Could deal with a 32" but hubby would rather have a bigger tv. Yes BB has the Dynex 40" in. for 499.99, but dont know much about this "BB" brand. Any help is appreciated, Thank You in advance!!! I am looking for the same. I want a 37-42 inch LCD for around $500 Walmart right now has a Vizio 37" Class Eco 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV, VO370M I am thinking about getting it. I'm looking to buy a 21-23" LCD HDTV for my room, and i'm wondering how good all these new brands i've seen are, and i'm hoping to find one for $199, am I crazy? BB and others (TigerDirect) have the same models at the same prices, but Walmart's extended warranty (which you should always get for an HDTV) is about 75% LESS than that charged by BB, hhgregg, TigerDirect, Sears, etc. Most of the retailers try to use the Warranties to generated mucho profit. BB and Sears will charge you about $175-200 for extended warranty (highly recommended with HDTV). Walmart about $30. I have been trying to find out more details of the Walmart Saturday only (what time?), but no luck yet. I know Sears has a disclaimer that indicates only about 3 in-stock at each store, not sure about BB. HELP PLEASE!!I would not recommend any "i" type HDTV. the i stands for integrated, where as the "720p" and "1080p" stand for progressive, which means your picture is going to be a much better quality with a 720p/1080p. Reason I was looking was that I have already bought a pair of VO320Es ($325 at Sears after Discover cash back) and wanted to make sure I didn't make a mistake. I didn't. In fact, I thought all of the 32" sets at Walmart looked pretty great -- even the Element tv. The Emerson that will be offered on BF was not on display. I also bought a couple DYNEX DX-32L130A10 sets. Dynex is Best Buy brand supposed made by LG. This is one of three 32" Dynex sets, but is brighter and a little bigger than the other two. These are highly regarded by six people, but I could find no expert reviews. If they look good, this is a steal. The sets are $300. Using ShopDiscover, I get 12% back, so the final price will be $264. I will also get $3 back in Best Buy rewards. You can get a four year warranty for $50, so, if the sets are comparable, I can get the Dynex with four years protection for less than the cost of the Vizio. I'll get close to the Dynex Monday when I pick mine up and let you know what I think of the set. I've had a 26" Dynex set for a year and we have been very happy with that. I guess it is this one, but I did not see any in the store. Emerson's product page is here. They do not advertise brightness or contrast -- which may mean they are not proud of the numbers. 5w/channel is not very powerful for the speakers. The warranty is 90days/1 yr, so that might be a concern/warning. On the other hand, this review is pretty positive. There's no vga in if that matters to you. Is it fair to assume they are all 60Hz? Does anyone have any opinions on these TVs? About HDMI. Is this how you connect you DVD/Blue ray to the TV? Is there something special that makes one higher quality than another? I have read that it is cheaper to order them online, so I'd like to start looking for a deal now, before we get the TV set up. You could buy it ahead of time if you want so that it's ready to hook up when you get the tv. Monoprice.com is a good place to get them online. They are way more when you buy them in store. I'd be in HEAVEN!!If you do the research you'll be happier with the G10/15 over the S1. But you won't find these at Walmart since they only carry the cheap models. I spent 2 months researching HDTVs and ended up going with the Panasonic 54G10. Originally was looking at the 50" but last Sunday Sears had their Friends & Family sale and the 54" was priced at $1260 so I grabbed it. The retail stores aren't focusing on the medium-high quality TVs for BF so don't expect a good deal on a G10 by then. But pay attention to the online sites such as Amazon and Newegg. At Amazon you can get the 50G10 for $1250 and neither of these sites have released their BF deals yet. And if you're in the market for a HDTV this year, the best place to get information/advice is the AVS Forum. The folks there REALLY know their stuff. If you want a HDTV you need to decide if you want LCD, plasma, or LED and also why. LEDs are new on the market so they're going to be priced MUCH higher than their LCD/plasma counterparts. And let's face it, if you're going to invest in a plasma then you really only go with Panasonic or Samsung (now that Pioneer is out of the market). Other manufacturers can't compete in terms of build quality and features. All of the Samsungs listed above are their low-end models or the 720 resolution which reinforces the belief that the BF push this year is for the stores to dump these models to make room for the newer ones. Also keep in mind that Samsung is discontinuing many of their models, partly due to marketing reasons and others for fixing defects. The Panasonic 54G10 at Sears for $1500 isn't a good deal. I bought mine a week ago for $1260 (but the G10 is a great model). If you're in the market for a HDTV and are new to buying them then definitely check out the AVS Plasma and LCD forums.
