  1. Yeah, it got so bad that year that we had to go straight home after visiting my in-laws for Christmas moring/afternoon. We couldn't stop at my parents place at all. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Weather/snowflake.gif
  2. I don't know of a shipping deal, but try one of these discount codes for more money off: MVCFIFTEEN for 15% off (I don't know when it expires) NEW8840 for 10% off, expires 11/03/07
  3. That is specifically why my FIL won't use them.
  4. I'm sure they are on schedule to be released in the newspaper on Thanksgiving... But there is no schedule as to when they are released to Gottadeal.
  5. Sometimes I could do without the cashier/customer interaction. Some of our Wal-marts cashiers get up on the wrong side of the bed every morning. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Angry/sneaky1.gif
  6. The BBB will likely tell you to shop elsewhere -- it's not a matter of them cheating you or something.
  7. 26" is a great size for a master bedroom. We have a 26" Olevia widescreen LCD.
  8. If you buy a Dyson, buy an extended warranty. I've had mine out three times for service. The beater brush motor in my Animal wore out twice -- but once it just lost it's suction, they had to adjust some stuff. I bought the Animal 2 years ago. My Dyson was worthless on tile and hardwood until I bought the $39.99 (plus $6.95 ship) Hard Surface tool: http://www.dyson.com/store/parts.asp?accessory=ACC-HARDFTOOL-GEN&product=DC14-ANIMAL_US http://media.dyson.com/images/products/accessories/lrg_ACC-HARDFTOOL-GEN.jpg Otherwise, it just blows the cat hair around on a bare floor. Prior to buying that overpriced accessory, we had resorted to using a broom on our tile floor and using the Dyson's hose to suck up the pile. In 2 more years, when the warranty from BB is up, we're just going to cut our losses and buy something else. The ergonomics are all wrong unless you are 7.5' tall (I'm 6').

  10. I'd like a cure for Cancer -- seems like everyone's getting it these days... I'd also like a GPS navigation system for the car and an iPod Nano Video.
  11. Our Bed Bath and Beyond had no BF specials and but they opened an hour earlier than normal. Same for Marshals.
  12. Hey, another HoFoer! I knew I wasn't the only one! http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Yes/highfive.gif (I'm Marcster over there too). You'll be able to post links in the future, hang in there. T-Mobile has horrid service in my area -- make sure you look at the coverage map if you are considering this offer: http://www.t-mobile.com/coverage
  13. I don't know about Disney tapes, I never tried. Yes, as things stand now, you will have no signal unless you buy a TV w/a built-in digital tuner or buy a separate digital tuner (it will probably look like a cable box). The government just started running commercials about this change. http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/digitaltv.html
  14. Yes, the only time you would need to worry is if you get your signal "over-the-air" (via rabbit ears or similar).
  15. True, but that would not be a concern if the Metallion's Mom has cable or a satellite dish... Depends on how she receives her TV signal.
  16. www.tirerack.com has good prices from what I've found. You can buy them online and have them shipped to a local installer. They also have online reviews from past purchasers for the tire(s) that interest you (along the lines of Amazon and Newegg).
  17. I really think that combo DVD/VCRs on their way out... If you already have a VCR, you can just buy a DVD-recorder and copy your tapes to DVD, easy peasy. Once you've done that, you really would have no use for the VCR "side" of a DVD/VCR combo. And at the rate that VHS tapes deteriate, you should copy them to DVD sooner rather than later -- I started doing this with some of my old recordings and they look so much worse then I remember them a few years ago...

  19. Much more here: http://www.news.com/Wal-Mart-plays-Black-Friday-spoilsport/2100-1038_3-6214722.html
  20. Sounds like both of you need to contact your ISP or e-mail provider (Hotmail, Earthlink, AOL, etc.) I can attest that they are arriving properly to my Gmail account. If you don't want to hassle with it, sign up for Gmail and register that address with the GD sign-up and they'll come through appropriately.
  21. Sears & Best Buy will probably have something -- they have run appliance specials in the past, I'm sure they will this year too.
  22. Yeah, I've started to keep a .txt file on my computer for next year -- should save me some time researching.

  24. Hey, that's pretty snazzy! I don't have anything right now, but I plan to offer some stuff soon.
  25. At 50", the 1080i or 1080p will appear sharper than the 720: High-definition (HD) video generally refers to any video system of higher resolution than standard-definition (SD) video, most commonly at display resolutions of 1280x720 (720p) or 1920x1080 (1080i or 1080p). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-definition_video
