  1. I ended up going to 2 stores today and they had different items that where 75% off. The first one only had the holiday 3-in-1 type soaps for 75% off. They also had a few select fragrances as well (just as Coconut Lime and Lemon Seagrass). They also had ALL of the scents of body cream, I guess now that they have the new body cream they where clearancing this out. The second store I went to had lots more at 75% off. They had almost all of the travel size items at 75% off, which I thought was odd but nice. They also had several of the antibacterial soaps that where 75% off as well. So, I would suggest stopping into your store to see what they have.
  2. If you didn't already place your order, the 20% off codes and the 3 for 30 on sweaters codes both expire tonight at midnight EST.
  3. Maybe you should attach coupons or websites (like Gottadeal) to the giftcards. Try to point them in the right direction for deals. Then maybe they will be able to bargain shop for themselves and you'll have shown them a better way to spend their money.
  4. Yes, restaurant.com always has lots of sales for $2-$4 for $25. My problem is that it usually has a minimum purchase of at least $35 and they automatically add on 18%-20% gratuity for the whole bill before the discount. Which normally wouldn't be an issue, but every time I've use it it's like the waiter/waitress knows they are getting that tip no matter what, so they don't care at all. It's just annoying.
  5. Sounds cute to me. Another thing you might consider would be mini apple treats. If you take a melon baller (or anything like that) you can just little rounds out of the apples, put lollipop sticks in the little pieces and coat them as you would a normal candy/carmel apple. These are one-bite treats which are nice because sometimes those big apples are difficult to eat. You can buy mini-cupcake paper cups to hold them in and put 6 different ones in little bags or cans and give those away. The down fall is they go bad faster so you'd have to give them away quickly. Here's some more info on it: http://www.ehow.com/how_2159760_mini-caramel-apples.html
  6. I just took 2 days off of work to back. I have tons of recipes, here's a couple of easy favorites: Fast/Simple Peanut Butter Fudge 1 cup butter 1 cup peanut butter 1 tsp vanillia 16 oz (2 cups) powdered sugar Put butter and peanut butter in a microwave safe bowl, microwave for 2 minutes. Stir well, microwave for another 2 minutes. Stir well again, add in vanilla and sugar. Put into an 8x8 dish that's been lined with clear wrap/aluminmum foil/parchment paper (anything). Refridgerate for about a half hour and cut into 1 inch peices. Butterscotch haystacks 1 bag butterscotch chips 1 can chow mein 1/2 cup - 3/4 cups peanuts Melt chips in the microwave and mix in the other stuff. Scoop tablespoon size drops onto wax paper (or whatever) and refridgerate until set.
  7. DH and I bought the original trilogy a couple years ago on DVD. It was a 6 DVD set, it had the 3 movies in their original form and the remastered form. DH always hated the remastered form, saying that it brough in too much CGI. So we kept the original form DVD's and gave away the remastered ones. It's funny though because the originals are labeled as "Bonus Disk" and no where on the box does it mention the original form. If you never put in the "Bonus Disk", you would never know it was there (unless you bought it specifically for that reason). The DVD set we got (and the DVD's we've bought seperately for the other three) are all in wide screen. And from what I've heard, it's going to be a long time coming until there's a 6 DVD set. Lucas just doesn't care that much.
  8. U-Haul will price match. When I moved the price was just about the same between U-Haul and Budget, but Budget let me keep the truck for 2 extra days and gave me 30 more miles. When I called up U-Haul and told them that, the guy was quick to reduce the price and give me the same benefits, plus U-Haul's truck was a little bigger. So I got a bigger truck, 3 days total, 30 extra miles, and $34 off what U-Haul originally quoted me. Moral of the story: Pick the company that has the best pick-up/drop-off locations. I really wanted U-Haul because it had a drop off point across the street from my new place, where as Budget was almost 20 minutes away. You can probably get any company to come down in price with the threat of going somewhere else with these moving trucks.
  9. My friend did that whole "pay for a day, come back all year" annual pass (it's like $70) and I think I remember her saying she gets into Aquatica for free on that pass. I know she deffinately gets a sneak peak into it this week sometime. I might be worth calling and asking about.
  10. Yeah, the 360 version you just plug in your guitar hero guitar like the other one. No biggie.
  11. My little brother has gotten in a lot of trouble this year, but he finally seems to be back on track. I asked him what he really wanted for Christmas and he said he wanted some new clothes. He really like the Famous Stars and Stripes (or whatever that is) and anything BMX. He used to have tons of name brand clothes, but when he started getting into trouble they were one of the first things to go. As a result, he doesn't really have much. I want to buy him some of this stuff, but he said they only sell it at PacSun, but $20 a pop I won't be able to buy him much of anything! Does anyone know any where else that sells those brands of t-shirts or hoodies? TIA
  12. I found tons! :) My Favorite Another A third Another Really cute one, but maybe a little over priced Last, but not least
  13. Ways to avoid high alcohol costs: Have a wedding in the morning or even afternoon. It's perfectly acceptable to not serve alcohol at these functions. Limit the alcohol serving time. My reception was from 7-11. I only served alcohol from 7-9 because I didn't want to take the chance that people would be driving home drunk. Have a cheap "Bride and Grooms" drink. Ours was a Mojito since DH is Cuban. It was cheap to make and people got it because it was "our drink". We decided on this early on and we were able to get the rum for an extremely good deal. Find a Caterer that supplys the mixers/cups. That's what we did. Our caterer offered to supply us with a bartender for $4/person and they would supply all the mixers, cups, and check ID. Remember even though it's your wedding, if cops find out alcohol was served to minors at your event you'll go to jail. This happened to a friend of mine. (Our caterer was www.caterourparty.com incase they are near you and you want their bartender) Serve wine only. Chances are this could save you money, but I couldn't find decent wine that was cheaper than just buying alochol. I know the price difference is probably with buying all the mixers, so I only know this from what people told me. For entertainment, if you want a DJ first ask people you know. Modern DJ set up are not must more complicated than large speakers hooked up to their laptop and a microphone somewhere in the mix. Maybe you already know someone who has this setup. All you need is someone who can play music and pronouce names right. Don't go paying $1000 for someone to play on their computer and eat your food at your wedding. Oh, another unexpected cost for me was your expected to feed EVERYONE. Yeah, I just thought I was feeding my guests. No, the photographer, the DJ, the bartender, the site supervisor, they all wanted to know where their food was. I thought it was rude at first, but I talked to other people and I guess that's standard. There were almost 5 extra plates I had not anticipated. My friend is doing a cupcake tower in her wedding next month. She got those little chinese togo boxes for people to take them home if there were extras. Just a thought.
