maritza68 Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 If someone was to buy one which one would you prefer and why? 30GB Zune or IPOD. I'm new to this toy but I want mainly for my photos...not so much for the downloading music. Thanks
civicracinggirl7 Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 iPod. It's established, and Apple is more reliable than Microsoft. I'd do a Google search on the Zune, because I'm sure I heard recently about some problem with it.
Mikser Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 I bought the 30gb ipod and I am very happy with it.
guilliam Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 We own 3 of the 30gb ipod videos and love them!!
davenet Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 iPod all the way. Lots of accessories, easy to use software, established in the market and all the bugs were worked out long ago. Easy to use. What else? Just do it. David
bpr Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Who REALLY knows? You need both (or access to,) to make a fair judgement. I have neither, but maybe one day.
kbasketcr8r Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Well, I guess I will soon find out. My son has an old ipod, I bought him a Zune (got selected for the 90.00 deal). I will let everyone know what he thinks.
mudechevy Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I struggled with this and the Best Buy guy recommended the Zune. You can delete or add 1 item at a time instead of having to re load your whole list. You can also share items with friends that have Zunes. I purchased this for my teen daughter. They have Nanos now. We'll see!
KiriJoan Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Zune. The people who say iPod are people who have an iPod and have never given the Zune a chance. And by chance, I mean more then 10 seconds of play. The Zune uses a different interface, so people who are used to iPods think it's clunky and hard to deal with. Once you get used to it, you realize it's a much better system than the iPod. If you've never used the iPod, you won't have anything to worry about anyways. I've had both, the Zune is better and the screen is larger for picture viewing anyways.
maritza68 Posted December 18, 2006 Author Posted December 18, 2006 Thanks for all the feedbacks. I really appreciate it. I've never used an iPod so I do not know what to expect (or not). It's ashame that Zune released their products so late in the game. Keep them coming. Take care Hugs
purplepenguin Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 buy a creative zen visions 30G on sale for $199 at Circuit City!
Madettica Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 my vote is for creative too! I have both a 30 zune and an ipod shuffle and a 20 creative touch zen MUCH prefer my creative zen!
Guest spectraflamed Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 If just for video I would consider going with the largest capacity possible so I think the 80 GB? Ipod might be best for your needs. If for music I have to wonder since it seems like both Ipod and Zune are limited on what they can play or how many times they can play them (ie. downloads from walmart will not work on either) I believe Creative does not have these issues.

Really? 30G is plenty. Kristy
rmejico Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Creative Zen Vision:M easily. It has the best looking screen and plays the most media with no proprietary software. Also, it is normally the lowest price out of the three. With the Zune and Ipod, you are paying for the name.
Ms_Denise Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Who has 80G of music? Really? 30G is plenty. KristyI do:cheesy:

We'll see!Hmm, my wife has an older 10 gig IPOD and I add and delete songs 1 at a time all the time. I use realaudio as the docking program though and have done some re-configuring on it. The only thing that would be an issue to me is battery life. This old IPOD is horrible. It lasts maybe about 4 hours at best before needing a recharge. The battery needs changing I guess, but I figure how long before the battery went with a new one? So if the ZUNE's battery holds up better, I'd probably go with that.
Guest spectraflamed Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Who has 80G of music? Really? 30G is plenty. KristyThe original post said it would be mainly used for photos not music thus 80 GB might be the best choice.
mackeeg Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 I bought my DD the 4GB blue nano cause that is the one she wanted, I wish I would have overrode her and bought the 30GB Ipod
miller24x Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 By the way -- to whomever made the comment about sharing songs with friends with the Zune.. When you share a song, it's only good for 3 plays. Then it's done. I've purchased 4 ipods. The Zune was waaaay too bulky and I don't like the navigation of the Zen.
