The original post got a little wacky... http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Hmmm/dontknow.gif I had to go to my offline copy (I have been writing in a word processor). All fixed now -- the Mio C320 is under the Text-To-Speech heading, just below the TTS-ready Garmins. Can't miss it. It'll be $149.99 @ RadioShack (and there's a ridiculous amount of R/S stores around, shouldn't be a problem to pick up).

On construction sites, you'll see tanker trucks that carry "Non-Potable Water" (not safe for drinking). http://www.truckfindersinc.com/WaterTrucks/2001IHC47002,000GallonWaterTruck(P2200)/2001%20IHC%204700%202000gal%20water%20truck,%20left%20front%20view%204.jpg They use water to mix up concrete on site, among other things.

http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Happy/blush.gif From what I know about you -- being the techy and all... I think you'd miss being able to hack a Mio. I'm surprised that you aren't thinking of the Mio C320 though. I'm thinking of getting the TomTom One 3rd Edition for my wife and for parents. And, since it's only $80 (or so) getting a C220 for myself. I wasn't planning on getting a GPS for myself at all... I just don't drive that much. Whenever we go out, my wife is usually with me. But hacking one, that would be fun.

Hi Sheila -- all of the widescreens GPS units being offered on BF are 4.3", including the Garmin 660. The HP iPaq may appear "sharper" because it has a better screen (more pixels), but that's about it, the screen will still be the same physical size. The other thing to remember is that you don't have to update the maps... If you live and travel in an area with establshed roads, you may not need to update them once every 2 years or so vs. whenever Garmin comes out with a new edition. But free is nice (with the TomTom units).

Thanks for the compliments everyone! http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Please%20TY/mwel3.gif If you choose something based on my thread, PLEASE post about it here (like mrn8 did). http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Non-Smiling/ear1.gif I'm curious to hear what you chose and why. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Non-Smiling/ear1.gif Also, I just moved the Delphi Nav200 under the "Second Tier" units spoiler. I think that the Nav200 is a fine unit, but there are better, more modern choices for the same or less money. The Nav200 was probably all the rage when it first came out, but it's a little long-in-the-tooth by today's standards.

Your welcome! I think I'm done, barring some unreleased ad coming to light prior to BF. If any of my information is incorrect, someone please don't hesitate to tell me... I was careful, but I've been wrong before, and I can't vouch 100% for the reviews I was reading... Remember what you paid for my advice if you have any complaints. Maybe later I'll come up with a "Marcster's Short List" (what I would choose for different price points). The only problem with that is that what I would choose may not be at a store you are going to.

SORRY--- The TomTom units have voice prompts... (Turn right in 500 ft.) Some reviews were misleading or confusing. I repeat: ALL of the units being offered at BF pricing have either voice prompts or text to speech. I have arranged *ALL* of the units in my original posts and added extended details for all of them (go here: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=87388). Pardon me while my head explodes. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Sad%20Upset/scream.gif

Your welcome.... It is a lot of work. I don't want to think about how many hours I've been putting into this. I just gave both Mios and the Navigon the "more intensive" treatment. Go back here for the latest "edition". I am still totally on the fence about recommending the Navigon. I can't find a single review of someone who owns a 2100. The reviews on the 5100 and 7100 are not the greatest though. Apparently the Navigon doesn't always find the most direct route and can take 2-7 minutes for a satellite lock. With that kind of wait, you almost need to start it up inside your house while you are getting read to leave... From what I've read, the Mios are really cool. They have a lot of features not found on other units in the same price point. The C320 has a widescreen and text-to-speech (over the c220). It is $50 more, but if that isn't a problem then go for the C320 > C220. The only drawbacks to the Mios is apparently they aren't as easy to use as some of the other units (but are fine once you get the hang of things), they also can find POI near where you are, but not along your route, for instance your route to Grandma's might be diverted 3 miles out of your way to go visit that post office right near your house, but you might be passing one on your way to Grandma's (does that make sense?, if so, good -- that's what I'm getting from some of these reviews). Even if you DON'T plann on modding your Mio, the strong support group http://hugginsnet.com/ilovemymio should be able to help you if you can't figure something out... If you do want to mod your Mio, then by all means... That is THE one to get. Look at some of the map skins people are doing: http://gpstrooper.googlepages.com/miomapskins, and that just scratches the surface.

No, just a couple more days... Read the original post again: "once you have made 50 posts and have been a member for at least two weeks"

If you belong to a price club (Sam's Club, BJs, or Costco) they tend to have the best prices on good, name-brand tires. Heck, you don't even have to belong. I go in with my FIL to get tires for their Subaru, so you just have to know someone who is a member and willing to go into the store with you.

Already being discussed here: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=88411 Closing thread. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Threads/sign0074.gif

Now wouldn't that be something! For a store to RAISE prices on a BF ad and people get so caught up in the moment that they think they're getting a deal. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/NO/nono.gif
-
I am guessing just the multi-day deals, not things that are "Thursday" or "Friday" only?

I don't think we ever listed the Ritz ad, ever. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Goodnight/bored1.gif

I just added the units from Office Depot, CompUSA, and the other ones from Staples (beyond the first page). Can I just say that when I started this project, I thought there would only be a dozen or so to keep track of... http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Hmmm/hypnotised.gif I also moved "second-tier" units and the lone handheld unit under their own spoiler tag... Trying to clean things up a bit. I still have to find reviews for some of the new units. I'll also trying to figure out the pros/cons and mute vs. audible alerts vs. text-to-speech of each unit... http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Hmmm/hypnotised.gifhttp://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Hmmm/hypnotised.gif
