on to A Christmas Story and so on until I get out of the funk... My kids hate it sometimes and sometimes they are on the other sofa watching with me. I don't always get into the newer made for TV movies as much but even there I have a few favorites.

Ok, This is a family recipe. This cake is hard to ruin and is wonderful as is or gussied up with icing or glaze (or toasted with butter on it....) Grandmom's SOUR CREAM CAKE ***** 6 eggs - separated 1/4 tsp baking soda 2 sticks butter - softened 1/4 tsp salt 3 cups sugar 8 oz sour cream 3 cups flour Cream butter, egg yolks, and sugar together. Add Flour, salt and soda to sugar mixture. Add sour cream and mix. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into cake. Place into a cold oven and bake at 300 degrees for an hour and a half. We have an extra large mixing bowl and I double the recipe to make 2 bundt pan cakes at a time. I've also made loaf cakes as gifts, each recipe makes 2. Oh and it freezes well. I usually start in early November and make some every weekend so that I have enough for family.

These look really cool. I might get the stuff to make a few for my mom and niece, etc. Just something for everyday type stuff. Mom is almost 79 and doesn't really want a lot anymore, we are giving her an exercise class as a Christmas present but I want something under the tree....

I got mine this afternoon too. I think I was as excited at the highlighter and pen though as the shirt. Taking a class online with a lot of reading, that highlighter will get used!!! Now I just need a shopping bag and one of the string backpacks and I will be a walking billboard.

When I was 4 or 5 I wanted glasses so bad (older brother had them). The eye doctor gave me a pair of frames..... WHen I was six, he put lenses in the frames..... Thus ended the love affair with glasses....LOL.

There is a Red Wii bundle that is releasing in early November, it comes with Super Mario and a red dsi XL that comes with Mario Karts. The pricing in the emails is 199.99 for the Wii and 179.99 for the Dsi XL. I want one just for the colors......LOL

My youngest loved legos until he turned 13. He plays the Lego Star Wars and other computer games still. He has an ipod touch, he started with a used Nano I had but since he was responsible, we gave him a touch at his 13th birthday. Personally I think the new nanos are cool and want one for Christmas to wear when I work out. I think a digital camera might be good or a Flip video camera, he can animate the Legos, there are some videos on You Tube.

1. No Rudolph, turning the carts upside down will not make people buy the shopping bags! 2. Hey man, are you sure there is a merit badge for gaming? 3. Attention shoppers, this year the tickets for laptops will be given to the last people in line.

What about printer access? http://www.easy-child-crafts.com/free-coloring-pages.html http://www.coloring.ws/coloring.html the first site also has some easy craft stuff like pumpkin masks that you make from paper plates and yarn-- need crayons and scissors, you could cut the holes if needed. THere are pages for every holiday so you could do American Thanksgiving as well as Christmas, easter etc. Just print from your browser.... :) Will still look for coloring books, etc but this might help for Halloween as well as Christmas for the younger kids

So 92 in all, gives me an idea for candy canes from your other requests.. For the little ones, do you have access to a copy machine for reasonable prices (that way you can copy pages from a coloring book and still have the book for future years...).

How many kids are we talking about. Keep meaning to ask that... Need to know for future endeavours anyway.

Sent my PayPal when I got home tonight.

Every other day? I feel guilty if I don't check in at least 4 times a day... usually more. Just cuz I'm not posting doesn't mean I'm not here...

Focus seems to be fast, zoom is smooth, haven't tried the video yet, hoping for good sound. My other Kodak has decent sound but it doesn't always pick up from enough distance... Need to get a bigger video camera but I'm lazy and won't carry it. It's more compact than it looked to me on the site, I had one of their cameras that looked like an SLR but it has wondered off and I thought that this would be big like that so I think I'm pleased. The only thing that I worry about is battery life, my old kodak has a rechargable battery pack and it lasts for a lot of pics... Gonna open the sd card and play some more...For a woman, this is small enough to put in a purse or small pouch but not so small that your hands cover the flash etc. Same for a man unless you have mitts, my dh is one of those.
