chanice Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I am in Canada, and have no experience with BF. I will be in Toronto on BF this year for business and was thinking about spending the weekend in Buffalo. As I started my research, I learned all about this BF stuff (thanks to this site!). Since I will be at work until late afternoon, it appears I will be landing in the states later in the day. I am not expecting to get any of the door-crasher specials obviously, but since I was planning on going anyways, I am now hoping that there will still be some good deals later int he day, and Saturday as well. Can any of you help me out on this???
bayhaysay Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Absolutly, there will be great deals all weekend.:)
elena_398 Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Last year after I napped, I brought my husband and kids back to Walmart. Bought more sleeper pajama pants that was on sale (kept the price even though it was an early bird) and jeans.
Novac Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 It's certainly more relaxing once you hit the later part of the day, however you might be disappointed by several sold-out items.
blakes_mommy Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 And don't forget you miss out on the early bird specials as well.
able Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 the experience wont be the same...but there is still some good buys
Illinoismom Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 There are always good buys that weekend even with out the door busters
i.feature Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I am now hoping that there will still be some good deals later int he day, and Saturday as well. Can any of you help me out on this???I'll be hitting the same area as you. But i'm crossing the border the night before. I find other than a couple door crashers and blitz items most of what i end up buying during that two day period is available (although heavily picked through) all weekend.
Rebirth Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 the experience wont be the same...but there is still some good buysYup, that's about right.
mccabefamily29 Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 There are always plenty of 'left overs' at the Wal-mart here, besides the big ticket items. Even if you go the next day they still have the same price.
Tangogirl Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 It is still worth it, trust me. My mom and I are usually out until 8 or 9 pm shopping, and still grabbing great bargains. You should be fine. Like was said before, there are really great deals the entire weekend, so I know you'll find something that will make your trip worth it!! Good luck on your first BF!!!
sigrist_2000 Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 go in the morning to get the doorbuster items, and the more harder to get items..and get the rest later...so much easier and less "stressful"
dissident Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I like to go and do my general shopping at wal mart on black friday from midnight to say 2AM when nobody is there. Then line up for the blitz items. :)
Novac Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Less than a year old and it quit working already!Just in time to go stand in line for a doorbuster TV!
leefamily23 Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I'm in that area. Anyhow, we always do the first morning thing. Then I usually come home for a nap and go back out in the evening.
Turtle Mommy Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 There will still be great buy's! My Mom does not do BF because of the crowds so we usually go out on Sat or Sun. HTH!! ENJOY and have fun!!
arrowpolisher Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I have been there later on and seen the items that were left over still at the same early bird price, especially if they had a lot left over.
vonnyb Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I agree with the others there are still deals out their later in the day so go out and enjoy!!
jellybean051901 Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 As long as it is not the big ticket items that you are looking for, it is still okay. I have found good deals later in the day.
rogue1230 Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I like the nap idea,,,, Maybe I "execute" my orginal plan of attack, be home by say noon, nap till 4 and go back out- shop and have nice dinner with my friends?????

likehome Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 go in the morning to get the doorbuster items, and the more harder to get items..and get the rest later...so much easier and less "stressful"
tdanette Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I think so. Most of the stores I go to will still offer the early bird specials later into the day (if not for several days in WM case). Also my WM often still has some of the doorbusters left. They had a whole pile of those portable dvd players left last year.
Magister Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Certainly. Start early with Best Buy and Walmart for the big ticket stuff. Then as the day progresses you hit the Ace Hardware, Staples and other places. Then make another round at Walmart for the 4 dollar movies. They ALWAYS have great 4 buck movies on BF.
