Yes, it was way before the GPS Lodge review. I'll have to reassess and revise. The GPS Lodge article only came out on 10/17. I'm still a little bummed about the tiny area for inputing destinations on the Navigon, the apparent slowness to respond, and it's inability to import lists of additional POIs from places like POI-factory.com.

Refurb Apple products come in plain brown boxes and are only warranted for 90 days (vs. 1 year for new Apple stuff).

Just remember that the previous generation of Nanos are a different shape and don't play videos.

Best Buy Black Friday Ticket System, FAQ and Sample Ticket
Marcster replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2007
Yes, if all you are after is a GPS unit, I STRONGLY recommend going to a "secondary BF store" such as RadioShack, OfficeMax, Office Depot, or Staples. I wouldn't go to Best Buy and Circuit City unless I was dropping $2,000+ and saving a ton of money. To save $100 on a GPS is not worth camping out for 20 hours (to me at least). There are plenty of secondary stores offering GPS units at similar savings to that TomTom that BB will have: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=87388 -
Best Buy's sale, right now through Wednesday. Retail price @ $199.99, but they'll give you a $20 iTunes gift card on the spot. Apple products typically sell at retail, so that is a good deal. Price Clubs like Sam's have it for $187.99, but no iTunes gift card...

That certainly would be typical of an Apple "sale". "If you want to buy an Apple product, we'll be here to sell it to you."

You might want to post that question over here: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=81806

Sheesh, that's only 3700 miles per year. Congrats!

Spec wise, the $399 laptop will run rings around this $229 laptop. If your budget allows, you will be much happier with the $399 laptop.

Best Buy Black Friday Ticket System, FAQ and Sample Ticket
Marcster replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2007
You need to pick up your ticketed item(s) by 9 am or they may sell them to someone else. Some GottaDealers have been posting about picking up tickets at 3 am and then going off to shop in three more stores and swinging back to BB by 10 am. Those people are going to be disappointed... -
Apple doesn't discount, period. The only deals you are going to find is used, refurbs, and any retailer that bundles something in to a laptop sold at MSRP (such as a free iPod). A possible saving grace might be if you qualify for a college student discount.

They're just taking notes from most eBay seller's playbooks. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Mil-Laughter/laugh2.gif

Yep, a ticket is not a guarantee or a contract. You roll the dice and you take your chances. -
If you want to complain, please do it in the official thread: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=87281 Closing this one.

But on Black Friday they'll have it for less. :)

It's not a "false" ad -- they run slightly different specials in different parts of the country. Wal-Mart had a laptop deal for BF 2005 that varied by $200!

Yeah, it takes 2 - 2.5 hours to check out of our BB on BF. BB may be your only stop, especially if you are not at the very front of the line. Make it count. -
